Beautiful Victorian mansion. Immaculate interior. Wonderful Owner/host. Will return and highly recommend to anyone.

We stayed in the Grand Derby room. It was a lot bigger than I expected. It was very cozy and very quiet. I love the little outside sitting area off our room. We stayed three nights and had three breakfasts which all were wonderful. I would definitely recommend.

Our stay at the Bourbon Inn was two years in the making, and it was absolutely worth the wait! Attending the Kentucky Derby was a Bucket List adventure and to do it right required a lodging as iconic as Derby- the Bourbon Inn is that place. We first decided in 2024 that we wanted to attend the 2026 Kentucky Derby, and we knew we had to book early if we had any chance of staying at this renowned six-room bed and breakfast inn. We stayed in touch with Jeff, who owns it with Allen, for two years just to make sure we were first on the waiting list. Jeff was so warm, friendly, and helpful that we felt like friends long before we ever arrived. This B&B far exceeded every expectation we had. It is spotless, beautifully decorated, and full of charm. We especially loved the dining area, and breakfast was nothing short of spectacular. Allen treated us to an unforgettable culinary experience: first, steak and eggs cooked to perfection, and then a rack of lamb and grits that was truly one of the best meals we have ever had. It was such a joy to meet the other guests, all of whom were there for Derby as well. Jeff and Allen made our stay feel like so much more than just a place to sleep — it felt like home. We left with two new dear friends and memories we’ll never forget. As the other TripAdvisor reviews suggest, this is not just any B&B — it is the best there is. If your travels take you to Louisville for the Derby or any other reason, do yourself a favor and stay here. You will not be disappointed.

We were lucky to reserve the last two rooms for the 2026 Kentucky Derby. Our entire stay was incredible due to Allen, host extraordinaire. He has an eye for detail and puts such effort into the way the rooms look to his skills as a chef. These and many are the reasons we are repeat guests. He shares his knowledge of local history and events and includes information on where to shop and dine. The bourbon tastings add to the overall vibe to this beautiful Inn and we look forward to the most outstanding breakfasts every morning which might be his award winning biscuits and gravy. The derby was extra special because of the work and small details he oversaw to ensure we had a pleasurable derby experience. W e look forward to our next visit.

Very pleasant stay. Allen greeted and showed us around the inn. Clean and good attention to details. Breakfast was delicious and they accommodated my dietary request. Took a walk after breakfast to St. James Court. Love the old houses. Easy street parking.

Absolutely loved our stay at Bourbon Inn! It’s such a cute spot with so much charm. Allen and the entire staff are truly amazing—so welcoming and attentive, which made the experience even better. The location is perfect, the drinks were great, and the breakfast was even better (definitely a highlight!). And the bed… unbelievably comfortable. We slept so well! Can’t wait to come back.

Our stay at the Louisville Bourbon Inn was absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived, Allen made us feel so welcome, it’s clear he genuinely cares about what he does, and that energy carries through every part of the experience. The bourbon room was such a fun and unique touch, and the abundance of plants throughout the space adds a cozy, elevated aesthetic that makes you instantly relax. Check-in and check-out were completely seamless, which made everything feel easy and stress-free. And breakfast… wow. The gravy alone is worth the stay—hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. You can absolutely tell it’s award-winning. One of the things we appreciated most was how quiet and private everything felt. You don’t hear other guests at all, which makes the entire experience feel intimate and personal. This was our first time staying at a bed-and-breakfast, and honestly, it set the bar so high I’m not sure anything else will compare. The Louisville Bourbon Inn truly feels like the pinnacle of what a B&B should be.
