I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Lucknow, and while it has a promising location near the airport, unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The hotel is well-built, but the lack of cleanliness and hospitality makes it far from a pleasant stay.
We checked in around 10:30 PM and were initially assigned rooms that were far from up to standard. To our surprise, they were on a smoking floor, which we didn’t request. After raising the issue, they did move us to another floor, but the new room wasn’t much better. The cleanliness was subpar – there were food crumbs, residue on the table, and leftover trash on the floor, including pom poms, lentils, and clothing tags from previous guests. The blankets were visibly dirty as well.
Despite the disappointing room conditions, I’ll give credit to the fact that the hotel is freshly built, and the location is convenient for those traveling to or from the airport. The breakfast spread was also quite good, which is a redeeming factor.
However, the overall experience was disappointing, especially from a brand like IHG. It’s hard to consider this hotel as part of the IHG family when it fails to meet basic cleanliness standards. I strongly feel that the hotel needs a proper audit and closer inspection from headquarters to ensure better management and guest satisfaction. Unfortunately, I would not recommend staying here unless improvements are made.
