This place was amazing. For the rate you really get alot. Not too crazy about the parking fee and that they charge you everyday but it is what it is and maybe hotels even charge more than that. For some strange reason there is a smoky smell in some of the rooms, but they were good about switching us until we found a better room. Windows don't open so if you're on the ground level you miss a lot of the patio noise. It's a lot nicer when it's not as crowded here. The higher levels have a nice view. We did have to make a deposit but they didn't charge us any pet fees. Didn't know if the restaurant was open but we didn't find a menu in the room. It's outdated but in a in a way that adds to its charm. Not a bad place, I recommend it. They had security and compared to lower range lodging in Simi Valley we felt comfortable. Plenty of T.V. channels and plug outlets.

The brother at the front desk was too warm and kind. The room was ok and the price was quite high. It's too close to Ole, the next yard is Ole. There is a Wal-Mart in three minutes' drive, but there are not many things, it is a little Wal-Mart.

Pros: Manager was friendly, gave us bottles of water. The pool was seemingly clean and warm. SO MANY CONS: -Set reservations up online for Wed-Fri, received confirmation for Tues-Thurs?! -Landscape/pool service man&woman showed up in unprofessional attire looking disheveled. Turned sprinklers on as we were trying to leave pool area and soaked our belongings and baby! They could easily have waited literally ONE MINUTE for us to walk through! Unbelievably rude. -No hot breakfast, unhealthy processed junk food offered instead... -Rooms were utterly DISGUSTING!!! -Snot, blood, and filth on walls of both rooms and both bathrooms as well. -Stains on ceiling. -Tile cracked in bathroom, sharp. -No vent in bedroom bathroom. -Pull out couch mattress completely stained, looked and smelled like it came from the dump. -Had to ask multiple times for pool towels which were either not in stock or the few given were rough/old/stained. -Glass door to suite constantly was getting stuck. -No anti-slip bath mat, tub extremely slippery. -Toys left under recliner from previous guests. -Outdated lamps' charging ports don't fit modern plugs for phone chargers. -OUR ENTIRE KING SUITE (Room 337) HAD MULTIPLE HEALTH HAZZARDS!!! The manager made it very clear to the gentleman in line in front of me that they were completely booked with no rooms available, so I felt bringing all of these issues to his attention was futile as there were no other rooms to give us that might be cleaner or SAFER. It should be noted that we have twin preschoolers and an infant. This cesspool of a La Quinta hotel was completely unacceptable and the Wyndham brand should be ashamed to have this hotel representing their name! Our family will NOT be staying at any Wyndham hotels again.

Thus hotel is located near LAX and has shuttle service from and to the airport which was very important for us. The facilities were okay and the staff were amazing

Most important: we got an excellent nights sleep. Second floor in the back of the hotel (rm 222). It was quiet and we found the bed excellent. Service was helpful, polite. And the Wifi worked reasonably well - no problems with that. Also important is we booked the room for $84 (total) and in LA/Manhattan Beach area that is cheap. Walk in price was $109+tax. So all my suggestions are just ”future ideas” and I have no grounds to complain about anything since we slept really well there. And yes, we will be back again no future trips. Things that could be better: o ice maker ”out of service” - they had one unit and it was connected, would make whirring noise when pushing in the dispenser, but no ice. We used the in-room 'fridge to freeze some water bottles to keep our picnic things cool the next day. o inner courtyard looks like a small prison yard: the former pool and hottub are covered with what looks like roofing material and the fence around the pool area is locked off. No plants is the main problem. This could be a gem of a garden. My advice is to visit estate sales and garage sales to buy all the *large* potted plants they can find cheap (or free). o renovate the rooms a bit: e.g. rip out the old carpets and put in any (yes, even linoleum) floor that can be mopped - much cleaner, no place for fleas, bedbugs, or dust mites to live in. Wash the walls and paint where repairs have been made - simple things can make the room much more pleasant to be in. o put a window screen on the back window - which essentially faces a wall. But it was good (quiet) ventilation since it wasn't facing the street. o small grey mark on the pillow case and a stray hair on the bed - harmless stuff to us but other people might find more objectiionable. And some stains in the carpet that probably will never come out. Not a big deal.
