Tavistock Hotel

The bed was great, and breakfast was excellent, with fruits, vegetables, fresh croissants, delicious bread, and everything you need for a tasty English breakfast. HOWEVER, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. There was trash on the floor in the bathroom and hair in the tub. When I asked for the tub to be cleaned, a woman came and just rinsed it with water, complaining that her shift was over. The tub itself is small, more like a shower tub, and the toilet doesn't flush properly.

I stayed at this hotel for a trip from Euston Station, and it was incredibly friendly with a great atmosphere. They even gave me an early check-in and a room upgrade! However, there was no air conditioning, so it was incredibly hot (I visited during a European heatwave, couldn't sleep a wink at night ㅠㅠ). The faucets were an old style, with separate hot and cold taps, making it a bit difficult to adjust the water temperature. The breakfast was delicious, and the location is fantastic!

I'm not sure if I misread or what, I know many hotels in Europe don't have air conditioning, but when I booked, it said there was AC. I only found out there wasn't when I arrived, just a fan. Luckily, the weather was okay at night. The single room size was decent, the hallway was a bit narrow. It's close to the station and the British Museum, so the location is convenient.

Very satisfied overall, but with the recent heatwave in London, I wish the hotel would install air conditioning soon. It was just too hot, even with the fan on all night. Everything else was great, especially the breakfast selection.

The room was clean and tidy, and the desk was convenient for working. The location was great, and the front desk allowed me to check in early and upgraded my room. They also offer free luggage storage after check-out. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time.

I was looking for a quiet hotel near the British Museum. The hotel certainly feels old, and of course, the rooms aren't spacious, as is typical for London hotels. However, if you're traveling solo, it's perfectly fine. My room had a view of greenery from the window, and the birdsong in the mornings was particularly pleasant. That said, I could easily hear the TV and coughing from the adjacent room, so the level of comfort would vary greatly depending on your neighbors. Breakfast was tasty, but it was the same menu for all five days. In hindsight, I should have only opted for two days, given the abundance of cafes nearby. The bed was comfortable. However, the shower felt like a drizzle and would likely be considered very weak by Japanese standards. The towels also felt quite old. On the positive side, the hairdryer was powerful and convenient. There was also a fan in the room, which would be helpful given the recent sweltering summer heat. All the staff were incredibly kind and wonderful. There's a bus stop close to the hotel, and Russell Square Station is only about a 5-minute walk away. Although it faces the road, it feels safe and quiet.

Hotels have been incredibly expensive these past few days, for some reason. This hotel was a second choice, but it turned out to be quite convenient. There's a grilled wing shop downstairs with delicious garlic-flavored wings. Just a short walk south, you'll find Chongqing Taste and Chinatown Chinese restaurants, both owned by Malaysians.

About a 10-minute walk from King's Cross Station, with a park right next to it. It's also close to the University of London and the British Museum. The view from the window is nice, and you see a lot of people jogging in the mornings.
