This hotel's service is unreasonable, so I recommend not staying there.
I was denied entry by this establishment, and their service was so terrible that I wrote this review. Therefore, I cannot provide any information about what would happen if I were able to stay as normal or the hotel's interior.
I will provide more details.
First, when I checked in, a staff member at Baunchaleurn Guest House (the hotel) informed me that I could not stay. The reason was that the family of the manager, Mr. A, had damaged the room I was supposed to stay in. The staff recommended a nearby accommodation instead, so I went there. Shortly after checking in, Mr. A contacted me and said, "I have arranged for an alternative accommodation (different from the one recommended by the staff), so I would like you to come here." Although it was a hassle, I decided to head to the accommodation recommended by Mr. A. Since it was nearly 1 km away, I considered returning to Baunchaleurn Guest House and asking them to pick me up, but no one was there, including the staff member who had been there before. I had no choice but to call a taxi at my own expense and head to the accommodation recommended by Mr. A. I was able to stay there without any issues. However, I later requested the manager for the taxi fare, but I never heard back.
These are the details.
No matter how you look at it, their response was completely unreasonable: they could have handled and communicated in advance but hadn't done anything until I arrived, there was absolutely no communication between the staff and the manager, and they only contacted me unilaterally and ignored my communications. Of course, I wasn't expecting the kind of polite and courteous service you'd expect from a Japanese hotel, but I was left with the impression that they couldn't even do the bare minimum. The taxi fare was only a little over ¥400, the staff were generally unhelpful (when I was told I was being denied accommodation, I desperately tried to communicate in Lao using Google Translate, but they only responded in broken English), and I didn't want to waste my time on such a problem during my otherwise enjoyable trip. In the end, I left Luang Prabang without complaining. However, I felt uncomfortable just letting it go, so I decided to leave my experience as a review.
