After reading the negative reviews, I decided it was worth reporting on our stay here. We were attending Web Summit at the Altice Arena and chose the VIP Executive Art's (sic) because it was a short walk from one end of the venue. Our room faced the street and was pretty spacious and comfortable, with no noise issues whatsoever; our only complaint was that the mini-fridge didn't work. We enjoyed the breakfast included with our rate, which was quite tasty and offered dozens of items, including interesting ones such as coconut brioche. The staff and elevators were fine, and we ate at two restaurants in the next block and enjoyed them both. And getting back to the airport by walking to Oriente station was very easy. Side note: I'm a comics fan and was startled and pleased that our room had a view of the giant superhero mural outside the hotel. If you're visiting Lisbon as a tourist, you'd do better to stay in a quainter and more atmospheric part of town. But for our needs, we were pleased with the experience we got at this hotel.

Booked this hotel after calling their central reservations office . I told them quiet was my main priority . After assurances from them I cancelled my other reservation in Lisbon . What a mistake ! Paid 790 euro for a family room. Rooms are no better than a holiday inn. My daughter’s room was dirty on check in . Cut nails on the floor , mould in the shower and hair in the sink . Old, tatty and stained bed bases . The common areas were so noisy with business guests . The hotel is attached to a big conference facility . Service was very good but I have no idea why this hotel gets such good ratings . Perhaps because most of the guests are not paying themselves and are getting corporate rates . I felt completely ripped off . The central reservation was not completely honest about the hotel. I spoke to the reception and the GM in the end . They waived my charge for one beer ….. the best they could do . What an insult . Not stated in any “5” star hotel that has mould in the shower . No attention to detail. Don’t stay here if you are on holiday. There’s much better choices in Lisbon .

We landed here from a cancelled easyjet flight, staff were so understanding when we arrived. Breakfast and dinner was included in our stay and was a buffet style with a great selection. Room was very spacious and clean. A 1 minute walk away from metro entrance and supermarket.

I had a fantastic stay! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable experience. The room was not only clean, tidy, and cozy but also a perfect retreat after a day of exploring Lisbon. I especially appreciated the hotel’s thoughtful initiative of offering a coupon for choosing not to have the room cleaned daily, a small but significant gesture towards environmental conservation. My time here was truly enjoyable, and I sincerely hope to find this hotel chain in other countries, to experience their exceptional hospitality again. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Lisbon!

We had a great stay! Perfect location, close to public transport. Very friendly staff. Nice room for a city trip. Breakfast was also very good.
Once a 17th century convent, Locke de Santa Joana has a rich, distinctive history. From preserved interior details to artifacts displayed in the cultural gallery, our Lisbon hotel unites the past and present. A playful style flows throughout 370 serviced apartments, many with their own kitchen.
Vibrant coworking spaces, meeting rooms, and plenty of restaurants and bars mean you won't need to leave. And the sunkissed courtyard and outdoor pool mean you won't want to either. Luxury, yet affordable. Homely, yet indulgent. Ideally located near Avenida de Liberdade.
GGuest User2024.10.08
I stayed at Locke in Edinburgh before, and I stayed there again when I saw a new one opened in Lisbon. This one is very big and just opened not long ago. The advantage is that it is really new, but the disadvantage is that the decoration smell is a bit obvious.
The room is OK, apartment design, with kitchen, refrigerator, sofa and TV. It is generally quite convenient for three days. It is also easy to get a taxi, and it is not far to Liberty Avenue.
There are restaurants and cafes downstairs, the products are OK, and the prices are medium. We did not order hotel breakfast. For breakfast, we went directly to the cafe in the lobby to buy a cup of coffee, a Portuguese tart and bread for breakfast for about 10 euros. We also patronized the restaurant downstairs in the evening. The products were OK, and the average cost per person was about 32 euros.

I found this place while looking for a place to stay.
First of all, I liked the location because it was in the middle of wherever I was going, and it was close to the tram to Belem district and tram number 28.
Also the staff is very friendly!!! I hope everyone goes here because of this part.
The room was clean, of course, and although it was a bit small, it covered everything else.
The breakfast is also delicious, so I recommend trying it.

The Villa Baixa in Lisbon is a fantastic hotel with a prime location that makes it easy to explore the city's main attractions and access the train station. The one-bedroom apartment we stayed in featured a cozy balcony with a view of the pretty street below. The living area was well-furnished with a comfortable couch, coffee table, TV, and dining setup, making it feel like a home away from home. The kitchenette in our apartment was impressively equipped, including a small stove, refrigerator, and ample storage for food. This would have made it convenient to prepare meals during our stay, complemented by an array of kitchen utensils, cups, and plates. Additionally, the presence of a kettle and coffee maker with a limited supply of coffee pods was a thoughtful touch. The bathroom was spacious, with a large sink and a shower that offered excellent water pressure. The bedroom had a dark and quiet environment that ensured restful sleep, despite the bustling neighborhood outside. While the Villa Baixa does not offer on-site amenities and has limited front desk hours, the staff's friendliness and helpfulness made up for it. They were delightful and kind, contributing positively to our overall experience. However, it's worth noting that early arrivals may face challenges, as we did, when our red-eye flight left us waiting until 9 AM to check in. Despite these minor inconveniences, our stay was wonderful, and we would gladly return, especially with our seven-year-old daughter. Villa Baixa is a highly recommended choice for anyone visiting Lisbon!

Great room; we stayed on 18th floor that had a winding staircase with an outside patio. The patio was very large and had a fantastic view; it was wonderful. The beds were comfy and we were able to get an extra single bed brought in as there were 4 of us. The bathrooms were great with the rainshower head and sprayer, large soft bath towels and robes. The only thing that was disappointing is that the window on the main floor only went 1/2 way up the wall and there was no window on the 2nd floor bedroom; however you had the door that opened up to the patio on the 2nd floor. It was a fantastic room. The staff was great and quick to respond to any requests we had. Great place to stay. It is close to a park; restaurants, but seems to be more in the business district; however we walked all other to stores etc. Lisbon is very up/down so you are always walking up or down and on uneven ground/bricks. Fantastic place; just wear comfy/walking shoes and be ready to have some steep uphills and downhills.
Mercure Lisboa is the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel is convenient and practical for business or leisure trips. Next to Lisbon Zoo, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and El Corte Ingles. The 104 air-conditioned rooms have double windows and a seating area. Recharge in the covered, outdoor, heated pool on the top floor. Also on site a restaurant, bar and 9 meeting rooms.

The hotel is average, the beds were average, the room was average, the experience was average, you get my point. You will not leave the site singing its' praises. Because we were in November, no air conditioning was available even though temperatures were in the mid to high 70s (f). The best we could do, was open the windows. The staff was no really ready for prime time, they had consistent problems with providing accurate and workable key cards, a pain, since they had two small elevators for a 8-story building in the heart of a business district. The bathroom in tub shower was actually a challenge and, essentially, dangerous. We ended up on the second floor and, to same time, took the stairs down to the lobby only to find that the door from the stairwell would not open, the door handle just turned and turned. I knocked on the door until someone in the lobby opened it. When I the front desk staff about a genuine fire hazard, they seemed to indicate they already knew about the problem. The breakfast was terrible, even by U.S. Express Hotel standards. Please, please find another location to stay.

GGuest UserIt’s been a long time since I was last in a youth hostel, and as a now 45 year old man there is probably a reason for this. Arriving late on the Tuesday night with fond memories of dorm parties and tequila slammers, I was greeted by what I initially thought was captain Jack Sparrow, but who actually transpired to be a very friendly chap who helped us to navigate the intricacies of the main entrance. Door buzzed, suitcases lifted up the stairs and ugh who let mum and dad in looks absorbed, we were handed our keys by a lovely member of the team alongside vouchers for two free shots. Enthusiastically we were informed that the bar was open until 1am that night, although we had missed the pub crawl for the evening. I’m flattered I guess, however we decided to give the shots a miss in favour of a nice sleep. Yup, Father Time catches up with us all… We had a private double with a shared bathroom, and although very small it was comfortable enough. The pillow has perhaps seen better days, but the A/C was a life saver! Spending the days walking around town and doing some gentle exploring, the nights were largely spent for myself at least in the bar area downstairs. It’s a small but perfectly functional area, and in all honesty wasn’t the screaming mess of teenagers away from home for the first time that I had been expecting. At 3 euros a pint I was certainly very happy to sit and read whilst various cool young things did their thing in the background. Declining participation in the pub crawl for a second time, I was tempted with the tapas tasting but plans for the night changed due to friends arriving a day early and diner reservations being made. From a comfort point of view, our bathroom was shared between three double rooms I believe on the third floor, and this was never an issue. I attribute this to the fact that we were likely on very different schedules with us going out for the day and back for the night, as opposed to the perhaps more night based activities of our fellow residents. Bedroom like I said small, but hey, who cares, we weren’t here to sit in a room all day. The breakfast was absolutely fine, and for 5 euros a day you really cannot complain. All in all very happy with my stay, though peeking into an open dorm room one day my god I wouldn’t have survived the week unless you could take 25 years off me! Good job though overall Sant Jordi, and I’d certainly consider staying again - safe, friendly and somewhere I’m sure 20 year old me would have had a blast!
GGuest UserFriendly staff, comfortable beds with huge pillows and a superb breakfast! Nothing was too much trouble and requests were dealt with quickly and with a friendly smile. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice and the coffee was nice and strong. I fell in love with Lisbon and will definitely be back!
GGuest UserVery large 1 bedroom apartment. Renovated and clean. Very close to everything the area offers. Things to be aware - address given was wrong. We ended up ringing a private home. They said that this has happened repeatedly, so it was not our fault 😅 - the building is next to tram 28. There are two stops, one each direction, one on uphill direction and one in downhill direction. Trams going in both directions can be heard from bedroom loudly. But, downhill going tram makes an extremely loud noise when it breaks for the tram stop (metal on metal screeching noise) Things can be improved - they did not unload the dishwasher from previous people, expecting that we did that. - shower head did not stay steady and slid all the down in about 10 seconds. Continuous battle with pulling it up. - there is shampoo and bath gel, although quality was pretty bad. But, no wash cloth for the gel. You may want to bring it or you may spend a lot of time to find one to buy. - although kitchen had dishes, glasses, pots, etc. It was not stocked with basics like tower, napkin, spices, etc. I would have expected better from a short term rental.
AAnonymous UserBe careful with this hotel, in which service and facilities are wildly variable.
For our last night, one bath towel is missing for a room of double occupancy - a schoolboy error as they would call it - and when we requested the second one, the receptionist acted as if he were doing us a big favour. Then, on our last day, neither of our two room cards worked when we returned to the room 30 min before check out time - and because of receptionist shortage, it took us a good 15 min to get a replacement card - not a good thing for a hotel that brands itself for being chic and high tech.
The room controller, which is run by the TV system, as well as the lighting panel, are as dysfunctional as they get - one would have thought it should be a very simple thing to raise or lower the temperature through a quick flip of a switch, or a simple touch on dial. Instead, it is waiting for the TV to warm up, entering the room control panel, blah blah blah.
Note also a double bed at this hotel means two single beds slapped together. Not great if you have no wish to sleep atop a trench.
Our last night happens to be on a Friday, and the lobby practically turned into a dance floor with loud and cheap beats that went all the way to almost midnight and heard even on the highest floors.
No problem for being chic, but being chic is very different from being dysfunctional and uncomfy. A shame, as the location is excellent, some of the staff were nice and helpful, and some of the decor are clever.
PPQ15The host didn't email the door code to me and there was no one answering the doorbell for the first three times my friends and I tried when it's raining heavily outside that day. I called the owner and they said they would open the door but they didn't and I had to call another time so that they would actually give us the door code to get into the building.
The environment around the stay is very dirty, the road is full with dog poops everyday since morning and it smells very bad.
My belonging is missing in the apartment when I'm very sure that it was still in the bathroom before we left the room. I'm not sure if the cleaner broke it or something else, but I asked them and they say there's nothing they can do about it. I don't mind if they broke it i just want an explanation about why is it missing and they just ignored me, instead they just say they couldn't find the item.
The cleaner cleans the room everyday, the room is clean and is a nice place to sleep overall.
GGuest UserI really enjoyed our staying in lisbon apartment. The best thing:There is no reception, you have entrance code to come inside building and room. The room is super super clean. The cleaning service and virtual reception was really good and fast. For us everything was enough beacause we spent all our time to visit lisbon and around.Hotel is near the airport and 15 min driving to the centro. We had our car, there is parking space around but you have to pay.At keast I will choose this brand again to visit lisbon.
Wasmachine, vaatwasser, magnetron, broodrooster etc. De appartementen liggen niet minden in het centrum en in het mooiste gedeelte van Lissabon maar met de taxi, uber of het OV ben je zo overal. Wij hebben hier een goed verblijf gehad.
GGuest UserThe location was good and the people at the reception were lovely. But, I would say those are really the only positives. First of all, I wouldn’t recommend booking though this site, as it claims to offer the option to pay on checkin, but charges you before. This happens because this website is a 3rd party, they book a room for you through Expedia. They will claim it’s just on hold - spoiler alert, it’s not. But I digress. Back to the hotel, the walls are paper thin, I had the pleasure to be awakened by my neighbours doing the devil’s tango as if they were in my room. The toilet also made weird noises non stop, like water filling in, it was quite annoying too. The cleaning ladies were lovely and really thorough with the cleaning and making sure everything is as clean as can be, however the infrastructure is so old that no matter how much cleaning is done, some things need to be changed (sink full of scratches, toilet full of scratches and with old rust stains in bottom, towels smelling funky sometimes, shower without a detachable handle, no place to put your shower gel, even though there were holes where some sort of holder should be). Long story short, the hotel really needs some renovation because it is called “suites” but feels a lot like my college dorm. Another rather shocking thing for me was that the shower gel/shampoo bottles were refilled, not swapped, which for me feels super unhygienic, specially since they were very tiny bottles (10-15ml). Also, not all outlets were functional, which is rather annoying in 2023. And last, but not least, 25€ per person for an airport transfer? Am I taking a limo? An Uber is 15€ tops in total. In summary, lovely service but the rooms need some TLC. I would book again if the price was as good as this time since the location is really great, but I wouldn’t splurge on it.
Checked in quite late (around 11pm) - the studios need a key card to open the door which we didn't have - you need to cross the road and go right to the to the LX SOHO (a few doors down) to get a key card from reception. First night we were in 405 which was a little small and had an IKEA sofabed .... next day we were able to switch to 404 which had a nice double bed and a little more space. The apartments are very handy for the walk into town - thoroughly recommended.
