Luxury Hotels in Dali City

"Honestly, I wasn't going to write a review. As a victim of the only plane that had to turn back over Dali that day, my two-night stay was cut to one. Not only was my time at the hotel halved, but I also missed out on the room type I really wanted, so I wasn't in the mood to write anything. However, all that negative emotion slowly melted away at Huoshan. Mr. Baxun is truly amazing; it feels like his work is a masterpiece, integrating his cultural feelings and thoughts into the architecture. It's a reflection on the connection between people and the land, and the land and its objects. Every detail is worth pondering, bringing to mind Shuanglang and the romantic scenery of Dali. It's not just the intricate hard-furnishing details and the ever-changing views; the taste is evident in every small detail: the three-dimensional floral raft is a letter from the mountains, with flowers blooming there; the laundry bag is a small, practical linen bag (I once stayed at Muxi Dali Erhai and their canvas bag was the best hotel canvas bag I'd ever seen – so practical! Huoshan's linen bag is also practical, perfect for shoes)... Leaving with some regrets just means there's a reason to return. The room I didn't get to stay in this time leaves me with something to look forward to at Huoshan. Everyone had a great service attitude, and the female manager in the restaurant was especially enthusiastic."

"So many hotels by Erhai Lake in Dali, it was hard to choose! I didn't want to stay in the ancient city, so I picked the Pullman. When we checked in, the hotel upgraded our room. The hotel's location is super convenient for food, accommodation, and getting around. Haiyan Restaurant is close by, and there's a fruit store right downstairs. The hotel breakfast offered a wide variety, including local specialties, which was fantastic! The toiletries were L'Occitane Verbena series, and there was a Dyson hairdryer. After our room upgrade, they even gave us a seat reservation card for breakfast – truly top-notch service! The private car service provided by the hotel was excellent. The car was new and clean, and the driver was very genuine and knowledgeable. He took us to a local restaurant with authentic specialties in Xizhou, helped us avoid tourist traps, and dropped us off right at the entrance of every attraction, saving us a lot of walking. I'm so glad we canceled the car service I booked on another platform. Next time I visit, I'll definitely choose the Pullman again."

"Two days before check-in, I received a call asking about my preferences. Upon entering the lobby, there was a very strong aroma of bread. At check-in, I was immediately upgraded to a higher floor. I booked the 140° sea view, which I personally found better than the 180° – it's cheaper, the view is just as good, and the room is much larger than the 180°. Many people say the room layout is strange, but my actual stay experience was excellent and perfectly aligned with IHG's positioning for Indigo. As a member, I could redeem two glasses of white wine with my drink voucher in the lobby. I really want to highlight the pool and gym here; they're on the top floor of the hotel, offering fantastic views and even equipped with a hot spring pool. It's really refreshing to swim and then soak. I have to say, the Indigo guest services team has a great service mindset; they proactively ask about needs and resolve them quickly."

"Nestled against the breathtaking Cangshan Mountains, this hotel boasts a beautiful environment. The front desk, room service, and restaurant staff are all incredibly professional and enthusiastic. The rooms are spotless, well-maintained, and fully equipped. I especially loved the beautiful Bai ethnic embroidery decorations throughout the hotel. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of fresh and delicious options, including some fantastic local specialties. We dined at the hotel's Chinese restaurant for several evenings, and every dish was consistently excellent. The Yunnan-style soy sauce chicken at the Chinese restaurant is particularly unique and delicious. On sunny days, enjoying a cup of tea on the room's balcony while gazing at Erhai Lake was incredibly relaxing. The hotel has its own parking lot, making travel very convenient. It's a short drive to the ancient city, Cangshan Cableway, Xizhou, and Erhai Lake. Just outside the hotel, a short walk to the left, there are numerous coffee shops and restaurants along the street. I will definitely choose Hilton again on my next visit to Dali."

"The location is fantastic, directly across from the Dali Ancient City Tourist Center. There's a large open space in front of the tourist center, making it very convenient for taxis and parking, though it can get a bit congested during peak hours. It's a super short walk, only about 100 meters, from the hotel to the south gate of Dali Ancient City. The hotel service is also excellent. The concierge staff (young women) are incredibly warm and attentive. Any questions I had were answered quickly via WeChat. I feel their service is comparable to Haidilao. You can see the specific services offered in the pictures; there are so many! For laundry and drying, you don't even have to do it yourself; just give your dirty clothes to the concierge, and they'll return them clean the next day. Every morning, breakfast not only includes a buffet selection but each person can also order a freshly prepared main dish. I think the Zajiang Ersi (noodles with fried sauce) is the best. Although Ersi is made from rice, its texture is quite unique – sticky, moist, not slippery, and a bit chewy. The fried mini sesame balls and fried date balls from the self-serve breakfast are delicious, and the sliced, juicy sausages are also very good. See the pictures for more details. The room is super spacious, the bed is huge, and the TV is a pop-up type hidden in a cabinet (Room 106). The afternoon tea is also incredibly exquisite, featuring flower cakes, preserved fruits, fresh fruit, cookies, and three different types of tea. I'll definitely stay here again if I come back to Dali."

"This hotel is absolutely wonderful! The ambiance is elegant, and the rooms are spacious and bright. It's very quiet, and there are plenty of relaxation areas where you can enjoy a pot of tea – it's incredibly pleasant! After all the stress from work, this vacation with my family instantly felt restorative. The air quality is also excellent! The front desk staff provided outstanding service; they were so warm and welcoming. The room even came with a variety of snacks and fruits. My child was super happy, eating dragon fruit while taking a bath, she said it was amazing! Breakfast had a great variety, and the noodles were delicious too. We just took our time, strolled around, and enjoyed the sights."

"We originally booked a luxury private hot spring room, but due to a circuit malfunction, we were upgraded to the presidential suite. It was very spacious, but located in an independent villa area where we were the only guests. It was a bit scary at night, as the saying goes, 'a wild boar can't appreciate fine bran' (meaning it was too grand for us, haha). The hotel's scenery is actually quite nice, and the staff are very enthusiastic. The facilities could use some improvement. Most accommodations in Dali are guesthouses, and good hotels are indeed rare. Overall, I'm still satisfied."

"Staying three nights in Haidong, I got to enjoy different views of Erhai Lake from my room every day, and I even luckily witnessed the Tyndall effect! The hotel is in a prime location in Wenbi Village. Walking uphill, there's the popular 'Dali 270-degree Seaview' cafe, and downhill, you'll find various dining options, which is very convenient. The hotel's Mediterranean design style is simple and chic, perfect for photos, especially the multiple photo spots on the rooftop – truly a design hotel! Throughout my stay, the butler provided comprehensive care, from breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening desserts to airport drop-off service. The attention to detail made me feel incredibly comfortable. Thank you 🙏"

"My Dali trip began with 'Longing For' and ended with 'Beautiful as Dawn.' To describe Erhai Lake, I think 'Beautiful as Dawn' is the perfect song. Gazing from the hotel's terrace, the calm lake shimmered like silk, and in that moment, all pretense felt cured, everything, like dawn, could start anew. The hotel is run by four young people, two men and two women. Some are shy, some are talkative, but all share sweet smiles. From helping with luggage upon arrival to the daily afternoon tea and bedtime desserts, and being on call for anything in Wenchuan Village. Their humility, gentleness, and friendliness give Wu'er a unique charm in a city where guesthouses are fiercely competitive. The room was clean and the bedding spotless, even satisfying my germaphobic tendencies. The food was delicious, distinctive yet inclusive, very unique but also accommodating. The anxiety I felt on the way here, seeing all the 'influencer-style' guesthouses halfway up the mountain, melted away the moment I saw my tastefully decorated room. I was here for a vacation, and it would have been a shame if it didn't live up to expectations. I'm so glad I chose Wu'er. On my last night, I booked dinner at the hotel again. While waiting for my meal, I sat in the common area, admiring the beautiful view outside the window. Reflecting on all the drivers, guests, and proprietors I'd met over the past few days, I felt this trip was truly worthwhile. I'll cherish all these beautiful memories as I move on to my next journey. I increasingly believe: 'survival is elsewhere, life is here, in this moment, in Dali.' Li Jian's songs were playing, and on a whim, I went to ask the lady if she could play 'Beautiful as Dawn.' She smiled and agreed. And so, what I heard, what I saw, and what I thought were all filled with beauty."

"We had an amazing time at Aranya resort. Had to booked this pretty last min cause the previous accommodation cancelled on us 1 week before the trip. The accommodation is located higher than ground level - which is only accessible by car. But you get a clear view of erhai lake. Room was big and spacious, with basic necessity included. Only drawback is no shelter from the time you alight the car to the room, and weather was erratic during our time there, hence there were times we got drenched."
