From the moment I arrived I was well taken care of at Nirvana resort. The accommodations were fabulous. Everything was clean and so comfortable and the view nothing short of spectacular. The cabins are perfectly placed to to wake up to the sun coming over the mountains and I was lucky enough to get the end cabin and could hear the river which lulled me to sleep every night. The owner kindly helped me find hiking routes and drive me to good spots to start. He also arranged a taxi into town and my next destination (Langmusi) The entire staff was friendly and kind. Great service and delicious food. AND couldn’t ask for a better spot to practice yoga in the morning . The only bad part was having to leave after 3 days. I hope I can make it back here someday !

I booked a room a Sana Hotel in late June of 2021. From my stay, I found that Sana Hotel will provide a clean room and shower with ample hot water. Here are the things you will NOT get at Sana Hotel: No tea No coffee No breakfast No soap No laundry service No daily room cleaning The last one, I'll admit, made me a bit agitated, as I'd come back to my room from a long hike during late afternoon, and I assumed I'd be walking into a cleaned bathroom with fresh towels and my bed made-up. Although I then tried conveying to them that I wanted my room made-up, they feigned confusion, so I then called Tibetan Overseas Hotel in Xiahe, and asked one of the staff there to explain to Sana Hotel I wanted the room done. Reluctantly, they did, and continued to do so for the rest of my stay. However, I say they ”feigned” ignorance because the day after I arrived, several other travellers showed up - although all Chinese - and they cleaned their rooms. So I really can't say why they wouldn't initially do so for me. If all you're looking for is a clean room with a good shower, and you don't care about breakfast, or buying your own toiletries, or having you room cleaned daily, then Sana Hotel will be fine. If you want these things, however, you should look elsewheere.
