Baa atoll is one of the most favourite destinations for tourists in Maldives. Baa atoll is the home for Hanifaru bay biosphere reserve. B. Maalhos is just few minutes speed boat ride from Maalhos. Thundi Village guesthouse is right on the beautiful beach of Maalhos. If you want to see the real Maldivian life style and enjoy a beautiful sandy beach, Maalhos is the place to be. Thundi Village offers comfy rooms at a reasonable price. You can choose bed and breakfast. Also buffet dinner is available. Maalhos island also have several small cafes you can choose to have your meals. Staff at Thundi Village are very nice and helpful. We stayed at Thundi Village in December 2023, enjoyed our stay. We would love to come back.

Great place and very good value for money ! The staff is very friendly and helpful and the location beautiful. They organised some trips for us and arranged the transportation from and to Male. We also enjoyed the food at the hotel. I’d definitely come back to Thundi village.

We just returned from Thundi Village in Maalhos and already miss being there ....our week at Thundi Village was just perfect. We have two kids and we had two very spacious rooms, connected by an internal door. The hotel is new and very clean, the food is gorgeous. The staff is absoluty amazing. We had a great full body massage at the hotel spa and we also bought a dolphins cruise....that was really spectacular...we saw dolphins and even pilot whales. The beach is this just perfect long white beach with a fantastic Water, the best one we have ever been...the type of beach you see in postcards and dream of. Morover, we were most of the time alone in this amazing beach. Thank you to Thundi's owner and to his staff, we felt really welcomed and cared for.

Location, location, location Thundi has the best location ever, just steps from a beautiful beach and a house reef for snorkeling full of marine life. We have even seen dolphins at the beach in front of the hotel. We just loved our week there, went out for many excursions, sandbank, desert island, Hanifaru bay twice ( the most beautiful experience ever with more than 50 mantas), dolphins swimming excursion (amazing and we even saw a manta again). Just seconds to the bikini beach, good Wi-Fi, simple but tasteful food. Good room with all comfort and a nice porch to leave the beach stuff and watch the sea! But the best is the staff, Muba and all people are extremely kind and helpful and they could set everything for you, transfers in/out and excursions! Me and my family spent one week on Maalhos, and stayed in Thundi. Thundi is very clean hotel, all firniture is new and quality of towels for guests and all other supplies is perfect. Staff cleaned our room everyday and changed towels,sheets cups etc also everyday. The room has lerfect sea view we hihly reccomed staying in this type of room. All emplyees are so nice and professional. The food is also very nice. We have one very picky princess but even she was able to find everytime something delicipus to eat. If we have opportunity, we will visit this amazing place again. 10 out of 10 hotel, staff and food. Island is small,but there are few amazing beaches, bikini beach just in front of hot and the beach right aode of hotel. Also,the jungle is very beautiful and you can make amazing family photos there:)The only reccomendation is to choose air transfer from Male to Maalhos instead of using the speedboat transfer. The trip is very long(around 2 hours), and if the weater is windy trip might be uncomfortable.

What a wonderful stay! We spent a relaxing and enriching vacation. I can absolutely recommend this Guest House with a clear conscience. We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday. Sea, sandy beach, small local island, excursions, jetski, snorkeling and diving to mention some of what is great to experience - everything great! The atmosphere is chilled and relaxed. We went snorkeling, and we went several times out on the ocean for some excursions to see the Mantas in Hanifaru Bay. We will definitely be back. Also, they were very helpful every time we needed help during our entire Vacation. Thank you for this unforgettable holiday!

Very nice Hotel directly on the beach. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The stuff is very helpful and friendly. The restaurant offer also delicious food. We will come definitely a second time to Thundi Village.

I stay here for work quiet often. Single-handedly the best place to stay at in Maalhos. Great location, seamless service, amazing food, spacious and clean rooms. Nothing to complain and always can be sure to have a great time here. Highly recommended.

Maalhos is the perfect Maldivian Island - absolutely gorgeous beach and view of an uninhabited island. My husband and I stayed for only a night as we live in the Atoll. Seemed like a no-brainer... however, it ended up leaving a bad taste in our mouths. Not very good communication from the manager onsite, lack of hospitality, and overall just a below average experience. We didn't feel cared for here. We went on a picnic which was unfortunately cut short due to bad communication; however, the picnic island is absolute perfection and the boat captain who dropped us off was great. The food was really overpriced and made the less than 24 hours spent here very expensive. We were checked out of the hotel room 6 hours before our boat, which is ok, but there were no efforts made by the team to make us comfortable for that wait (ie. offering to lock up the bags, water, etc.) I really suggest travelers to check out Maalhos, however maybe try one of the guest houses down the beach for a better experience.

We were at Thundi Village and Spa with our kids for a week for the New Year. The island itself is very nice. Fantastic beaches with great reef. The hotel is practically on the beach. The beach in front of the hotel is the one where you have to cover yourself. The bikini beach is just 100 meters to the left so distance-wise it's not a problem at all. I do still recommend to bring the swimming shirts with you (long-sleeve). First of all, it protects you from the sun. When you snorkel your back is always exposed to the sun. We got a sunburn on the first day despite using the sun screen. Second, the swimming suits protects from the jelly fish. Although we didn't encounter any on the first several days, on the last two days there were some jelly fish in the water. They are small and transparent so not easy to spot. They don't sting very badly but the kids had the rash on their skin. The hotel also organizes interesting tours. We went snorkeling with the turtles which was great. Unfortunately we came during the dry season so we didn't go diving with mantas which I hope we can do next time. The hotel itself is fine. The staff was very nice. There are a couple of things which needs to be addressed though. We had two separate room. In one of them there was a shelf in the bathroom to place soap or shampoo but the other one didn't have anything which was very inconvenient. Another important downside: no rooms had any racks to dry your wet clothes. This is a serious downside and so easy and cheap to solve, so I hope they do address this issue. The food was okay though not exquisite. The unpleasant thing was that when we booked the hotel we were required to pay for the food. For the New Year period we were told to pay $95 per person per day. When we arrived there we saw that people who were not staying at the property but came to eat from other places paid $12.5 for the meal set. It was the same set that we had as well (we took food from the same buffet). So if you count breakfast, lunch and dinner this will total to $37.5. So we paid three times as much!!! Just because we staid at the property! Why do you discourage people to stay in your hotel??? I also wonder about the prices for drinks. The coconut costs about $5, which is ridiculously expensive. But half of the island where the hotel is located is the jungle. We went to the jungle a couple of times. Pretty much every tree is a coconut tree. You see piles of coconuts rotting on the ground there. Why not lower the price and sell more of those? I don't know about other people but we did order coconuts on our first day but stopped doing that because of the price.

We had an extraordinary stay at Thundi village in Maalhos, where the warm welcome from Amaan and his colleagues overwhelmed us. The rooms were spotless, with stunning views from the balcony, offering a simply magnificent view of the most beautiful beach on the island, right at the foot of the hotel. We were delighted with the excursions offered by the establishment. The excursion to the Sand Bank was an unforgettable moment; dropped off on the island for more than two hours, we were able to fully enjoy this earthly paradise before being picked up. Snorkeling was also an incredible experience, thanks to a passionate and competent team who introduced us to the wonders of the underwater fauna and flora. Additionally, the food offered at Thundi village was absolutely delicious, adding an extra touch of enjoyment to our stay. We highly recommend this hotel to all travelers looking for an unforgettable experience in the Maldives! Ps: for gluten intolerants like me, the team takes your allergies into account and offers gluten free dishes!

Hotel generally very good, food good, clean, staff very friendly but not pushy, warm, admired calm and confident handling even with difficult guests, the island of Maalhos is small but beautiful, sunrise, sunset gigantic, the sea, the white sand fantastic, as well as snorkeling on the reef (be careful of the currents, they can be dangerous) The locals live more for themselves, but are very friendly when in contact with tourists, the fishing was interesting. I love the island of Maalhos, everything is there for my needs, will come back next year if possible

Dilapidated structure absolutely different from the photo. We had to change guesthouses. Nobody expects the luxuries of Maldivian resorts but at least a similar structure in the photos taken. Highlights of the past two days: Yellow towels and no soap. Mattresses left in the hallways. No deckchairs on the beach. Avoid it if you can

Forget the island-hotels formatted as holiday clubs and enjoy this small family hotel where life is good and you can recharge your batteries far from the chaos of vacationers... Everything is organized to make you feel comfortable and fully enjoy your stay with incomparably friendly staff always attentive to your needs... I'm still looking for the negative points... 😜 A word of advice: take the room with a sea view... a haven of peace, with the lapping waves that lull you to sleep in the evening... 👌 The food is very good with an à la carte menu at lunchtime and a buffet in the evening... a reasonable and very good choice. The beach is nearby (the only beach for tourists in bikinis authorized... out of respect for Muslim Maldivians) and don't forget your sunscreen, because even when covered, the sky lets intense UV rays through... you you are sure to come back burned!!! 😁
