- Room got downgraded due to “not ready” as construction was happening. We booked this in Jan and was told a month before our stay we was being downgraded. - when talking to a member of the team, they were not pleasant to talk to and offering me “discount of £15” although, this was the price difference of the room, NOT DISCOUNT. I was then offered to “sleep on a mattress on the floor within the construction site”. - upon arrival, after a few hours of driving we asked to use a toilet (we was a couple of hours early to our check-in, but that was ok due to going shopping), we was told there was no customer toilets and was offered to use a McDonald’s over the road… - no “good vibe” upon arrival, as was met with silence as if for us to speak first… I mean, of course we’re here to check in… - breakfast was a “grab and go” cabin at the front of the hotel, luckily this was complimentary due to the issues but lacking a restaurant destroyed the morning vibe. And no “full English” just a roll or pastry.. - due to room downgrade, we had nothing to refrigerate anything, no vending machines for drinks etc. luckily kettle in room. Placed in a room positioned above the entrance and smoking area.. so was unable to open a window due to smoke and noise. The only positives… - Convenient location - A young gentleman extended our parking for free due to event delays. - Free WiFi (very kind, but didn’t work) and breakfast included (but limited and remote). We always choose to stay in a premier inn whenever we stay away… but this has really shocked us. We booked months and months ahead of time. I do not feel I got all my money’s worth.
