Sonesta St. George Hotel - Convention Center

The room was pretty good. I'd heard that even five-star hotels in Egypt had pilling on their sheets and duvet covers, but this hotel didn't. The bedding was very comfortable, and the Nile River view was excellent. After a boat trip in the afternoon, we could be dropped off directly at Sonesta St. George Hotel - Convention Center, which was very convenient. Sitting in the square behind the hotel's pool in the evening, enjoying the breeze and watching the Nile sunset, was absolutely beautiful.

The room facilities are a bit old, and the toiletries weren't super clean, but it's still considered good for Luxor. The staff's service attitude was excellent, and the hotel has comprehensive amenities. The Japanese restaurant also had pretty good food.

The cleanliness wasn't top-notch, but the reception immediately intervened and gave us a room with much better amenities.

This hotel has an old-school charm, and the balcony offers a nice view.

This is a pretty good hotel in Luxor. The rooms are average, but I'm giving it five stars because they offer a felucca ride for just $7 per person. The hotel service is also quite good, and there's a Chinese restaurant across the street with decent food. The location is also alright. However, a special friendly warning: the old man who runs the felucca is a scammer. He offered to take us to see Nile crocodiles for 100 RMB, saying it would take an hour and a half. I immediately envisioned wild crocodiles, but I was completely duped. We ended up seeing the single captive crocodile from the pictures for 100 RMB.

Three of us booked a deluxe room overlooking the Nile, which came with a very large double bed. The extra rollaway bed was provided free of charge. The balcony offered an absolutely stunning view of the Valley of the Kings, which was truly breathtaking. It's also worth mentioning that the hotel's breakfast was delicious. On our second morning, we were heading to the Valley of the Kings early and wouldn't have time for breakfast, so we asked the front desk if we could take it away. To our surprise, they packed each of us a huge breakfast box containing bread, pastries, a small drink, and water. When we returned, it was still breakfast time, so we even managed to enjoy another meal at the breakfast restaurant. Aside from the water in the toilet being a little yellowish on the second day, our overall experience was excellent!

Although we had booked for two people, the reservation was only for one, but they were able to accommodate us. It was a shame that we ended up with a duplicate hotel booking because of this belated adjustment. We wanted to use the pool, but a local kept bothering us to buy drinks, and even after declining repeatedly, they were persistent. By the time they finally left, the sunset was gone, so we barely got to swim.

Extremely satisfied! This hotel feels like a completely different world from the outside. The service, location, room size, and views are all top-notch. A special, heartfelt thank you to Manager Wahid, who provided us with the utmost assistance. Our flight was delayed until 8:50 PM, and after a hot and tiring day visiting the temples, we had nowhere to go. We asked the front desk if we could pay for a late check-out, and dear Manager Wahid immediately offered us a complimentary extension until 5 PM! I was not only shocked but also incredibly grateful when I heard that! I will strongly recommend this hotel to all Chinese and international travelers. They truly care about their guests, a world apart from those who try to scam you outside. You definitely won't regret coming here!
