Norte Guest House

This hotel was extremely central, literally the perfect location. The room was spotlessly clean and it’s cleaned every day for you if you’d like it. However, it’s extremely noisy, thin walls and floors means you can hear other guests banging doors and talking all night, our room had its own bathroom which was near to the communal bathroom and this kept us awake all night. Reception is barely staffed at all and there are no facilities. But as it’s clean, central and cheap I’d still recommend it as a budget option if you’re not a light sleeper and on a shoestring!

The guesthouse is situated almost in the centre close to the Rossio metro station, a few minutes´ walk to Santa Justa Elevator or the terminus of the iconic trams No. 12 and No.28. Nice staff, vending machines on the ground floor, lift. The room was big enough, but a bit noisy at night. There is no A/C or a fan in the room, so on hot nights in August at least a fan would come in handy. But there is a shower in the room, so you can take a cold shower if you are too hot.

Pretty good hotel for being cheap. The reception was open for many hours and if you needed to leave you luggages to visit Lisboa, you could've just left them in the reception. We found them very available and kind and the services were good. If you want to stay there for the night be aware that some rooms don't have the toilet inside of it but only a shower and a sink (there will be two separated spacious toilets in the same floor). The insides look a bit old and some things such as windows won't be closed properly. If you get a room that's facing the street, buy some ear plugs because it gets noisy, day and night (or the hostel could provide them). Overall, not a bad place, it's cheap, you can easily reach the center, stores and the metro, I recommend it.
