We just spent a 2-day stay at Mabi City Centre Hotel/Maastricht. Lovely hotel, very clean, very well located nevertheless we experienced a big disappointment. As we left the hotel on Friday evening to head towards the restaurant, we left our key at the reception desk and gave it to the lady at the desk. When we came back, her (male) colleague, told us they didn't have our key, so basically either way they lost it or worse, it had been stolen or given to s.o. else. Fortunately, the man had a spare key and kindly accepted to open our room, but it left a very unpleasant and insecure feeling. We even slept with a pile of luggage to block the door inside. The next morning, we explained our situation to the reception desk and requested a solution ASAP. We left all day (not very at ease as we had valuable belongings in our room, meaning that anyone could enter it and potentially steal our stuff. Of course, nobody called us back during the day, and when coming back, the only thing they could propose was to provide us another key. No compensation for the (moral) harm suffered in any way but they would enquire what could be done and come back to us on Monday. Having received no news on Wednesday, we've sent an e-mail to which we haven't received ANY reaction so far. Very disappointing behaviour. So our stay left us with a very negative feeling. We had the unpleasant feeling the ladies we're not taking us seriously and even had doubts on the fact we gave that key back. The fact they didn't even come back to us confirms it all!
