Bahia Hotel & Beach House

Downtown Cabo San Lucas
Alan at the pool bar was amazing. Great smile and energy and attitude. The most redeeming quality about this place. The rooms are clean and the restaurant has a nice vibe, as well as the beach club. Do not eat anything from the room’s mini bar. I was sick one day and thought maybe I needed to eat something so I could take some medication. But, what was u able to eat it because it was so stale. And they charged us more than $5 for a tiny pack of stale chips. What was the most disappointing to us was the poor communication by both the check-in staff (who told us that they were also the manager, Marta) and the restaurant staff. When Marta checked us in, she told us that the breakfast was included and to just go to the restaurant. She clearly said that the restaurant would give us what would look like a bill and not to worry- that it would not be charged to our room but only for their records. I even went back downstairs after unpacking and asked a second staff member who confirmed what Marta had said. However, on the second day, after we ate breakfast a second time, my partner thought it prudent to ask again and was told that the only free breakfast was free was the “American breakfast” and that we were being charged about $60 for our breakfast each day! When I went to talk with the manager about it, she told me that she had said it was the American breakfast, but she did not. Neither me or my partner hears it. And the second staff member did not say that. And my reservation simply says “free breakfast included.” Nothing more specific than that. And the restaurant staff never said anything to us to clarify. Marta also said that they sent me an SMS text to explain this , but I never received any message from the hotel about this. As we told her this, Marta then tried to tell us that my reservation does not come with feee breakfast at all. Funny that she remembered telling me about my free breakfast 30 seconds earlier. So, I then had to pull out my reservation confirmation to show her clearly that it did come with the breakfast. Not only was I met with a very poor attitude, there was no attempt done to fix the problem and no apology.

I don’t normally write reviews but I just needed to put my experience out there. I wish someone had been honest about the little things in their reviews. First I’d like to say that I don’t think my issues with our stay reflect the staff so much as the property. Everyone is extremely helpful and friendly and wants to make your stay as nice as possible. But I wouldn’t say they stand out as a whole compared to other properties/resorts staff. The property visually is stunning and it’s like it’s own little village with little alleys and pathways. It’s built into the mountain and they utilized the natural surroundings and rock structures in a way we don’t see much in the states. The lighting and other details like the heart trees are beautiful. But beauty doesn’t lead to functionality. Our room was absolutely gorgeous but not easy to move around in. The open air concept in the bathroom is beautiful but I just don’t enjoy taking open air showers. Most properties have a big airy bathroom but the shower has a glass surround that you can choose whether you want some cool air with your shower or not. Ok fine, not a deal breaker. Let’s move on. The bathroom door(s) is floor to ceiling barn door style double door. They bolts slide from one side and to shut the door you have to slide the outside panel past the sink, countertop, which makes it awkward if you just need to pop out to get some thing. Again, not a dealbreaker. Moving on. The view from our room was very unique with a dead palm tree right in the middle. It was still a gorgeous view but we’re at the Waldorf Astoria right??? After staying at a different location for four nights prior to our three day stay at WA, I felt great and well rested. Then we came over to the Waldorf…. Between the mosquitos in our room biting me and the mattress, I did not sleep well. The sitting area in our room made the space super cramped and it was difficult to move around. And the only place to lounge in the room is on the bed. Outside by the plunge pool there is no lounger either which I found disappointing. So the only place we can lounge is the shared pool areas and a few spots on the beach. So the biggest issue I had with our room is how “thin” the walls sound. The people above us kept dragging chairs around and it sounded like they were doing that in our room. People walking by outside when our doors were all shut sounded like they were in our room. Our room was along the route to el Farallon so we heard everyone and their loud conversations going to and from the restaurant. All those things together made it a deal breaker for me. The rest of my issues are just added in for extra flavor and some weren’t exactly the WA’s fault. We ended up being seated next to a family with a crying baby for way too many meals, trying to eat outside in the daytime meant covering your food between bites bc the flies were so bad, and don’t think you’ll get to use the one hot tub they have. It’s TINY. And it’s located in the f

Selected this hotel after considering a number of options in the corridor and San Jose del Cabo. We very much enjoyed our stay. The omnipresent art, friendly staff and unique location were a nice break from our “usual” stays in Los Cabos. The hotel is located on a point with the marina on two sides and views from the rooms generally overlook a small portion of the marina and public beach before the sea of Cortez beyond. The beach club is a short boat ride away with the hotel maintaining a “boat shuttle” service all day. Service at both the rooftop pool and beach club were excellent. The roof top pool is oriented with the long side facing the sea allowing for a great view without feeling too crowded. The beach club is also picturesque and well situated in a cove with light surf. Highly recommend this property as a break from the “normal” resort. The art, ambience and service make this mid-sized hotel feel like a boutique experience.

I’ll start by saying the wait staff and vendors that we hired for our wedding were incredible!! This review is purely on the coordinators Vita Martinez and Elizabeth Perez. We went through 3 different coordinators in a span of 6 months. Sure, maybe not much they could do to control that. What was in their control though was how to handle a seamless transition, with a thorough handoff to the next coordinator. This never happened. We would definitively decide something, they’d still send us a proposal with the wrong info. Vita single handedly ruined our wedding. What should have been the most joyous day of our lives, was marred by her complete lack of professionalism. The first look which is one of the highlights and pinnacles of anyone’s wedding day, was when she decided to tell me that we owed them more money than the 30 some plus thousand we already paid. Mind you this final bill was confirmed several times, the first two times I had to correct their mistakes of not including my initial deposit I paid. Not sure how that’s my responsibility to remind them, but I digress. They’ve known for months and weeks what our final guest count was. They decided on our wedding day at the first look, to say they made a mistake and we weren’t meeting the food and beverage quota and wanted to charge us 3,500 more for premium bar service. Again, this information was brought to my attention the day of and at our first look!! My mood and pictures and video from that moment on are all ruined because of Vita Martinez and Elizabeth Perez. Had they appropriately and professionally approached me about it, I may have paid it willingly even though again they’ve known this info for how long and either chose not to say anything to us, or are that incompetent that they discovered their error the day of. They also charged us 1,000s for a late night snack station including churros in a custom painted cart w a bike. They never delivered the cart that we agreed on, the literal only reason I would ever pay that much for mini churros. The aesthetic instead was mini churros in glass cups. So many other things I can say negatively about them. All I’ll end with is please avoid them at all costs unless you want to feel as if you planned your entire wedding and that they’ll try to squeeze more money out of you on the day of your wedding. Again the only thing that is incredible are the wait staff and bartenders.

Hands down the service was amazing! Immediately the crew that welcomed us when we arrived were on point. Everyone at the rooftop bar and lobby bar were so attentive. However, huge shout out to Gustavo at the pool!! He was over the top!!! He was on it, professional and really went out of his way to make sure my husband & I were well taken cared of. I’m not easily impressed and I definitely noticed his genuine way of service. Hoping he will have other opportunities to move on up at this hotel. Jaime at the pool was great too!! Super helpful and always smiling! I would have given 5 stars, but the hotel rooms really need a deep clean of their floors and sinks. It looks like the grout and tile floors have not had a rigorous cleaning in awhile. The daily housekeeping was done very well…the housekeeping staff were so friendly whenever I needed anything. Overall, great stay!

I went to the hotel with my family for 8 days; before our stay we were sent a mail to detail some details of our stay (preferences in the room and available activities, etc). The hotel is very good and the hotel is very good. There are several restaurants available and the quality of the food is good. The hotel is a very good hotel, and it is a good hotel. The only issue is that because it is not a ”all inclusive” hotel you have to pay for food/drinks; the cost is the same is MUY high, I have hosted 2 hotels in the same chain (San Miguel de Allende and London) and do not follow the same price line. (For example: a toast of tuna for almost $800, a pasta with almost $2000). so it must be taken into account in advance. The hotel is very good for rest and if you know who to do activities, you can make a lot of options during your stay.
