The Clermont London, Charing Cross

The suite was very spacious, comfortably accommodating our family of four (with kids aged 11 and 7). The photo shows the view from our window. It was a bit noisy being by the road, but it quieted down after 9:30 PM. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, especially the pastries – better than anything you'd find at popular bakeries outside. I didn't have high expectations for anything else. The front desk and restaurant staff were all very welcoming and enthusiastic.

For London, at this price point, this hotel is truly great value for money. Especially after staying in many hotels across the UK, their breakfast here is particularly outstanding. You need to book early, otherwise, it will sell out quickly. The room can feel a bit cramped if you pull out the sofa bed, and as an older hotel, the rooms are a little dated, but these are minor issues. The public areas are beautiful, and the restaurant is also lovely. It's definitely one of my favorite hotels from this trip!

Extremely satisfied with this hotel! The location is superb, within walking distance to landmarks like the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace. It's also very close to two subway stations. We booked a room with a 1.8-meter king bed in the annex building, which required one elevator transfer. During our stay in London, temperatures reached 30 degrees Celsius, but the hotel's air conditioning worked very well. Breakfast was an English buffet, but unlike what I'd read in previous reviews, menu items required an extra charge and weren't complimentary. All the water and snacks in the room were free and fully replenished daily. Overall, I'm very happy and would definitely return if I have the chance again!

The room was very clean and the toiletries provided were excellent. The hotel's location is super convenient, close to both the train station and the subway station. There's a M&S downstairs, so no worries about snacks or drinks. It's easy to get around for dining, shopping, and transportation.

The room facilities were a bit old. The voltage was initially too low, so the hairdryer wouldn't turn on, and the shower water kept fluctuating between hot and cold. The cleanliness was not up to par, with spiderwebs on the window frame. Plus, because of the subway downstairs, it was quite noisy and affected my sleep. The only thing worth praising was the breakfast; it was excellent.

Great location, it's literally 5 meters from the tube station, and you can walk to Westminster, Big Ben, and the London Eye. The hotel's common areas are nice, but the room facilities are really old and run down.

I booked a room in the annex, which was much quieter than the main building, as the main building has trains and subways running underneath it. The annex was newly renovated in 2021, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, thankfully not the old-fashioned style where you have to shower in the bathtub 😂 Plus, it even had a window! Water and snacks in the room were complimentary. Since I left a £5 tip in my room every day, they made sure to restock the water and snacks fully, and the room was always cleaned very well. I stayed for three days, and based on my observations, they cleaned the check-out rooms before 3:30 PM, and then cleaned the stay-over rooms after 3:30 PM. For breakfast, on weekends, they open two dining areas. If Platform 7 is full, guests are directed to the adjacent meeting room, but the food is identical! The auxiliary dining area also had plenty of food. On the à la carte menu, the egg rolls, three types of Eggs Benedict, and avocado toast now cost an extra £5, but they are delicious and actually quite good value. Sometimes, the egg rolls appear on the breakfast buffet (see P4 – one hot dish changes daily; during my three days, I saw two different egg dishes and black pudding), and salmon and ham are available every day. In fact, only the avocado toast isn't available on the buffet. The bread selection is incredibly varied, and pancakes and waffles are available daily. The staff were super diligent; only at breakfast did I get a sense of London's thriving economy.....
