We’re very satisfied with our stay at U Hotel Makati. The staff were warm and accommodating, making us feel truly welcome. Our room was cozy, clean, and comfortable — perfect for a relaxing couple’s stay. Everything we needed was provided, and the service exceeded our expectations. It was a smooth, enjoyable experience from start to finish. We’d definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again!

REVIEW FOR MY FIRST DAY OF STAY I booked this hotel because I have once been an art teacher and I'm curious to see the first art hotel in the Philippines. I experienced a few issues but all were addressed mainly due to the help of the manager, Ms
Christina. I will cite the first two issues I encountered and how the management and staff addressed them:
1. There was a delay in heck in. I arrived almost exactly at 2pm but it took more than 40 minutes for the room to be prepared. But they did agree that I will be allowed to check out late. Ms Christina offered a late check out of till 1pm.
2. I experienced a delay with regard to the use of the free shuttle service. I will not go into the details but what happened was I and the driver were not able to leave immediately because the driver had to attend to certain things which took perhaps 15 minutes to resolve. I became frustrated and annoyed because I was trying to catch a competition so time was of the essence. The manager and the driver later on explained and apologized to me regarding what happened and they were sincerely sorry about it.
To be continued on my 2nd day review....

I recently spent 4 days and 3 nights at U Hotel Makati, and it was a refreshing blend of comfort, creativity, and city energy. Nestled in the heart of Poblacion, this boutique hotel offers more than just a place to sleep—it’s a canvas of local art and a hub for urban explorers.
🎨 Atmosphere & Design
From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the hotel’s artistic flair. Each hallway and room showcases work from Filipino artists, turning the entire building into a living gallery. It’s not just decoration—it’s personality. The vibe is youthful, modern, and slightly edgy, perfect for travelers who appreciate culture and creativity.
🛏️ Room Experience
My room was compact but thoughtfully designed. The bed was plush and inviting, and the blackout curtains ensured restful sleep despite the lively neighborhood outside. I loved the minimalist aesthetic paired with bold art pieces. The bathroom was clean, with good water pressure and hot showers—always a win.
📶 Connectivity & Convenience This was the one major downside of my stay. The Wi-Fi connection in the room was painfully slow and often difficult to connect. For someone who relies on internet access for work or streaming, this was frustrating and inconvenient. I had to resort to mobile data several times just to stay online.
🍽️ Food & Drink Breakfast was served daily—simple but tasty, with Filipino staples like longganisa and garlic rice.
📍 Location Perks
U Hotel’s location is unbeatable for those who want to explore Makati’s vibrant nightlife and food scene. Poblacion is packed with eclectic bars, speakeasies, and indie restaurants. I walked to several spots and never ran out of things to do. It’s also a short Grab ride to business districts and malls like Power Plant and Greenbelt.
👥 Staff & Service
The team at U Hotel was consistently warm and helpful.
🧼 Cleanliness & Safety
The hotel maintained high standards of cleanliness, and I felt safe throughout my stay. Security was visible but unobtrusive, and the staff were attentive to guest needs.
Final Thoughts:
A Hidden Gem with Room for Improvement U Hotel Makati is perfect for solo travelers, couples, and creatives looking for a stylish yet affordable stay in the city. While the Wi-Fi issue was a letdown, the overall experience—especially the location, ambiance, and service—made up for it. I left feeling inspired and well-rested, and I’d absolutely return (hopefully with better internet next time).

The hotel room including breakfast was a great cost/value. We stayed in rooms 501 and 401 as the safe was broken. You cannot hear anything from the traffic as there are no windows. It would be great if this rooms provide shower curtain and also if the hotel would reply either to email or chats in booking apps.
Would stay again :)

+ they allowed early and late check in no charge . Just ask but it’s not guaranteed
+ el mundo cafe really good. The Longanisa and Bangus bfast are the best & don’t forget the tiramisu & banana walnut brownie!
+ staff are all nice.
++simple room but roomy. I love that they specifically have room for 3! Not an extra person but for 3.
+ they allowed early food delivery.
- when 1st came inside the room may kulob Amoy. Crarken up the ac and exhaust fan. Oh also the mini ref does not work.
Other than the kulob Amoy, it was good!! We extended 1 night instead of just overnight stay!

Location is near to other hotels, cafes, has a convenience store nearby, and their lobby houses an all-day breakfast cafe, too. They don't really have a drop off, and since dropping off is just along the street, you have to just be really quick.
The floors are placed with creative locators for ingress/egress with cute notes and encouragement to take the stairs.
The room that we got was quite big. It was good for 3 pax. I was surprised that the toilet and bath were also bigger than the past hotels I've been with the same price range. Inside, we got two bedside tables with a common outlet between two beds, a study/working table with electric kettle, a safe, and outlets as well. A television is also installed and a window type air conditioning unit.
The study table is placed with water bottles, coffee, sugar, and creamer sachets with disposable stirring sticks. They refill your water bottles every day. We stayed four days and three nights, so we got 6 bottles overall. As for toiletries, they will only give 1 set from the first day of stay. Their slippers were very cute, by the way.
We requested to borrow a hair blower. They were able to provide. We also requested a flat iron, but we weren't able to receive one.
Overall, I would definitely book this place again and would highly recommend for others to list this hotel as one of their options when staying in Manila.

I called alot of times to the provided hotel number but they hardly respond they dont reply also in emails asap it took me a day to recieved an email regarding of my checked in adjustment time arrival. I have a hard time reaching out to the receptionist even tho she said when i arrived at the hotel that theyre 24/7 standby i called like 15x i was so pissed nobody picked up my calls.Room is spacious and tidy,no hair dryer which i really need the most! The bathroom ceiling is leaking and theres tons of water dripping to the floor, the upper side walls in bathroom are molding also.location is somewhere in between okay and price of the room is not bad.

Clean room. Comfortable. AC working well. There’s hot water. Complete amenities. Cute indoor slippers :)
Wifi was fast at night but got a little bit wonky in the morning.
I asked for a quiet room and i was assigned to 201 which was just right outside the elevator so it was a bit noisy. I woke up 2-3 times in the morning coz I can hear chitchats by the elevator.
So my tip is that if you are a light sleeper, avoid this room.
Staff of U Hotels are nice. But not the El Mundo cafe staffs during that time. The girl staff who’s tending the coffee machine looked irritated and wasn’t really accommodating.
Anyway, will definitely stay here again next time.

We staid at U Makati Hotels for 2 nights before leaving Philippines. We got a big discount so that affected the booking of the room. It was very cheap with the discount. We would have liked location closer to the airport but with Grab you can move around the city easily.
Room's TV didn't work but I mentioned about it only after we were leaving so I don't know how good the fixing of this would have been. We didn't have breakfast or eat at the hotel so food quality is unknown. Otherwise everything was good in the hotel, you couldn't really hear too much noise from the outside even there is a lot of restaurants, bars and clubs in the area. We were on the 6th floor so maybe that has something to do with that. I didn't really enjoy the smell in the lobby but my gf liked it.
One weird issue was that we bought some fruits to eat in the room and we asked a knife but it was against the hotel's policy but they said fruits can be peeled and cut in the kitchen, which they did.
In total the quality of the hotel to price ratio was really good and we wanted to just sleep in the hotel.
