The bedding was excellent, and some of the logos were very well-designed. The bookstore had a retro feel, a great atmosphere, and many books from international publishers. The fireplace window was large, offering a good view of the flickering flames. It was crowded at night, not with customers, but with the owner Jun's friends; it was very lively. If you can join in, you'll feel transported back to the 80s and experience local life. If not, you'll feel sad at night.

Thinking back to Jun-ge's bookstore and youth hostel brings back so many memories. On my first night, I met over a dozen of Jun-ge's friends. We drank and chatted. Guests from all over the country, along with locals from Luoping, talked about everything under the sun. Jun-ge's bookstore had an exceptional collection, with a vast number of books and magazines published in Taiwan, many of which were rare collectibles from over a decade ago. I often spent entire days reading in the hostel, finding it very rewarding. I highly recommend it, and I will definitely go back to see Jun-ge again.

This is the most artsy hostel I've ever stayed in. The hostel is just past a bookstore. There's also a delicious lamb rice noodle place nearby. This is a perfect time to visit the Kowloon Waterfalls!

Extremely satisfied. A cozy little courtyard with three adorable cats 🐱. The owner is very artistic and even kindly drove me to the tourist bus station and helped me book a hostel at my next destination. Thank you so much 🙏. I highly recommend this place.

I can't believe it's 2025, and there are still such wonderful hostels in China: bookstores, music, drinks, courtyards, and incredibly cool owners... a cultural utopia in Luoping County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province. It's a haven of cleanliness, a great location, excellent amenities, and a remarkably quiet environment. I hope Luoping 97 Bookstore Hostel stays open for a hundred years! Right now, I'm at Guiyang Longdongbao Airport T3 Terminal, about to board a Xiamen Airlines flight back to Nanjing. Yunnan, Guizhou, and Sichuan are a hub of delicious food and a gathering place for all kinds of culinary experts. This isn't my first time here, and it won't be my last. By the way, the hostel owner told me about the Time YHA Hostel in Yongyuan Alley next to the Presidential Palace in Nanjing. That's where my stays at China International Youth Hostels began, the place where a beautiful dream started... I miss the pre-pandemic hostel era, cherish everything I have now, and look forward to the future. Attached is a picture: the sunset I saw from the owner's rooftop that night.
