Reviews of Bayview Hotel Melaka

This was our fifth stay at this hotel, and unfortunately, this time was very disappointing. 1. Check-in The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were polite and welcoming. I had requested a Queen Bed room instead of Twin Beds. However, I was informed that because my booking was made at the last minute (one day before check-in), only a Twin Bed room was available as all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied. We accepted the explanation and proceeded with the room provided. 2. Room Condition Upon entering the room, the first issue we noticed was the air conditioning. Despite setting the fan speed to high, the room remained warm and the air conditioner was not cooling properly. 3. Bathroom There appeared to be a blockage beneath the sink, as water was pooling around the sink and toilet area. In addition, the shower holder was broken while we were using the shower. We chose not to complain and continued our stay. 4. Room Door & Bathroom Door The bathroom door could not be closed properly unless it was pulled and pushed firmly. The more serious issue occurred the next morning after breakfast when our room door became stuck and could not be opened. We contacted maintenance, and the team arrived to inspect the problem. From approximately 8:00 AM onwards, we were unable to access our room. Around 8:30 AM, the maintenance team requested approval from the Front Office to move us to another room because the repair would require additional time. However, they informed that changing rooms would incur an additional charge because we were checking out on the same day. I strongly disagree with this decision. From 8:30 AM until our checkout time at 12:00/12:30 PM, we were still paying guests of the hotel. The room issue was caused by a defect on the hotel’s side, and guests should not be charged extra to move rooms due to problems beyond their control. The Most Disappointing Part During check-in, we were informed that no Queen Bed Deluxe Rooms were available. However, while the maintenance team was accessing our room through the connecting room next door, we discovered that the adjacent room was vacant and equipped with a Queen Bed. If the actual reason was that the room was unavailable due to maintenance, it would have been more professional and honest to explain that from the beginning rather than simply saying all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied. This experience has left us very disappointed. Every time we visit Melaka, this hotel has always been our preferred choice. However, after this stay, we have decided not to return. I appreciate the hospitality shown by the staff during check-in, but I sincerely hope the hotel will improve both its facilities and service standards. Thank you.

The hotel service was excellent and the staff handled issues professionally. Unfortunately, a water pipe burst in the room opposite mine, flooding the entire floor corridor. Despite the unexpected incident, the team responded quickly, cleaned up efficiently, and kept guests informed. Overall, it was still a pleasant stay thanks to their great customer service and prompt action.

Love the location. Centre of Malacca town. Staff mostly very friendly and helpful. The room is very spacious. However the furnitures are a bit outdated. And amenities just so-so. Hopefully the management will upgrade the decor soon. Anyway we love staying here.

Had a pleasant stay at Bayview Hotel Melaka. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was convenient for exploring the city. Great value for money and would consider staying again.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Melaka with my family from 16–18 May 2026 and had a very pleasant experience. While the property does show some signs of ageing, the excellent customer service more than made up for it. I would especially like to commend the Front Office Manager, Mr Lim, for his professionalism, attentiveness, and warm hospitality. He thoughtfully arranged connecting rooms for our family as requested, which we greatly appreciated. The front desk staff were consistently friendly, courteous, and welcoming throughout our stay. It is clear that Mr Lim leads the team well, as the positive service culture at Bayview was evident in every interaction. I would also like to specially mention Ikmal and Aliff for their friendliness and excellent service. Although I may not remember every staff member who served us, please convey our sincere appreciation to the entire team for making our stay such an enjoyable one.

If you need modern luxury, look elsewhere. But if you want a safe, clean, spacious room with a sea view, friendly service, and a price that leaves you cash for extra cendol – Bay View is still my top pick. Old, but gold.

Nice place with good location. Easy access to nearby attractions and restaurants

This hotel have family room so I decided to stay here and walkable to famous foodies around this area. The room can improve due to the bed and the pillow is quite hard for us to stay for two nights. The bed was unstable too just laying down will have sound for the queen bed. Crossing road is quite challenging because don't have any human pedestrian 🚸 sign to can cross along.

Stayed here and overall it was a mixed experience. The hotel is old, but I have to give credit to the housekeeping team as the cleanliness is well maintained throughout the stay. The location is not the most strategic, but still manageable. It is within walking distance to Jonker Street and several tourist attractions like A Famosa, Stadthuys, Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum, and the Melaka Ship Museum, which is quite convenient for sightseeing. However, there were a few downsides. We booked a king size bed but ended up with two single beds combined. Unfortunately, one of the beds had a faulty spring, which caused some discomfort during sleep. In terms of pricing, it feels slightly on the higher side considering the condition of the hotel and the issues experienced. Overall, acceptable for a short stay, but there is definitely room for improvement, especially in room quality and value for money.

Excellent for all. Easy access to eateries, mart, 7e, etc. Truly clean. Sangat selesa. Breakfast murah.
