Steigenberger Achti Resort Luxor

Honestly, for Luxor, this is a pretty good hotel. Even though the entrance is full of horse manure and urine, and taxi drivers waiting to overcharge you, once you step inside, you get to enjoy the beautiful Nile view and a unique sense of peace. Breakfast is decent, but lunch and dinner are incredibly expensive and not very good – I'd recommend eating out.

I was a bit worried after seeing some negative reviews online before coming, but my actual experience far exceeded expectations. The front desk lady was very sweet; she prepared our room in advance and even upgraded us to a Nile view room. We immediately decided to extend our stay for another night to properly rest. This was the rare hotel where we stayed two consecutive nights during our trip to Egypt. In the morning, you can comfortably watch hot air balloons take off from the West Bank right from your balcony. We didn't book breakfast, but my friend had dinner at the hotel restaurant and said the food was good.

The front desk staff, OLA, was incredibly warm and friendly, and she even spoke Chinese. 3. The front desk staff were difficult to communicate with. They gave me a really inconvenient room, and I had to carry my luggage up to the second floor myself. Overall, the hotel's service attitude wasn't great. Don't ask the front desk for extra water; they charge for it. It's better to ask the cleaning staff directly. The hotel is quite old and not very big. It gets very cold and windy in winter.

My trip to Luxor was fantastic, largely thanks to this hotel. Located on the east bank of the Nile, it's not super close to the city center, requiring a taxi, which contributes to its peaceful ambiance. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but the public areas and gardens are beautifully maintained. The main restaurant and pool face directly onto the Nile, offering stunning views of hot air balloons rising over the West Bank in the mornings and breathtaking Nile sunsets in the evenings. My city-view room had a balcony overlooking the lobby garden. While the room's facilities were quite retro, the lighting dim, and the AC a bit noisy, the bed was large and incredibly comfortable. The bathtub was perfect for a relaxing soak, and bottled water was replenished daily (though you have to ask for toiletries). Overall, the service was excellent. Staff were proactive in helping with luggage, and getting a taxi was incredibly convenient – just register the license plate at the front desk for access through the gate. Finally, a special thank you to Walid. My suitcase was damaged, and Mr. Walid proactively came to my room with tools to help repair it, all while engaging in a friendly chat. His warm and attentive service was deeply appreciated, as was the service from every staff member at Steigenberger. Luxor is a beautiful place. Visiting its magnificent sites and meeting such kind people made me incredibly nostalgic. I will definitely be back.

Excellent! Great location, very close to all the temples. The surroundings are lovely, right by the Nile River. Breakfast was a little subpar, but acceptable. Hope to visit Luxor again sometime!

Excellent! The hotel's views are fantastic, especially at sunset – absolutely breathtaking. You can take a sunset cruise directly from the hotel, but it's quite pricey. If you walk out the main gate and turn left, there's an older gentleman near the horses who offers the same experience for only 500.
