Center Ljubljana

The reason for me to go for this hotel was its central location, in walking distance to bus and train station on one side and to the old town on the other. The start was good: a free transfer from the quite far away airport was included, then a very friendly young lady checked me in, also giving me plenty of information, especially about restaurants. Going up by elevator (no other choice from the reception) to the first floor and then up a quite narrow staircase to the second floor, I found a pleasant room facing the Slovenska Avenue. Since I quite liked this room I asked to get, if possible, the same one for my return, but it was not be. Instead I was given a tiny room on the first floor facing the backside (apparently the hotel was booked out). In this room I was not happy at all. There was hardly any storage space for anything and just a very small wardrobe by the entrance door. My suitcase and shoes I had to leave between the double bed and the glass wall of the bathroom. Temperature was a constant 24° C (which could not be changed and which was too much for me at night) and there was a green light blinking constantly from the smoke detector on the ceiling. Mentioning this to the reception a technician came, but he didn't manage to change anything. Breakfast was included, but since the hotel not only has no lobby, but also no restaurant, it had to be taken at a nearby café. Start was at 8am, when there was a queue already outside. Out of six times I only went there once, since the start is too late, if one goes on excursions as I did. Luckily I was at the hotel also on Sundays, when the café is closed and breakfast has to be taken as of 7am at a hotel about 500m away, where there was a nice buffet. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but useless for me, since I don't like the '3 in 1' Jacobs sachets, where coffee is combined with milk powder and sugar. There was a not very ecological daily change of towels and in the bathroom there were no soap bars or liquid soap dispensers, just small plastic bottles as for shampoo as well. The floor in the room on the other hand never saw a dry cleaner during my stay. Strange for a hotel in a European capital city is also the fact that only cash payment is accepted, something I had seen for the last time at 'rooms to rent' on remote Greek islands.

Check in was quick and easy. Receptionist was very friendly, gave us a map & circled all the best things to do around the city. The room was pleasant at first view, negatives below section. In the center of the city, 8 mins to the old town. Great value for money. Negatives Blinds were basically see through so when the sun rose, the room was very very bright. The aircon doesn’t work. It is stuck at 26 degrees & cannot change that to be colder. Payment in cash was odd.. not sure why they don’t accept card. Rooms on first floor had a thin partition between them so can hear everything in other rooms.

Nice hotel with great design of room and bathroom. Parking garage very close, also breakfast is in a coffee shop right next door. Nice staff, very friendly and helpful answering our questions (even gave us a little present at departure, very considerate of them). Very nice integration of old building with new technologies.

I’ve just completed a 4 night stay here. Location was great, just under 10 minutes walk from the train station and about the same to the Oldtown. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size for me as I was travelling solo but might be a bit on the small size for a couple. Shower was excellent with very high pressure and bed was very comfortable. The room also came with a fridge but unfortunately there was only one power point close to the bed so most of the time I was in the room I had to leave it unplugged. There was a kettle and free Coffee was provided. Room was clean and tided for me everyday. There is also Aircon, which can be very much needed this time of year. My only real negative and the only reason this is a 4 and not 5 was due to the Curtains. They could really have done with being darker as, as soon as it got light outside the light came in so if I woke up early it was a little difficult to get back to sleep. Still it’s a nice hotel and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Our room certainly didn't look anything like the one in the photo. Dark, tiny and the shower room smelt utterly revolting for the three days we were there. Also horrible steep wooden stairs up to second floor where our room was. Totally unsuitable for people of 70+ but we had no choice. Cannot recommend and would not stay again.

There are lots of hotels in Ljubljana, and the city is small, so find another hotel and the location won’t matter, as everything is close by. Wifi is slow and sometimes non existent. Hotel A/C doesn’t work properly, so the room is always extremely hot and humid, nothing dries at all, like towels.. hotel only takes cash, which is an inconvenience. No breakfast at hotel. Hair dryer only goes for a couple mins, then shuts off. Maybe it needs to be Vaccumed and overheats? Every single day the elevators were always being worked on the entire week we were there. Occasionally it would work, if you didn’t mind the risk of being inside when it decided to not work….. this meant that you had to use the stairs not in the lobby, but at a back entrance only accessible with staff with a key to enter. Exiting could be done without staff. This meant you had to walk outside in a dark alley way, where one time we were propositioned to buy *****. I wouldn’t want to do this after dark. The location is basically the only thing it had that was positive. But since Ljubljana is small, any hotel in any location would be fine. Do yourself a favour and find another hotel. Staff expressed surprise at the lack of wifi, but all our devices had issues with connection.

Exceptionally cordial reception staff made checking in pleasurable. And the rooms are beautifully refurbished, with wonderful wood floors instead of the more usual grubby, germ-laden carpet. Breakfast is from 07:00 but might be available from 06:30 from another nearby hotel (Atelier) in a cooperative agreement. Why might? Because while GMaps identified it, I couldn't locate it🤦‍♂️... The only downside is something the hotel can't control (without, possibly, investing in triple-galzed windows). It's located on one of the city's main thoroughfares, and is therefore subject to intense traffic noises. While these sounds vanish after midnight, the yobbos heading home from the bars evudently don't board the last buses. If you need a very pleasant and comfortable place to sleep for one night that's within 10 minutes walking distance of the rail and bus terminii, then this could well be your best bet. But if youre in Ljubljana for several nights and are (like me) disturbed by ambient noise, better find a quieter location. Note too, as other reviews state, you must pay by cash - cards are not accepted.

The location of the hotel is quite convenient. Very close to the city center and there is a parking garage nearby. It is quite easy to reach coming from the highway. The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. The room was small but comfortable. The price/quality ratio is good in my opinion. It is a great hotel to stay to explore Ljubljana. My main dislike was the fact that don't accept cards for payment (it wasn't a surprise, as it is clearly stated and the hotel informs in the welcome message) but still, for an hotel in the capital, I don't find it reasonable not to accept card payments. Another minor point is the fact that if you open the window, it is too loud and there is no other way to cool the room (at least that I noticed).

Friendly and helpful staff throughout the stay. Location is very convenient, esp if you need to leave early in the morning. Breakfast at a coffee shop next door which caters to just about any taste and has excellent coffee. Rooms may be small but that’s city hotels for you.
