Nox Kensington

Don’t be fooled with good reviews, they are mostly likely fake. This motel is not trust worthy. Ones you prepay you have no service at all. Your room could be filthy, have insects or very hot in summer and cold in winter. The reception is trained to be rude and accepts no responsibility, they point you to the manager who is even worse to deal with. My advice book any where else but Nox.

IMPORTANT information is to bring form of ID like a passport or driving license! We were lucky we brought a form of ID with us. Great Location, about 25 minutes walk from the underground station. Small room -perfect for 1 to 2 nights stay. Very clean. Everything was provided such as.... Iron, hairdryer, towels, soap, shower gel and body wash, toilet rolls. Bins were emptied daily and fresh towels provided. Nice hidden away kitchenette (be careful not to stub your toes when opening it as ours was close to the bed) - has a fridge, kettle, bottled water, toaster, cooker, washing up liquid & sponge, Roll of paper towel to dry dishes with, microwave, cups and bowls, a couple cutlery unfortunately only had one fork. We didn't mind as we ate out anyway. Tea and coffee, sugar, milk pods. We were able to enjoy Netflix in our room although the wifi could be a bit spotty at times. Friendly staff. Shops near by - you can get milk, ready meals or whatever to put in your wee kitchen.

It was an okay place to stay at, only for 2 nights while seeing Sabrina Carpenter. The lady at the reception was really nice and the entrance looked nice. The rooms however were slightly small but then it was working for us as it had everything we needed. Only thing that bothered us is the thin walls/floors. Hard to sleep when others are stumping like elephants at 3 am when we tried to sleep. Other than that I don’t see why we couldn’t stay there again.

Stayed at this Nox apartment Hotel and had a great experience ! Staff were always polite and helpful ! The room was immaculate - sheets/ towels very white and bathroom was also super clean !! It was very handy having access to a small kitchen in the room too! We had an amazing sleep- beds very comfy and it was so silent ;didn’t feel like we were in the city ! Location was perfect - from Heathrow - take Elizabeth line to Paddington station and it was a 15 minute walk to hotel ! Also 5 mins walk to Hyde park and undergrounds nearby ! Easy to walk to Nottinghill and Kensington ! We stayed for the Chelsea Flower Show ! Def would recommend a stay here and we will be back !

UK RESIDENTS NEED A PHOTO ID TO CHECK IN! NEEDS TO BE MADE CLEARER! This detail is half down the hotel information provided. It should be at the top! The receptionist was apologetic when we couldn't produce physical ID, said this happened every day(!!!) and we spent a fraught 20 mintues before we found an image we could use. It wasn't a good start and could have ruined out weekend away. Other negative points: - the room had a definite odour on entry but was bearable. - sound insulation is non-existent. You will get woken up by the traffic and unless your fellow guests are exceptionally quiet you will everything including, in one instance, thins you don't want to hear. We were on the top floor, I imagine this was as good as it gets and it was still bad. The above is a pity. The plus points are: - the rooms are quite spacious for the price. Three permanent beds + room to move around and it was warm even in mid winter. - good wifi. - good storage + a safe. - kitchenette well stocked. - bathroom was adequate if missing places to put toiletries. - location is good. In summary, UK residents remember your ID!!! If sound doesn't bother you, or slight smells, this is reasonable value. But I won't be going back again.

The electronic door key to my room would not work. Nor would the replacement I was given by the (slightly embarrassed receptionist). Nor would the next one. He then became apologetic and said he would have to accompany me to my room (3rd floor) each time I needed to get into it. They were having problems with the keycard programming machine, but only for my room it appeared. However the room is packed with facilities for cooking, preparing food and eating. There is no table or chair, but hey that’s not a problem when you have a nice flat bed. TV was nice and big though. Later on that evening, I was aware of a lot of loud talking / shouting by other guests in the room opposite. Having been woken up, I decided to look at my watch - it was 2.30 a.m. —- not good! Is this a hotel’s responsibility to control, or just bad luck? Having said all this it was reasonable value at £52, in a fairly central part of London.
