Loews Hollywood Hotel

My stay was absolutely fantastic. The hotel is in a super convenient location, right next to Universal Boulevard and Universal Studios. The room was spacious, comfortable, and had great soundproofing. Every single staff member was warm, friendly, and provided excellent service. This is truly a reliable and high-quality hotel that I would recommend.

The hotel's location is super convenient for visiting attractions near Hollywood. Plus, the small shopping center downstairs makes it easy to grab a bite, and the Red Line subway is right below it, which is great for getting around during the day.

This hotel boasts an excellent location in the Hollywood area. The first floor has a more youthful vibe. 1. The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Exiting from the M floor leads directly to a commercial area with plenty of options for dining, entertainment, and shopping. Nearby attractions are all within 200 meters. The hotel doesn't provide complimentary water, so remember to grab some from the large supermarket nearby. McDonald's is just across the street, and a 7-Eleven is also directly opposite. 2. The views are absolutely stunning! We initially stayed on the 20th floor and had a great view of the Hollywood Hills and the iconic sign. We later upgraded our room, and while we no longer saw the logo, the 270-degree city view was equally spectacular. 3. There's a small cafe on the hotel's first floor where we had breakfast. It was very convenient, clean, and reasonably priced. 4. Getting to the Getty Center by taxi from here takes about 35 minutes, typically without traffic. 5. Hotels in Los Angeles all charge a 'destination fee.' This has to be paid on-site and feels a bit like a 'mandatory expense.' I've seen many people complain about it. The perks offered are pretty lackluster, and I didn't use any of them. However, this isn't specific to this hotel; it's a city-wide charge in LA. 6. Regarding the staff, the bellhops seemed a bit unmotivated, and room cleaning was just average. However, the rest of the staff were quite professional. 7. The hotel pool was undergoing maintenance during our visit. Overall, the location is great, it's quiet despite being central, offers good value for money, and feels safe.

This hotel is really old, and at nearly two thousand a night, it's just... The bathroom felt like a guesthouse from twenty years ago. American hotels are so hit-or-miss. I feel like I'd be better off choosing a newer three-star hotel... On one hand, I can't say the service was bad; the front desk even gave us a free upgrade to a Hollywood sign view room with two windows, and we got a late check-out until 1 PM. But then again, to say the service was good? They didn't even provide bottled water! The showerhead wasn't detachable, the bathtub was incredibly slippery, and yellow water would bubble up from the bathroom floor. The room didn't even have a sofa, and the charging outlets were super old-fashioned – you had to plug them into the desk lamp. The soundproofing was also pretty mediocre. There was nothing else, though it did have an ironing board. The top sheet was strange; it wasn't fitted but just sandwiched between two flat sheets, which didn't feel very hygienic. It was convenient that you could rent an Avis car directly from the hotel lobby. The location is just okay, too touristy, and I don't feel very safe around the Walk of Fame; there are quite a lot of homeless people.
