Internet connection is appallingly slow, internet connection is a vital function for 21st century, and it was barely on 2 bars, it is extremely slow, even for regular browsing

the room cleanliness was terrible. Air conditioner did not work at all and the room got stuffy and unable to breath.

Hotel is older, but quaint - small, but suited our purposes. Just don't miss the call box on the outside edge of the door.

Good location. Poor bedding and sheets. Not even a water glass or a cattle in the room. Bed was very hard. The room was smelling cigarette. This is more a bag packer hostel than a proper central Madrid hotel. The staff can to help when asked for it.

We have stayed at Hotel Life before so thought we knew what to expect. The hotel check in was difficult because it was to be done remotely. The emails were in Spanish and I contacted the hotel to ask them to send me the information in English. They sent it again in Spanish.
The hotel was cold and the heating wasn't working properly. We had to dress up warm to go to bed!
The hotel is now very tired and needs refurbishing.

I was supposed to have stayed at Gran Vía and after waiting for a code past 16:30 I had to find a number to get someone to explain. I had to make a few calls to get an answer to be told to go to another sister hotel. The service was excellent! However the room smell was strong of cigarette and the AC did not cool down the room.

Location and soundproofing are the only two positives. The cleaning is poor (hair in the bathtub and when they came back the next day to clean the room the hair was still there despite having complained. The mattress was non-existent, uncomfortable, the pillows were uncomfortable, the bed was small, I couldn't rest well throughout my stay at this hotel. The duvet is stained from having been rubbed on the floor and not having been cleaned, the air conditioning works at half throttle, the reception is horrible, the phone does not work. They leave an orange and some sobaos at the door every morning, ask: How do you want us to peel the oranges? And the sobaos with which we digest them? I will not return, I do not recommend it
