If you are looking for a Maldivian getaway that balances island relaxation with a bit of "city" energy and variety, SAii Lagoon is a fantastic choice. Unlike the more isolated private islands, this resort is part of the CROSSROADS Maldives project, which means you aren't just limited to one resort’s dining and activities.  🚤 Location & Arrival One of the biggest perks is the 15-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport. After a long flight, being at the resort and checked in within 30 minutes is a luxury in itself. No waiting hours for a seaplane!  🛌 The Room Experience The design here is very "Boho-Chic"—bright, colorful, and modern. • Sky Rooms: Great value with a beautiful balcony view of the lagoon. • Beach Villas: The direct beach access is worth the upgrade. The "creature comfort" pillows and the ability to customize your own bathroom amenities at the Aroma Bar were unique touches that made the stay feel personalized.  🍴 Dining & Activities This is where SAii really stands out. Because it’s connected by a footbridge to The Marina @ CROSSROADS and the Hard Rock Hotel:  • Variety: You have access to over 10+ dining options. We loved Miss Olive Oyl for Mediterranean flavors, but having the option to walk over to the Hard Rock Café or the Ministry of Crab at the Marina kept things exciting.  • The Hub: The Marina has a discovery center, shops, and a beach club (Café del Mar style). • Snorkeling: The house reef is decent, and we spotted plenty of colorful fish and even a few small reef sharks near the overwater walkways. 💡 Pro-Tips for Travelers: 1. Download the App: Use the SAii App to request buggies or book dinner tables—it’s much faster than calling the front desk.  2. Explore the Marina: Don't just stay on the SAii island. The sunset views from the Marina pier are some of the best on the island. 3. Hilton Honors: If you have status, the perks here (like breakfast or room upgrades) are well-recognized as it’s part of the Curio Collection.  Summary: Perfect for couples or families who want a vibrant, social atmosphere rather than total isolation. The proximity to Malé makes it the ultimate stress-free Maldivian escape! Would I return? Absolutely, especially for a shorter trip where I want to maximize my time on the sand rather than in transit.

My first vacation to a resort and Saii made it quite very perfect. Ferry Arrangements - 3/5 Room - 3.5/5 Food - 4/5 Beach/Pool - 4.5/5 Accessibility - 4.5/5 Marine Life - 3/5 Dolphin viewing - 10/5 Ferry: They do reach out to you for arrangements via email. However, replies will be very delayed. We were fortunate to have our hotel from another island we were staying at, arranged everything for us with Saii directly. Eventually, we only got their reply when we have already gotten to the Saii island. Room: Spacious, clean and very well-equipped. Had life vests, beach slippers (some rooms had entirely new pairs with tags still on), drying racks, cigar tray, beach bag, beach towels, and so much more. However, ceiling fan only has a on/off switch, which would often be set on low. To change the speed, you would have to tug on the little chain on the fan (image attached). It’s hard for me as i’m vertically challenged LOL. I also was unfortunate to have some issues on cleanliness at my first room but the room on my second night was perfect. My brother’s room was perfect throughout our stay too. Food: Variety was great as we had not just Saii, but hard rock across the bridge and also the marina that had multiple international options. Breakfast variety was great too. Beach/Pool: Always had a beach chair available on whichever beach we went to. Absolutely love the number of jacuzzis at the pools (though the automated version took us some time to figure out). Infinity pool had a really nice warm water pool. Accessibility: Saii has everything at your finger tips literally. At check-in, they would get you to download an app. On it, you can have chats with their respective services like housekeeping, activities center, front counter etc. You can also request for amenities for your room if you require additional or specific ones. They get to you SO FAST. Never waited longer than 5 minutes before i hear someone at the door. You can also request buggy transport (but it really takes quite awhile so plan 20 mins in advance). Marine-life: It’s reclaimed land, so snorkeling, as expected would be boring. If you are snorkeling near the shore or at certain beach, you would prob see nothing in the day or just a couple varieties. For those comfortable to venture out to the reef-cliff near the boundary marker, you would see more lively scenes but nothing fascinating. That said, we were shocked to have swum so close to a huge reef shark near the marker when we went out at 8am. Tip: If you are keen to catch dolphins (like me), this resort is perfect. One of the few that gives you a perfect view of a huge pod of dolphins swimming by. Catch them from the Pool at poolside bar around 5pm -5.30pm. Not a daily occurrence, but they do go by in huge pods, and stay up to 30 mins in the area upfront. That is the time they usually make their way out back to deeper waters. At night, go to the bridge connecting to hard rock. Big nurse sharks and some rays can be seen right by it. But that beach in the day, is very uneventful aside from the water activities.

We stayed in villa on the water. Very private and fortunately staff assigned us a room closed to the exit, also just couple of minutes walk from Miss Olive Oyle. Spotted sharks, manta rays, lion fish, blue parrot fish and other no familiar fished. Excellent staff from all over the world. I have spoken with those from Sri Lanka, Nepal, India and China. All were super friendly and helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay at SAii Lagoon. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. There were so many complimentary perks during my stay. It was a perfect family vacation. The resort is only a 15-minute speedboat ride from the airport. Early check in was superb! Even though I stayed at SAii Lagoon, I could also visit the Hard Rock Hotel. The best part was spotting rays on the beach many times! I received a complimentary birthday cake during my stay. This resort is perfect for a family getaway.
