It has potential, as a hostel, but as I paid for an ”individual apartment” I didn't like it. I received, about 15 days before I left, that the YHA, which I had booked, had changed ownership, but that NOTHING WOULD CHANGE IN THE RESERVATION. I arrived at 3:00 PM, coming from a long trip from Edinburgh, with a stop and a walk in Newcastle, with the plan of arriving at the ”hotel”, taking a shower and going out to explore the city. To my surprise, check-in was only at 4:00 PM. In other words, what was stipulated when I made my reservation had already changed (YHA)... And I had to wait in a kind of reception/snack bar on site. When I mentioned it to a boy at reception, he even ironically replied, ”only at 4, sorry”! I also had a setback because I was unable to print proof of payment on the card, which I later received by email. Anyway, the apartment is even good for a hostel/hotel (I stayed alone). However, the night is a hell of a noise. And make no mistake, the music that plays on the ”iconic Beatles street”, and that can be heard from the room, is of the worst quality, in addition to the shouting ”typical of bar areas” in a medium/large city. Finally, and without me knowing, the reception/snack bar closes from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, and you have to enter through a strange door at the back of the establishment. And, if that wasn't enough, when I left, at around 6:30 AM, the ”hall in front of that door” was a legitimate urinal. Anyway, when I saw that it had changed ownership, and received notification from Booking, I ended up not changing hotels. But I should have done that, as it really felt more like a ”casual bar” that hosts on the upper floors, than a hotel; I knew it was also a hostel, but as I paid ”the price of a hotel for an individual apartment”, I would have preferred to have stayed somewhere more professional and even courteous... Place was exactly as advertised. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth staying if your trip is short. As for downsides, hostel has limited number of bathrooms and showers - this can cause issues if you have to leave quickly. The ventilation in rooms is basically non-existent, and rooms house up to 10 people, so I’ll leave the air quality to your imagination. Sound isolation is not great, so if somebody has a good time in the kitchen you’ll going to hear that. Bring earplugs if you are light sleeper. Cleanliness is subjective, I’m not that picky, but having crumbs in my bed was disconcerting. Some sinks have filters with hair in them. Haven’t seen anything that would be actually harmful like mold or hygiene products, so that is good. Location is good. Liverpool is not that big and you’ll get to city centre in under an hour even with most leisurely pace. Do visit the cathedral on your way there. I haven’t seen any shops in immediate vicinity though, but I didn’t need them, so maybe you find some if you look. Bus stop for airport is fairly close, so that is a plus as well. Overall, this is a hostel. You can sleep there, store your stuff and maybe have a chat with interesting people. Price is fair for experience.

The Noisiest Stay I've had ever!, we were warned by staff to be fair, our room was no6 on the side of the hotel, and the racket outside was going right up till 5am, they do give you ear plugs but they are useless, anyway onto the hotel, our key card didn't work properly nor did other peoples but the lady and gent on the desk make out it's your fault and there isn't a problem and were quite curt and sharp with you, very unprofessional as they are clearly faulty! Decided to have a drink before going to bed in the bar, the music was deafening, no chance to have a chat! And it was awful too, all those compilation songs that everyone hated back in the 80's, really outdated, bar prices were very reasonable, compared to the rest of Lpool town centre where they are a complete rip off, our room was quite small, clean enough but carpets are tired and in need of replacement, bathroom ok bed comfortable enough, breakfast the next morning was good, bacon was lovely, mention for the lady who served us she was very nice and pleasant, considering the £110 cost I was disappointed and would look elsewhere in the future
