The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles

Downtown Los Angeles Los Angeles|1.82km from MacArthur Park
The Ritz-Carlton Los Angles is one of our most favorite hotels but on our recent trip it was a whole new level for two reasons 1) super sweet upgrade (thanks Bonvoy Ambassador team)and 2) club level access. The Room The Executive Suite is a stunning room. The hotel offers several configurations. Some have a half bath, some offer a connecting room and some are accessible. Regardless of configurations all offer a spacious living/dining room, spectate bedroom, stunning bathroom and killer views. The executive suite is great for couples looking for a bit of extra space (more than a thousand square feet) to spread out, families or those travel on business and need space for work. Club Lounge If you’ve never had the opportunity to experience the Ritz-Carlton Club Level it is an experience to be had. Unfortunately Ritz-Carlton does not offer elite access to the club level so you’ll have to pay for it - Burd it’s worth it. The offerings vary by hotel but this club offers a full hot breakfast, lite lunch mid day, snacks, evening appetizers and desserts, beer and wine all day and evening cocktail service. This is all included in the room rate along with an incredible concierge team. The Hotel The hotel is tranquil, private and offers discrete luxury. Even though the JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton share a building the experiences can not be anything farther from each other. From the private lobby, to beautiful rooms, to the well equipped fitness center to the tranquil rooftop pool The Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles does not disappoint.

I stayed in this hotel October3 through October 6 2019. My boyfriend was driving to LA to meet me and we were going to stay at the hotel. I was getting to LA around noon and I requested early check in. I was told I needed to call back. I called back and was told maybe by 1:30pm but I would need to call back. I called back and was told maybe by 2pm. Each time I called the phone rang and rang. Sometimes it just went to voicemail. Finally at 2pm I went to the lobby and was given a room key. I was then told we could only park one car per room at the hotel. My boyfriend had to park at a meter that we had to feed every two hours. I asked the front desk how much for an additional car and they said they can not accommodate. I asked for a nearby garage and they didn’t know of any. Saturday night we came back to the hotel after spending an exhausting day in LA and there was no street parking available at 10pm at night. We spent an hour driving around and trying to find a space or a parking garage without any luck. We went to the front desk for a suggestion for a parking garage and the clerk had no idea. I finally found a 24 hour garage 1.5 miles away. The next day we tried to check out a day early and they said since we had booked through hotels.com we would have to call hotels.com. I called hotels.com and they called the hotel right away and then told me all I had to do was go to the front desk and I would get refunded one night stay that I had already been charged since I wouldn’t be using it. The guy at the front desk took my card to issue me the refund but said it was declined. How can a refund be declined? He said he didn’t know call my bank. I called my bank and they said there was no reason I couldn’t get the refund on my card. There were no holds or alerts and they didn’t show any declined transactions on their end. The guy at the front desk just shrugged his shoulders and said the problem was with my card. I now have to file a dispute through my bank to get the charge reversed. I called the hotel and it rang and rang and sent me to voicemail. I would not stay again and would not recommend anyone stay there because if you run into any hitches and difficulty during your stay you are out of luck. The hotel will not help you and will just take your money.

I was going to stay in room 229 for four nights (Monday, August 29th - Friday, July 2nd), to attend SIGGRAPH in 2019, but ending up leaving early - not even sleeping there one night. The older man at the front desk was courteous, nice, and helpful with getting the WiFi password. He gave me the option of choosing rooms between an older building and a newer one, where there was not hot water at the time (but that was temporary, due to some maintenance going on) and nicer rooms. I went with the newer building lacking warm water (for a day) and having nicer rooms. Room 229 looked as the hotel advertises online, and like the photographs of other online reviews. The room was clean, the bed made, no stains in the microwave, and the bathroom had fresh toilet paper in a matte paper wrap. I settled in, putting my items down, and went out to eat. Coming back is when alert arose. Not too long after returning (quite soon rather), I was sitting at a chair next to the bed, charging my phone, when a knock was heard. I called out ”hello?” and no one answered. There was more knocking and more hellos from me, but still, no response. I went up to the door from the inside and asked who was there, calling my sister was I headed to the door, as the felling was not right - one ready for 911. A man claimed to be looking for a ”Kyle,” and I informed the man that there was no Kyle there, especially not I (female). He wanted to come inside the room, then claiming that ”Kyle's” phone number was inside the room, presumably written down. Told the man that there was no such number in the room, that it was clean when I got there. Also suggested that he go ask the front desk about this ”Kyle,” letting him know that I was not comfortable letting him in the room. He would not go to the front desk and claimed that he understood that I was not comfortable letting him in the room, but was still insisting on coming in. It was difficult to get a good look at him through the peep hole. It sounded like there was someone else with him. He and they sounded mumbled in a quick talk, like acknowledging my stance and essentially giving up, leaving. Maybe they did not truly leave, but stayed in the shadows or at a distance, away from evident sight. After the incident, I texted and called friends about it, also the front desk. The worker who picked up stated that they would check it out, but I did not dare open the door and check to see if they actually did. I waited for a trusted friend to pick me up and ended up staying with her at the Sheraton Grand in downtown LA instead - much more secure. It was dark out, but less frightening when help came. I called Expedia, whom the stay was booked with, about the incident on the 29th and got an email on the 30th, in the AM, that they were still in the process of contacting the manager about getting a refund. Called Expedia the next day, the 31st, and was told that a full refund was going to be issued. Proceeded to drop off the key at the hotel, but the n

Breakfast is good, there are fruits to eat, savory cakes to eat, hot water to drink. It's a little far from the city center. It takes more than 20 minutes to walk, which is already good in Los Angeles.

The first time was in March 2015, and this year was the third time in March, the room that was previously booked. Like to live here is the price is acceptable, the room is large and the transportation is convenient. The overall feeling is higher than in 2015, and flat-panel TVs have replaced old-fashioned TVs. The sheets were previously colored, and now the white color gives a clean feeling. It is convenient to arrange a smoking room with a refrigerator, microwave and hot water bottle. The exhaust fan of the bathroom is loud, and the antique air conditioner has a loud sound. The boss is still the boss who is very enthusiastic. The price has risen from 2015, there is no way, the US hotel price is expensive. Convenient transportation around, there are buses nearby, 720 buses are available, Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the west lake (West Lake) subway station. There is a ROSS shop next to the hotel, but you need to go out and bypass the hotel to get to ROSS. ROSS is a discount store, many Americans come here to Taobao.

Stuart Hotel

We arrived at the hotel and were immediately greeted with a grim sight. A dark, damp and unwelcoming environment. The staff were helpful however. A few minutes later a man wearing tatty and ripped sweatpants and sweatshirt appeared with no shoes on and left the hotel, a minute later he returned to the hotel with what can only be described as a gigilo. The two men then preceded upstairs. We got our room keys and when we asked for 2 more we received them. Soon after we approached the stairs and we took one step on the staircase and heard a man clearly intoxicated, by some heavy drugs, moan and groan. We decided to not take the stairs. We went to the lift and as a group decided we didn’t want to stay in a halfway house filled with junkies and male **********s. We soon after got an Uber and left. We were a group of 3 mature men who felt genuinely intimidated, endangered and unsafe in this hotel lobby. To anyone even remotely thinking about staying in the Stuart Hotel I strongly advise you to not to and hope you’ll explore other options.
The Live Hotel

We stayed at the Live Hotel this past week for three nights. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was odd. One day they had sausage and no eggs then the next day boiled eggs and no bacon or sausage. I found that odd. The beds were comfortable and the rooms seem to have been updated. However The area the hotel is in is awful. The neighborhood is not good. Trash and graffiti is everywhere you look. We did not feel safe walking anywhere. This was my first time visiting Los Angeles and I have to say I was so disappointed in the city and their lack of at least picking up trash and doing anything to control the graffiti. To put it bluntly the neighborhood is filthy. Parking is $11.00 per night which I thought was a bit much but they did have security at night to make up for the fee. The Korean BBQ across the street was delicious and that is as far as we ventured out walking. Even though the hotel was in itself nice and very clean I will not be staying there again simply because of the area. Los Angeles has a serious trash and graffiti problem that they need to address. I rated this hotel 3 stars mainly because of the horrible location.
