Homewood Suites by Hilton Orlando - Maitland

Pool had sun on it most of the day, without any buildings blocking the sun. Stayed over a week. The place is a little dated, but very clean. The 2 bedroom rooms were large. Breakfast were good and different each day.

i travel quiet often and try to stick with the Marriott brands when I can. Upon arrival, the hotel is impressive. A grand entrance and a huge atrium greets you. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I arrived late on a Sunday and the restaurant was open which was a good surprise. The room initially was ok, but after the first night, things started to jump out at you. Entering the room after being gone for the day, the smell of sweat hit you in the face. I am not normally one to complain, but I asked for a complete linen change. The staff accommodated but the smell persisted throughout my stay and I resorted to buying Fabreeze to minimize the smell. The bed covers were stained and the pillow cases that were replaced were more of a stained tan than crisp white. The carpets were absolutely filthy. Just walking across the floor after a shower your feet stuck to the carpet and it made the bottoms of your feet black. I resorted to flip-flops the remainder of the stay. Again, the staff was accommodating, but I didn't want the hassle of moving rooms. The room needed attention that it does not look as though it has received in a long time.

The environment is beautiful and safe, with parking spaces. Breakfast is snacks and coffee. You can buy things, and you can buy food nearby. You can go there on foot, and it is safe to go shopping.
