Ver Belem Suites

The service was excellent, I had to arrive after check-in and I received all the support I needed to access the room. The suite is very comfortable. On the negative points I would like to point out two things: the first is that the room is above a restaurant and the room was a little smell of food. The second is that the bed had no spare-slips, only a coat for the wooden with signs of dirt.

Merci beaucoup

This was a brilliant place to stay that was great value for money, comfy, and in a really great location just outside the centre of Lisbon. Transport links were plentiful and I have to give 5 stars to our host (I’m so sorry I didn’t manage to catch his name - I believe it might be Pedro??) who was incredibly friendly, professional and made us feel very welcome in the building. He also gave us information about the local area and a few recommendations which was lovely! The only issue we had was dropping our bags off in the morning as check in did not open till 15:00. We were informed we could do this from 10:00 as cleaning staff would be there but when using the buzzer at the front door we got no response. Luckily we managed to get inside via another couple staying in the building. From here a member of the cleaning staff was happy to lock our bags in reception until check in opened. Just a minor thing overall but this process could be a bit better :) thank you for having us!
Hotel Jeronimos 8

This hotel is in a great location, right across to the Jeronimos Monestary in Belem. Breakfast was incredible- so much to choose from, fresh and delicious. King size bed was comfortable. However, furniture and other decor is dated and shows lots of wear. Bathroom, though clean, was dark (it was hard to see to put makeup on) and showers are not really easy to get in and out of a you have to step up to get into it and down of course to get out. Even with a safety handle it's slippery (and I have the bruise to prove it). Staff was courteous and friendly. I feel the pictures are nice than the rooms actually look

The staff were consistently lovely and really helpful. They even brought a little birthday cake up for my partner unsolicited which we really appreciated. The hotel was clean, quiet and nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortble. Breakfast was excellent, and so was the dinner that we had there one night. The gym was modest in terms of equipment but spacious and spotless. The reason I'm not giving the hotel 5/5 is that I didn't like the bathroom layout/design at all. It afforded no privacy, with a clear shower right in the middle of the room and a toilet behind it with a clear glass door. The sink was less than 2 metres from the bed, with no wall to separate it. So, for example if I used the sink or the toilet in the night it would wake my partner up. I really didn't understand this design choice as there was ample space to create a proper, separate bathroom. Other rooms may not have this issue - I can't comment on that. Also, the sink tap came out in a spray rather than a stream which was just generally inconvenient. Overall, we had an excellent time apart from those aspects of the room.

I would like to make it clear that the accommodations at this hostel were as expected, taking into account that currently it is basically what one is looking for, when it comes to stays for a short period of time. But I missed clearer and more accurate information in the booking confirmation email. Because when I arrived at the hotel door and pressed the doorbell dozens of times without getting an answer, it was very stressful! My phone is from Brazil and I hadn't bought a chip from Portugal. I had to seek help from third parties, unknown people, thank God I found someone who helped me, but even getting into our room was a long way! Something that should have been very simple became almost a nightmare. Therefore, I would like to suggest that when making a book with a client, make it clear in the email the step-by-step instructions on how to enter the hotel and also the room! Make it clear to the person that everything is done remotely and we never even know who we are talking to. Not everyone will get there with working internet on their cell phone, and making a phone call is out of the question due to the price it would cost, as it would be International! Just a suggestion, so it doesn't happen to other people. Regards
