Hotel Indigo Madrid - Princesa

Madrid|1.79km from Plaza de la Villa
Like in other reviews, the main pro about this hotel is location. Very convenient for metro and bus access, and within reasonable walking distance to the Palacio Real. However, that’s about the only reason to book this hotel. The Front Desk staff was rude, unaccommodating, and just plain wrong. He insisted that the room was not suitable for two when the booking and rate type, both in my confirmation email and in the IHG app, clearly showed “SLEEPS 2.” When I asked if it’s a twin bed in the room, he said no it’s a queen. So I asked what’s the problem then? As we were getting our keys he then said by the way breakfast would normally be for one but in this case I give you guys the second breakfast free. As if he were trying to come across as doing us a favor, when I know for a fact that the rate I booked included breakfast for up to two guests. Our best guess is this person was ********** (it was myself and my ******** partner) and couldn’t stand the idea of us being in this room together. This is also all without so much as even acknowledging my loyalty (Gold) with IHG. I’ve stayed at Holiday Inn Expresses with considerably more welcoming staff than this man (won’t name him by name unless IHG reaches out) displayed at this property. Stay at this property for the location but don’t pay anything more than 60€ per night. Anything more than that is a rip off. And don’t expect to be given a warm welcome by this particular front desk person. There was another person - a woman - working the front desk but our interactions with her were unfortunately limited. Perhaps the experience would have been better if we had been welcomed by her as she was considerably more pleasant.

Out of the subway station, walk to the hostel in one minute, the traffic is very convenient, there is no breakfast, there is a bar opposite the hostel, you can have breakfast. Out of the subway station, followed by navigation to the scheduled hotel, yes, yes, I booked the hotel, the location of the navigation is also very accurate, the navigation prompts. I once again stood on the side of the road in a daze, this is the horse, what broken navigation brought me to this broken place, although in the city center, but the house is very old, like the ancient city, take out the order comparison navigation Repeatedly confirmed, yes, it is here, but where is the hotel? Didn't see it. Looking up to the heights, I finally found a small hotel signboard, and more than half of it was covered by leaves. I want to sing a poem. ”There are thousands of people looking for him in the crowd, but when you look back, the signboard is in a dim light.” Looking for the door to the upper floor, looking for a long time, using the exclusion method to initially determine a more likely door, press the doorbell, the speaker on the doorbell is talking, but I can't understand, I asked the first sentence. Still ”Do you want to speak English”, get the other party's cold ”No” and then no more... I then ring the doorbell, no one cares for me. Hey! Pull out the cool and cool. In the end, there was no trick. I used the mobile phone to dial the phone number on the signboard. When the phone was connected, I wouldn’t be polite with her. ”Labor has set a room on the Internet, I am standing outside the door now,” and then it will not be inside the doorbell. English-speaking people started to speak English... The hotel may have been newly renovated and tastes very heavy. The other room is small, there are some, the bathroom door can only be opened half, because of the narrow, blocked by the wash basin. There is a refrigerator in the room, the drinks in the refrigerator can be eaten, but you have to pay.

One of the best hostel I've ever been to. The 8-people shared bedroom was BIG, with beds safely distant. The overall cleanliness of the host was good, the atmosphere was great (with sangria parties going on every night downstairs and Madrid tours every morning) but the best part was the staff: super friendly and ready to help you. The Italian girl working at the reception was lovely! She recommended lots of her favourite restaurants and they were so good. Thank you so much!

Really lovely place to stay. Just had a week here exploring Madrid and the local area- this was a great base. Its on the second floor of an old building, but the rooms are very modern and comfy, and spotlessly clean (cleaned daily). We even had a little balcony which was lovely to sit on with a cuppa. Kettle and tea/coffee making equipment in the room- apparently quite unusual for Spain. In a very central location- 5 mins walk to the Royal Palace and Opera, and the closest metro is also 5 mins walk. Its a busy area, with lots of bars and tavernas, but the sound proofing is excellent!! Staff were very helpful and friendly- we had one minor issue with the shower, and it was sorted when we got back later that day. Recommended!!

Central apartment, half a block from Plaza Mayor and Mercado San Miguel. If you want to be in the most central area of Madrid this is the place. Also close to Plaza España and Royal Palace. We find a comfortable apartment, with a room with a double bed, a dining room with a large sofa bed, a table with 4 chairs, and a TV. Full bathroom with bathtub, kitchen with everything you need to cook, dishes for 6, refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, oven and washing machine. They provide you with tablets for washing clothes, coffee capsules, milk, mineral water, tea and sugar. The entry system is with a code that they send you by message, there is no doorman, that's why I didn't give it the highest score. Parking in front, taxi and shops of all kinds in the surroundings.
