We were very disappointed with our stay at Lisbon Rentals Chiado. We stayed 5 nights in the 1st floor apartment. Every night there was noise from the street, garbage pickup and the adjacent bar. Several nights there was noise from the apartment above us. Lisbon Rentals took great pride in informing us the guests above us had been moved to a more expensive apartment. Excuse me. We were the guests that had a noise problem, and they moved the guests above us. Lisbon Rentals never offered to move us to a quieter apartment. Since the 1st floor apartment is street level, Lisbon Rentals must know the 1st floor apartment can be noisy. Lisbon Rentals could have told us the 1st floor apartment can be noisy and if the noise level is a problem to contact them. However, we did not receive any notification. Instead, we were told we had to contact Lisbon Rental about the noise. We should not have to experience the noise and then have to contact Lisbon Rentals about the noise before something is done about it. One night I sent messages at 1am, 2:30am and 4 am describing the noise. Lisbon Rentals responded by saying they had installed double pane glass; the bedroom was toward the back of the apartment, and they could not control the street noise. While that may be true, the fact is they only offered excuses and did not move us but did move the guests above us. I explained that not everyone sleeps in the bedroom. I have to sleep on a hard surface because of my back, so I had to sleep on the floor near the front window and the noise. We requested extra blankets, and Kleenex. They never came. We requested extra coffee pods. There was only two. They came 3 days later. During our stay we made it very clear to Lisbon Rentals we were dissatisfied with our stay. Again, more excuses. Upon our return home we repeated our dissatisfaction. We were hoping Lisbon Rentals would live up to their statement of excellent customers service and offer something to compensate us for our $1,600 stay. I suggested a credit for 1 night of our 5 night stay. Lisbon Rentals offered 50% off our next stay. Lisbon Rentals made this offer knowing that it probably would not be accepted. Offer nothing to make it look like something. Do yourself a favor. Find a better place to stay in Lisbon that offers better customers service.
