Meininger Hotel Lyon Centre Berthelot

We got a taxi from the airport to the hotel as it was almost as cheap as five of us getting the bus. We were much too early to check in but there is a room to leave luggage (for a small charge). There is also a bar which also serves hot drinks. The room is brightly decorated and comfortable. The shower was great and bathroom clean and a good size. There is no automatic housekeeping - you have to help if you want something. This didn't really bother us. The area around the hotel is not the best but we always felt safe. We didn't have breakfast but there is a continental breakfast available for extra cost and there is a guest kitchen where you could make your own. However there are a couple of delicious bakeries round the corner. The metro is fairly easy - a short walk and it takes you into the old town which is lovely and has lots of restaurants.

Sometimes looks can be deceptive in a positive way. I chose the hotel mainly because of its location in Lyon, which is perfect. Albeit some people have described it as an upmarket hostel, and the decor is somewhat industrial, with some weird colour choices, this is very unfair. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and well worth the extra charge. But, best of all, the staff were helpful and a joy to deal with. I have paid a lot more for something with a lot more stars and received a lot worse. I'd happily stay here again.

We had a great stay. The rooms was perfect size, were clean and the ammenities were in good condition. The place was situated with easy access to transport and had a great vibe.

The location is good, very close to public transportation. Staff are very friendly, especially Muhammed is very hospitable and friendly. Good thing about Meininger hotels is that there is a shared kitchen and washing machine that guests can use it. the pillows in the rooms can be improved, this is not only about this branch. the pillows in Meininger hotels are not the best ones.

Spacious room, comfortable beds and a good size bathroom with a decent shower. Breakfast is well priced with good varieties. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location, very close to two tram lines T1 & T2. Lots of places to eat nearby.

Great value for money. Really helpful staff at the 24-hours reception. Costanza did everything she could to make our stay excellent. The neighbor has plenty of place for eat and drink. The hotel is close to railway, but windows are soundproof.
