Good value for the price. Room had character with lovely views. Bed was really comfortable. Disappointing there was no wood for the fire place. Breakfast options were great. Helpful and friendly staff.

We stayed at Selina Centavrus Pelion for 3 nights in August 2021, during the pandemic. It was 3 perfect nights, sleeping with the windows open, in absolute darkness, with only the stars to look at (from our bed, what a treat!), and only the sound of night birds singing. In the daytime swallows would fly in front of our window in huge numbers (we looked up and realized they have built nests under the roof!) and apart from some minor car sounds, we felt totally immersed in nature. Our Standard double room was a tiny bit more expensive than the Standard Economy, and we’re glad we went for it as it was the perfect size. The room was beautifully decorated and designed (as was the whole hotel!) and had a fireplace and fan, but no air-con (we were there the hottest month of the year and didn’t need it). The bed and pillows were super-comfy (I wanted to lie there all day!), the towels fluffy and the bathroom spotless, plus the tap water is filtered and drinkable (and freezing cold on a hot summer day, as the pipes are under the mountain!). There’s even a lift so you don’t have to carry your suitcases up the stairs, and checking in was done online in advance, and only a couple of extra things needed to be filled in by the very helpful receptionist upon arrival (also done electronically and with all social distancing and masking rules kept to the letter, which was very important for us and put our mind to rest). All the staff members we met were the loveliest, both at reception and in the breakfast area, and offered us great recommendations for the area (e.g. to eat at Peliades restaurant, which was the foodie highlight of our whole Pelion trip). We chose to stay in Makrinitsa as it’s only 15 min drive from Volos, and it’s a perfect base from which to explore all the villages of Pelion. One of the reasons we chose Selina is that there’s very convenient parking within the hotel premises, so you don’t have to drive around the village and find a spot in the public parking lot (that can get very crowded at night). The center of Makrinitsa can be reached through the hotel by climbing some stairs and walking up a steep cobbled stone path that takes you to the main square (or you can take a 10 min walk up the main car road just outside, which is a bit longer but less steep and has no stairs). We drove around for 3 days, and visited at least 10 villages, so it’s a perfect base to choose. The views from the windows and everywhere else in the property (restaurant/breakfast area, outdoor lounging areas etc.) are to die for, the whole of the Pagasetic gulf and Volos unfolding under your feet (it’s not by chance that Makrinitsa is called the “Balcony of Pelion”, and Selina literally exemplifies that with its beautiful balconies!). On top of that, they serve dreamy breakfast! There’s a full breakfast included in the room price, but there are also many other modern and traditional options to choose from, and you only pay the difference in price (in most cases 1 EUR

Amazing view, cool vibe, kind service BUT - it was hot as hell! We knew there is no AC but also first night had no fan in the rooms. We couldn’t sleep. Our rooms were not made up, during the day, no clean towels or toilet paper added. Breakfast included was very minimal (toasts, plate of sliced fruit and spreads) and additional fee was charged for anything we wanted to add (eggs were not included). “Wellness area” is nothing but a balcony with chairs. We paid a rate similar to an hotel rate but got a hostel so - lower expectations.

Although a very nice place for rest and tranquility! The guys at the hotel are more than willing to help with anything. Kind and smiling Konstantina who helped us to go to the best shops in the area. The rooms are spotlessly clean, perhaps one of the cleanest I have come across in a hotel! The only "negative" in my opinion was the breakfast which was perhaps a bit more expensive than what we expected!! Very nice location, we will definitely visit again 😁
