Summary: The location is excellent and the price is affordable, but the overall experience of staying here is not good. If we hadn't already paid for 2 nights and had no time and energy to search for other hotels, we would have really wanted to check out and change hotels on the night of our stay...
The following are the evaluations made on various aspects for your reference
(I forgot to take photos during my stay, so the photos attached below are directly copied and pasted from the photos provided by the booking website)
Place:
Excellent, right next to "Cross Street", within 30 seconds walk to the main street of Cross Street. It is also close to "Lijingmen". You can get there by walking along one of the directions of the cross street. There are shops and stalls along the way, so it is easy and convenient to walk around.
transportation:
~ Public Transportation - There is a subway station within a 10-minute walk.
~Taxi - Cars are not allowed to enter the cross street. To take a taxi, you need to walk for 5-10 minutes to the avenue outside the cross street to get on and off.
p/s: The overall road of Cross Street is not very flat, part of it is gravel road, and there are some low railings, so it is difficult to drag a large suitcase (an ordinary 28-inch suitcase can be dragged over the low railings; a square fat suitcase of 28 inches or above cannot be dragged over the low railings, and can only be carried over the low railings)
Life functions:
Because it is right at the crossroads, there are drug stores, restaurants, snack bars, boutiques, beverage stores, clothing stores, and fast food restaurants. Luoyang's famous Peony Pavilion, Xiaofang Tea Shop, Chai Ding Handicraft, Wrapped Gluten, Extra Fragrant Big Plate Chicken, etc. are all within a 10-minute walk.
Hotel Facilities:
~ The hotel used to be a makeup business. There was a row of 3-4-seat dressing tables and chairs in the lobby, but it was empty during our stay. There was also a small reception desk for hotel staff, and behind that was the staircase.
~There are no shared facilities, such as no elevator (but hotel staff will help guests carry their luggage during check-in and check-out), no hot or cold drinking water, no washing machine or dryer, no public toilet... In short, all guests can get is what is provided in the room.
p/s: One day, two friends both had stomach discomfort and needed to go to the toilet at the same time. One of them used the toilet in the room, and the other wanted to use other toilets in the hotel. However, the hotel staff said that the hotel had no extra toilets and all the rooms were full, so we could not use the toilets in other rooms (although we saw on the booking website that there were actually rooms available that day).
I'm not blaming the hotel, I just want to say that it's really inconvenient that there is no toilet in the hotel lobby! I didn’t think this was an important consideration before, but I was shocked when I encountered this situation this time. From now on, whenever there are 2 or more people staying, I will include it as one of the necessary conditions for choosing a hotel.
Hotel Rooms:
~ Overall it was clean and bright, but for a 4-person room (2 double beds), the space was still very small, not enough space to lay out 3 28-inch suitcases (all were front-opening suitcases, so they only needed to be laid out, not spread out 5:5, but even so there was still not enough space);
~ Although the room provides several hangers, there are only 2 hooks on the wall. Normally, if there are 4 people living in a 4-person room, the 4 people's bath towels cannot be hung separately. They will be stacked together, which is difficult to dry and not very hygienic, not to mention hanging other coats and clothes;
~ The floor is ordinary marble floor. It is very cold even if you step on it with socks in mid-March. You need to wear the disposable indoor slippers provided by the hotel.
~ The bathroom has no dry and wet separation, and there are no hooks to hang clothes or towels. There is only a shelf above the toilet for bath towels and face towels, which is a bit cramped to use. At the same time, there is no small platform or shelf in the bathroom to place toiletries. You can only put toiletries such as shower gel and shampoo on the toilet, which is a very bad experience.
~ The room has an external window, but opposite the window is an abandoned building, which is very old and dilapidated. I dare not open the window or draw the curtains at all. It feels very bad;
~ The room provides a projector, but almost all programs, whether it is music, variety shows, dramas, movies... require additional fees, and it is difficult to find suitable content to play;
~ The room is equipped with a hair dryer, kettle, bottled mineral water, etc., but the hair dryer, kettle, clothes hanger hook and wash basin are all in the same area. The space is very small and it is very inconvenient to use.
