Enjoyed several evenings at the Royal Oak pub when we stayed in the village. Warm welcome from the landlord. Hearty pub fare. Dog and family friendly. Popular place to eat and drink and we can see why. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Great pub with an excellent choice of real ale, cider and the usual drinks. Food was excellent well presented and very affordable. The landlord knows how to look after you and his real ale making sure you have a clean glass each time you ordered. Will definitely visit again

Very clean hotel, ample parking space. Steve was very helpful and polite. Good breakfast and evening meal that was at a very reasonable price! Half an hour from Builth Wells which was ideal for the RWAS. If we are ever in the area on a Sunday we will pop in for a carvery!

The landlord was friendly and accommodating in every way. The food is home cooked and arrived in good time. I had read previous negative reviews but saw nothing of this, it was very positive. Thank you- it was so nice we went back the next night 👍

Great pub friendly owner. Ate burger and chips. Beef was excellent flavour (I don't often eat beef). Bun was tasty and not sweet. Chips well cooked. Very quiet spot. Friendly owner. Will be back in next day or so. Plenty of space outside and garden with beautiful views

We stayed here for 3 nights in May 2023. We’ve stayed here several times over the last five years and have always had a great time. Steve and Debs are welcoming and really pleasant. We stayed in a very comfortable, recently refurbished room with a double bed. We ate breakfast and dinner at the Royal Oak on all three days. My full English breakfast was really good. My wife likes fruit for breakfast and Steve had remembered this from our previous visits. He produced an excellent fruit selection every morning…well done Steve! The evening menu is more varied, and offers better value than at neighbouring pubs. In our opinion, the food here is a lot better too. This is home cooking done really well. We’ve tried most items on the menu over the years, and have always been happy with our selections. I always find it difficult to choose between the pies and the burgers since both are excellent! Deb’s latest innovation, the “Dirty Burger” is a 6oz burger, topped with pulled pork, cheese and comes with all the trimmings. It is fabulous! The pub is situated in a small, quiet village surrounded by stunning scenery. It’s the perfect place for walking, cycling or just getting away from the stress of daily life. The small, charming town of Llandovery is 6 miles down the hill and has interesting shops, including a fantastic bakery. We look forward to returning to The Royal Oak

My husband, and I visited in Aug 22. We both had a lovely meal, the cottage pie was very much home cooked and very tasty. The landlord took the time to talk with us about our trip and his pub and the journey through Covid and I take my hat off to them for getting through the other side of Covid after lots of hard work and determination. Our cockerpoo was offered water too, very welcoming. Pls visit if you are in the area, you won’t be disappointed.
