Villa Maria

Overall good place to stay with good view and great location , walking distance from train station saves bus fares. You could walk the famous promenade straight to the villa. Bed was comfy and blankets fluffy.

The self-check-in was easy to do. The room and bathroom were very clean and large. The bed was very nice and soft. I had a view to the lake in top floor, that was super! I wrote an email about the breakfast to the boss and he answered me very soon.

Stayed at the Hotel Villa Maria for several days and truly enjoyed our stay. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodated all our needs. We had the two room suite which was very clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. Location was also excellent since you could walk into town, train station or take the bus a few feet down the road. Would stay here again!

The staff were extremely helpful when I wanted to change my reservation, which had been done through a 3rd party. The lounge and the kitchen in the basement meant that you could make breakfast or simple meals if you wanted to. The rooms were comfortable and clean and were serviced daily. It was a quick trip into the old town or the train station on the buses or a 1/2hour flat walk. The city of Lucern enables free bus travel during your stay which is a great bonus to visitors.

Wonderful, easy check-in, great location, very clean, cool design, great lake view. Will definitely return. Booked on air bnb. A little outside of town but easly reachable by bus or car. No Réception, all solved with online check-in and onlocation high-tech. Great!

This was a disappointing experience. Pros : 1) Easy check -in by following their emailed directions. 2) Bus stop is very close to the Villa.. can catch the bus very comfortably from outside Lucerne Train station. 3) The salon in the basement is a good idea...but feels very deserted and spooky at night tho. 4) Nice riverside walkway accessible from next to the villa...lovely Cons : 1) Located quite far away from station - definitely not possible to walk with luggage or if it's raining. 2) On website they keep saying it's just around the corner from Beau Sejour - not true - it's a good 8/10 minutes walk. Which is ok otherwise but if it's raining and wet and cold...it's no fun. 3) No attendants or service at all at Villa Maria - it's a completely self service hotel - which sucks if you need anything... 4) I had reminded the housekeeping to replenish the drinking water in my room, she even nodded ok and then there was no water in the room!! And of course no room service or housekeeping on call to ask for it later. 5) Furnishings are bare bones and very average...sofa had some stain on it that put me off. 6) So called complimentary mini bar was just chips and some packaged bun was kept there...neither the snacks nor the water was replenished on the second day. They had kept some drinks - but I did'nt have any of those. 7) Breakfast at Beau Sejour was also just average to be honest....I don't think it merits the kind of praise I read about it in some reviews - just a poached egg option and then lots of breads and cheeses and cold cuts and cereals ...no other warm dishes.

Lovely breakfast at Beau Sejour. Modern comfortable cosy room. Some rooms face the highway but we had a nice sleep. Bring some ear plugs just in case. There is a Well equipped kitchen in the basement

We had a wonderful stay. You can’t find a cleaner villa. Impeccable. The bed was very comfortable as well, and the shower…divine. We stayed in room #2 and enjoyed the lovely view of the lake from the balcony. Ate twice at Trivoli. Don’t miss their ribs, salads and pizza, just a 5 minute stroll away. Eat and drink and then go jump in the lake!
