With sacred Mount Phousi as its backdrop Amantaka lies in the centre of picturesque Luang Prabang - Laos spiritual capital. White-walled and green-shuttered the period building retains all the genteel tranquillity of its French-Colonial past with private pools and an expansive spa meeting the needs of contemporary travellers. Taking its name from tipitaka meaning the teaching of the Buddha Amantaka supplies guests with myriad suggestions for cultural and spiritual immersion in Luang Prabang a UNESCO World Heritage Site - from giving alms to monks at dawn to navigating the fabled Mekong on Amantakas boat.
The spa offers holistic massages - body treatments and healing therapies utilising Aman Spas unique chemical-free products.
Laos and French fare feature prominently on the menus served in the white-walled Dining Room or open-air Pool Terrace.
Traditional Laos floral arrangements and music enhance occasions of all kinds whether a private dinner or poolside Laos-style barbecue.

Laos is not a rich country, but luxury hotels seem to be particularly fond of this country, especially Luang Prabang. Among them is Amantaka, which is a must-visit for Aman enthusiasts.
During my half month in Laos, I experienced all the good hotels in this country. As expected, Amantaka is the best. The noble experience begins when the front office manager personally drives to the previous hotel to pick you up. The appearance of every customer service person in the entire hotel seems to be strictly controlled. They are all pure and peaceful, so that wherever you walk in the hotel and meet the staff, you will see the pure and kind smiling faces, which will calm your heart. ,slow down. Although the hotel is located in the center of the city, it is quiet amidst the hustle and bustle. The hotel provides free shuttle tutu service to facilitate guests to explore the ancient city; it also thoughtfully provides free afternoon tea and laundry services. After swimming, you can use the steam and sauna rooms, and the facilities are well equipped. Monks will pass by the hotel entrance, and the hotel will provide free supplies and sticky rice to guests who want to experience alms. The hotel also gives guests woven bags and hats as souvenirs. It was an unforgettable and perfect experience in Amman Targah, and I hope to come back next time for a sunset cruise.

I used the railroad from Vientiane to Luang Prabang for two nights and traveling alone. You can see Dhutanga in front of the hotel. It's a place away from the main street, but it's quiet and comfortable & You can spend it safely. When I asked for a tour to Quanxi Falls the night before, he arranged it immediately. I had card payment NG information before, but it has been improved and cards can be used. It's a compact hotel, but the staff will do their best to follow you on your trip, so you won't have any trouble staying. We recommend using this when visiting Luang Prabang.

The hotel was clean, employees were very helpful and kind. They had refreshments already in our rooms which was very convenient and the best part was they can check in our bags, weight, and get the luggage tag being they had connections we Lao Airlines. That was definitely a plus. We didn’t have to rush to try to get in our bag at all and they take you back to the airport and make sure we knew where we needed to go. I would definitely try this hotel to anyone.

Mybanlao Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The hospitality was exceptional, with a friendly and attentive staff eager to assist. The rooms were not only comfortable but also tastefully decorated, creating a cozy atmosphere. The hotel's amenities, including a well-maintained pool and a delightful restaurant, added to the overall enjoyable experience. Its central location made exploring the local attractions convenient. I highly recommend Laos Mybanlao Hotel for a memorable and delightful stay.
Luang Prabang, located in northern Laos about 300 kilometers from the capital Vientiane, is a renowned historical and cultural city. Famous for its long history, rich cultural heritage, and unique natural scenery, it has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Anlan Hotel, situated in this historic and culturally rich city, is a boutique hotel that blends modern comfort with traditional style. The hotel boasts a prime location close to world heritage sites, making it convenient for guests to explore local temples, cuisine, and natural attractions.
Anlan Hotel provides top-notch services and all essential facilities. Free internet access is available throughout the property to ensure seamless communication during your stay. Parking is provided for guests arriving by car. For the health and well-being of all guests and staff, smoking is permitted only in designated areas.
The poor soundproofing of buildings in Luang Prabang and associated noise issues mainly stem from slow economic development, outdated construction materials and techniques, as well as restrictions on altering historical and cultural structures. Traditional wooden houses retain their rustic charm but have weaker soundproofing. Additionally, the city's compact layout, frequent night markets, and cultural activities further amplify noise disturbances. This is both part of the city's allure and a challenge to visitor comfort.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at anlan, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted with warm smiles and outstanding service. The check-in process was seamless, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed.
What truly sets this hotel apart is the immaculate cleanliness of the rooms. Every corner of my room was spotless, and the attention to detail was remarkable. It felt like I was the first guest to ever stay in that room! The bed was incredibly comfortable, with fresh, crisp linens that made for a perfect night's sleep. The modern amenities, from the high-speed Wi-Fi to the well-appointed bathroom, made my stay even more enjoyable.
Despite the top-notch quality, the room rates were incredibly affordable, offering unbeatable value for money. It’s rare to find a hotel that delivers such high standards without breaking the bank, but Anlan manages to do just that.
The location was also ideal—just a short walk from nearby attractions, making it easy to explore the area without any hassle. Whether you're in town for business or leisure, Anlang provides everything you need for a comfortable and stress-free stay.
If you're looking for a hotel that combines cleanliness, affordability, and exceptional service, look no further than [Hotel Name]. I can't recommend it highly enough and will definitely be returning on my next visit to Luang Prabang!
The hotel is run by people from Shandong, so communication is very convenient; the travel routes recommended by the boss are very reasonable, and the places to eat, drink and have fun are also very cost-effective; the hotel is newly opened, and the courtyard is very warm, and it feels like sitting in the courtyard with a drink. It's very cozy. The bougainvillea paved wall is very beautiful to take pictures. The hotel is located in the center of the city and is very convenient to go out. The highlight is the coconut tree at the door. One tree can produce more than 30 coconuts. It is very close to major tourist attractions and living areas, just a few minutes' walk away; the room is clean and tidy, the bathroom with separate dry and wet bathrooms is well arranged, and there is a washing machine that you can use for free, and you can also dry clothes, which is highly recommended.

Let me start with the advantages: free pick-up and drop-off from the high-speed rail station or the airport, which is great, and the location is not in the core area, which is suitable for those who want to clean up. The hotel has a swimming pool and faces the Mekong River, although there is not much to see in the river.
The disadvantages are: 1. The room facilities are old, the door lock is broken, the bathroom has no door or curtain, the water almost reaches the room after taking a bath, and the sink cannot discharge hot water. 2. The sound insulation is so poor that the sound of running water in the shower next door can be heard clearly, and even louder conversations in the room downstairs can be heard clearly. 3. Although the front desk is Chinese, he is very unprofessional. He sent an address when he checked in, but didn’t explain anything else. He didn’t tell him the address during breakfast time. He didn’t tell him that he had to tell him in advance when cleaning the room. I asked him for his address and his cell phone was not handed to him yet. In front of him, he hurriedly said he didn't know. When I asked him where I could rent a car or a motorcycle, he said don’t rent one, go charter a car. . . 4. Breakfast is a bowl of pork ribs powder with eggs + fruit every day. It is the same every day. There is no milk or bread. I am tired of eating it after staying for three days in a row.
I came here after seeing all the good reviews. I really don’t know where these good reviews came from. Please give me an objective review.
In the millennium old capital of Luang Prabang, there is a unique and modern old-fashioned architectural style hotel - the Lan Xiang Boutique Hotel. The hotel has a superior geographical location and convenient transportation; The hotel covers an area of nearly 7 acres and has spacious and comfortable boutique rooms, each room with an independent and spacious balcony; 180 square meter super large swimming pool, allowing you to enjoy sports fun to the fullest; Two parking lots in front and behind, capable of parking at least 30 beloved cars; The hotel has a wide view, offering a panoramic view of Phu Shuang mountain which is the highest point in Luang Prabang, awakening a beautiful day from nature. Lan Xiang Boutique Hotel is elegant and peaceful, working together with a high-quality service team to ensure that you enjoy delicate care during your stay. Lan Xiang Boutique Hotel in Luang Prabang welcomes you!

This was my first time in Luang Prabang and I was very satisfied with my stay at Lanxiang Boutique Hotel. The house is spacious and bright, the facilities are clean, and the oversized swimming pool is clean and hygienic. The staff are very warm and considerate, and the driver who picks up and drops off the airport is also excellent and very humane. Under the leadership of the front desk manager, all the staff serve the guests wholeheartedly, which is great!
We booked the 2 bedroom apartment and it was immaculate and cosy all at the same time. Double balcony; fully equipped kitchen, open plan dining area and lounge and a very comfortable bed but the absolute highlight for me was the free standing bath (beside the shower big enough for a whole football team). There is secure door entry both at the room and the building, parking available, free bicycles to borrow and they can arrange a scooter too (i think it was 180k LAK a day). There is a washing machine on the balcony whihc is also free to use. Comes in handy after a few hours out in the dust.

Vientiane, Vangvieng, Luang Prabang, we stayed in Vientiane for 8 days. I am most satisfied with this hotel. The decoration and hardware of the new hotel are very good. It is opened by a Chinese and it is very convenient for consultation. The boss, Ah Hui, was very nice. He picked us up and dropped us off, and even sent us a car to take us back to the high-speed rail station. If you have anything you don’t know, just ask him. I will only comment if I am extremely dissatisfied or extremely satisfied. There is such a friendly Chinese hotel in Laos. It's far away from the city, not noisy, and the breakfast is also in Chinese taste. The photo was taken at the hotel, and the perspective is unparalleled. I will stay here again next time I come to Luang Prabang, and will also recommend it to relatives and friends.

Outstanding
GGuest UserI cannot express enough gratitude for the Sofitel team in Luang Prabang for creating such a warm, welcoming and accommodating stay. Across all departments, the staff went above and beyond, and collectively set a new standard for Service. Most notably Vard, Leng, Mr. Kao and Youth at the front desk, Mr. Umni, Keili and Souk from F&B and Mr. Anshul Sharma, the hotel Manager, who has done an exceptional job at leading the team and making the Sofitel, Luang Prabang a must stay haven in South East Asia. The hotel grounds were picturesque and serene, the rooms tastefully designed with ample space to luxuriate, the food (particularly breakfast) at Governors Grill delicious and fresh. But above all, the service was unlike any hotel I have stayed. From remembering the small details of our personal preferences, to recommending the best activities and experiences, to assisting with a medical emergency - my partner and I felt truly cared for. I am deeply grateful for such a beautiful and memorable Christmas and New Year, and we already look forward to our return!
JJason2023Nice setting with lotus ponds and bridge, lots of trees, flowers, gravel winding paths and hidden seating areas.
The pool is small but had lots of available comfy seating and was very clean.
Breakfast is in a beautiful setting and the service and food were excellent. The menu has lots of options.
Excellent service from reception to housekeeping - the complimentary water, fruit baskets and night time cookies were appreciated.
Free bicycle hire and reception can organise trips.
The location is okay, a 5-10 minute walk to the main area but that gives you an experience of local life as you pass through the narrow streets.
There was some road noise - motorbikes etc but im not sure where you can avoid this in Luang Prabang or even SE Asia. If you are bothered by it, ear plugs will be useful.
No noise from any neighbours.
The room was a good size with a big balcony overlooking the gardens. Lots of stuff provided e.g toiletries, safe, tea, 3 in 1 coffee - you don't need to bring. (Cant remember seeing a razor but tbh hotel ones are never good so i bring my own).
TIP: try not to rely on ATMs here, the charges are expensive. Either bring your own currency and exchange at one of the banks here (i got a good rate) or bring Kip. Many places also accept Thai baht and some US $.
The hotel has water so being mosquito spray (housekeeping also offered this).
GGenya2kI had a very comfortable time in this place. What amazed me the most was the service provided by the host. He offered me a bigger room than the one I booked, then in the evening took me to the downtown and back by scooter (I didn’t want to walk in the dark on my first night), and in the morning he took me to a bike rental and helped to get the best deal. Very kind and friendly! The room was great, spacious and quiet, well-maintained and clean. I also could do my laundry for free, and dry my clothes at the backyard. The location is tad remote from the downtown but I preferred it this way, tranquil and more local. Also, there’s an amazing pizza place on the same street, you have to check it out! Wishing the best of luck to the owners!
CChaojiuwanwuDonageRaGood: The staff are fantastic—truly helpful and have the perfect attitude. They genuinely assist in solving any issues, rather than just pretending to. The breakfast is great as well.
Bad: The rooms, though spacious, suffer from absurd design. Indeed, the open bathrooms and toilet doors with large gaps provide no privacy (noise and smell), as they each open directly into the bedroom. If one person is sleeping, they will be disturbed if the other goes to the bathroom during the night or wakes up earlier. Even more problematic is that the light for both the open shower and the toilet is controlled by the same switch. This means that if someone uses the toilet at night, the light for the shower, which has a glass door facing the room, also turns on, making it impossible not to wake the other person.
The second issue is the single-pane windows, which fail to block out external noise. Since the hotel is located right on a main road, it becomes noisy as early as 6:00 AM, even with the windows closed, due to the sound of motorcycles common in the area.
If you're traveling alone and aren't too bothered by morning noise, this is a perfectly acceptable option.
My advice to the owner: You have a fantastic team, so take advantage of that and invest in improving the room design. This is your part.
LLeighExcellent Hotel in Luang Prubang, recently refurbished so all the facilities are clean and well presented. Staff at the hotel are extremely helpful. The selection and quality of the Breakfast is good too.
Highly recommend this hotel
GGuest UserGot off to a bad start with my t/f to guest house not in attendance on airport arrival despite landing 20 mins late. The water in shower was only tepid and no hot water for shaving. Breakfast for the extra 40,000kip[US$2.50] was adequate with unlimited tea/coffee. On arrival was placed in wrong room then moved to other side which was above the carpark and near the main road. Room was well appointed, no fridge or tea/coffee facility and house keeping good with consistent time each day[2pm]. The location was the most disappointing being on wrong side of river and having to cross the bamboo bridge to the tourist area on other side. There was only one main restaurant near g/h and as a result was very popular overlooking river.
SSNYDERThe hotel was very nice with traditional decor and conveniently located at the city center and easy walking distance to the night market and other nearby landmarks and tourists attractions. The breakfast was very simple, though satisfying and made according to the set menu items you select. Service quality was very good and helpful and front desk staff spoke English.
MmarkAlthough the hotel probably offers about the same as most others in the area and is comfortable enough, this review is affected by several negative aspects. First, the room I reserved and paid for was not the same as the one allocated to me. Reserved a premium double Room allocated was a standard twin. Can only assume the proprietor didn't bother to cofirm that the booking detail natched up with the room provuded. I had forgotten what I had actually paid for and only came to realise it was different after I had unpacked. The specified features of the premium room included a 'private spa', balcony and queen sized bed, all absent. Refrigerator did not work. The room I received was priced about $12 per day less than what I paid for. Free breakfast is included and provided by a separate restaurant on the Mekong (nothing special but OK). Another seemingly minor but annoying aspect was the lack of hot water. No kettle provided but there was a water dispenser with hot water option which also did not work.
The reserved room with balcony was upstairs, however was shunted very quickly upon check-in into a standard twin room situated 3m from the reception desk. Not the end of the world but in hindsight irritating and just took the edge off my stay in Luang Prabang. Overall not too bad but overpriced, especially considering the items absent or malfunctioned.
GGuest UserThe location is not bad, not far from the morning market and night market, and you can see alms around the corner. Because of a mistake, the boss gave a round-trip ticket to Kansai Falls, which is great! The color of the room is a bit dark, the room space is a bit small, and the suitcase is a little hard to open, but the bed is very big, and the guy at the front desk is very cute~ Breakfast is bread, you can eat enough!
