"Stayed for 3 nights with my wife, overall nice hotel and enjoyed it. Things we liked; staff were helpful and friendly, hotel aesthetic was great, rooms large and well designed, bar and grill area very nice with good food. Things that could have been better; hotel breakfast is not great and not worth it vs others, the continental spread was minimal and pastries poor quality, only ate there once then decided to eat at other places outside hotel on rest of mornings. Also kettle in our room wasn't working, we called down for it and no one ever showed up to fix or replace. Also there was a foul smell coming from shower/ toilet drainage that was quite strong, shower was dirty. Small things that can easily be rectified with a bit more attention to detail."
"It was truly a pleasure staying in voco hotel at Manchester city center . The bed is cozy, including 2 bottles of water in refrigerator
I want to thank for Dilijan’s service, he took special care of my needs that the top management came to stay and I wonder if any room available to check in earlier, he not only did that but also upgraded some other services. Gave me full support on hosting my bosses. Thanks so much!
Also thanks to ioana for quickly arranging receipt for me and facilitating with Dilijan. I felt so pleased!"

"I had such a wonderful stay at this hotel last weekend. First and foremost, it is absolutely stunning — from its exterior to the reception and restaurant on the sixth floor to the en-suite Club Rooms my friends and I stayed in. I didn’t get a chance to try out the rooftop bar (it was my hen party so my weekend itinerary was packed) but I’ll definitely be back with my fiancé soon. After having a taste of the Hotel Gotham, I truly can’t think of anywhere else we’d stay when visiting Manchester. The staff were so accommodating — from allowing me to drop off my suitcase in the morning to letting my friend check into her room early and add her husband to the booking. Because I was in the city for a special occasion, the staff even left a little gift for me in my room (a handwritten postcard congratulating me on my engagement, as well as some super tasty sweet treats: iced cookies, chocolate-dipped strawberries and macaroons). Breakfast was delicious too and I was genuinely sad to leave, but I’ll definitely be back again soon."
"Perfect budget friendly hotel. We stayed here for one night and it was just what we needed. Great location, near loads of restaurants and bars. The reception/bar area was cool and quirky. The staff were really friendly from start to finish. We got the no window king room, which had a massive bed and tv which loads of lighting. Was compact but worked well. The free coffee machine is an added bonus. Overall great experience and i’ll be back for sure"
"Great stay, reception staff very friendly. Is a £100 deposit to pay on arrival on top of your room price that i wasn’t aware of when booking but wasn’t too much of a problem as it was returned on checkout. Room really spacious, wasn’t the cleanest, food and stains under the sofa cushions, and what looked like a cigarette burn on the couch near the window.
Only issue was breakfast, just not enough staff to cater for everyone. Half an hour for a cup of tea, an hour for food. So just be prepared for the wait. Was warned to book a time-slot on arrival which we did but that made no difference. Overall i would stay again, just put the issues down to it being the holidays and obvious staffing issues over this time"
"The style of the room is retro, pretty good, the toiletries are great, and there is a refrigerator. But the top-level swimming pool is very small, only two or three meters long. No one really goes swimming. If you live in the pool, the price is slightly higher. There is also a sauna on the top floor, which makes it very comfortable to steam~"
"Hotel room facilities and cleanliness are fine but the room allocated at the far end of the hotel that I lived was a bit noisy. It was due to quite close or adjacent to the railway path and the trains passed by every hour produced some annoying noises heard from the hotel room even when midnight time.
It is interesting that the shower was semi-open style with one glass door; and the water could splash over the toilet floor."
"Not too bad with the low price and good location.
It does not have mini fridge, bathroom space is relatively small and the room door needs a little extra strength to close it properly. Overall, this hotel room does its bare minimum job."
"booked for my step son attending the ufc at the coop arena - he said it was great, clean, friendly staff and that it exceeded his expectations so much so he wouldn’t think twice about returning to this hostel or similar in other cities!"

Great
GGuest UserHotel is excellent room and views are lovely. Location is excellent and majority of staff were nice. Only a few issues they give and charge you for doubles in the bar when the menu only gives single prices. The response from the barmaid was you never specified a single when that should be as standard. Also take 50 pound a night for cover in case you spend in the hotel but only refunded 97.60 for the 2 nights. Although we didn’t spend anything on the room. The hotel is super but just those 2 things took the shine of a really great stay.

OOliver WilliamI booked this hotel because an offer meant it was the same price as the nearby Ibis Budget. It's a much nicer looking hotel than that, friendly and attentive staff and nice decor. The room is spacious enough with everything you'd need, including a hair dryer (such as they are at hotels, you're better standing in front of the AC vents tbh). I was asked if I was dining tonight and since there's not much else around the area except for more hotels I said yes, and was told they were expecting it to be busy so they took a reservation for me. I had a drink at the bar (£7.40 for a pint of Camden Hells, that's how you know you're not on holiday anymore, ouch!) and then had my meal; I had olives, garlic bread and lasagna, all very good. A little pricey but always have to remember you're paying airport premiums, because what else are you going to eat? The Tribe website advertised a 24 hour ”Grab and Go” shop that sold drinks and snacks, but the one at Manchester Airport seems to close at 4pm, which was before I'd even checked in. This was a little disappointing, there were plenty of staff about so not sure why the shop has to close so early. I wanted some soft drinks to drink in my room and while you can order then at the bar and take them upstairs no problem, you're paying bar prices (maybe this is why the shop closes so early, though I'd like to think it wasn't). There were no vending machines or anything around either so once the restaurant and bar close there's nothing to eat or drink. Maybe this is just me but I like at least having the option of a small snack or drink at night. But then again I realise this hotel is probably aimed at a different kind of traveller than me; much more of a business trip kind of vibe rather than a lone traveller looking for bargains. That said apart from the Grab and Go counter closing at 4pm there was literally nothing to complain about here, especially with the price I paid. A nice way to start or end a holiday/trip.
GGuest UserExcellent customer service from the moment you book in. Vety good communication and even let you check in online. Having come from London we arrived a bit earlier than our checking in time. We were given the opportunity of getting into our room and that was very appriciated. Room was vety clean and we were provided with everything we needed with a modern kitchen.. They provide storage space in case you have checked out and want to go out and come back for your luggage. They have a cafe which can also be used while you are waiting. All staff are very professional and friendly , smiling and communicating with respect. All in all excellent service. Well done.

Ttraveller2002Absolutely loved our stay at The Midland Manchester – everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and couldn’t do enough for us. Every member of the team made us feel genuinely looked after, and the service throughout was faultless.
The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud – we had some of the best nights’ sleep we’ve had in ages! The room service was prompt, professional, and the food was delicious – a real treat after a long day exploring the city.
Speaking of relaxing – the spa was absolutely divine. Clean, calming, and wonderfully designed, it was the perfect escape. The massage was one of the best I’ve ever had – incredibly soothing and tailored to perfection. If you’re in need of some proper pampering, this is the place to be.
Location-wise, you couldn’t ask for better. Right in the heart of Manchester, everything is within walking distance, yet the hotel still manages to feel like a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle.
All in all, The Midland is a true gem. Comfortable, elegant, and run by an outstanding team. We’ll absolutely be back!

CCoen FerrariAmazing hotel! The man who greeted me at reception for check in was very nice and professional. Rooms were very clean with complementary still/sparkling water in the fridge. Kettle and Teabags were also available if needed. The room did only have 1 chair at the desk which was a bit annoying, however not a major critique. Shower was very nice, towels and hand soaps / shower gels were provided. However the bathroom door did not have a lock on it as it was a sliding door. It was fine for us since we went as a couple, but is something to take note of. All in all, Great stay!!
OOliver WilliamThe hotel is in a great location, very close to both the train station and Terminal 2 (though some of the roadworks around the area are a little confusing this isn't the hotel's fault). It has a bar and small restaurant with a pool table downstairs, along with some vending machines. The restaurant does things like pizza, burgers, simple pastas etc.; I got in the lift with someone taking some pizza back to their room and it smelt amazing so I had to get one! A little bit pricey, but that's kind of expected for airport hotel food, though it was worth it as the pizza was freshly made. Very convenient being able to take it up to my room and chill out. The room itself was more than adequate, clean and had everything you need. I'm not really sure what more they could do to improve things at the kind of prices you pay for hotels like this. In fact in some ways it was better than more expensive hotels in the area simply because I liked having the vending machines on site to buy a drink or little snack late at night where other hotels have long shut up everything and there's no one about and nothing to buy. It was over £20 a night cheaper than other hotels in the area at the time I booked it so again, I really don't know what else you can ask for. I did try to book a stay on my return but prices had gone up and it was the same price to stay at one of the nicer hotels nearby; if that's the case then by all means go for the nicer hotel but if you're early enough to take advantage of the cheaper prices this place offers it's definitely worth it. Negative reviews seem to focus on there being no hairdryer (who cares, bring your own) or Chinese people complaining about there being no bottled water or slippers something; I'd rather save £20 on the room than some pointless gesture like free bottled water and slippers. Someone mentioned they couldn't check in until 3pm... isn't that the normal check in time for hotels? What are these people smoking, honestly.
KKhairahI thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel during an event at AO Arena. The location was incredibly convenient, making it a breeze to access the arena. The room provided was spacious, offering ample space to relax and unwind. One of the standout features was the reasonable price, which made the overall experience even more satisfying. Additionally, the self-checkout mini store in the reception area stocked with a variety of snacks was a delightful touch. I found it convenient to grab a quick bite or indulge in some treats without having to venture far. Front desk were super friendly and quick, made the check-in and check out easy. With such positive experiences, I can confidently say that I will choose to revisit this hotel whenever I have another event at AO Arena.
GGuest UserWhat can I say. Entrance to hotel is nice as you walk and goes down there. Place is clean yes, but shows age. Lifts work and large. But, going down press button. But, blanked out or no indicator or level. Room and whole level 4 I was on had heating on middle of heat wave. Got to Room and found vents for air con, but busted control. Light fitting in bathroom blinked, Room. Felt aged and had open light bulb in closet. Was clean yes, but didn't feel 100 level. No way to turn heating off when I came back from gig. Ended up running Bath on. Min temp to cool down and sleep and off. By 4 am room with basic fan was just about cool enough to sleep. On entry back to hotel from gig had heavy handed security list checking even though guests had cards. Got my room no mixed up. But, gave name and ended to being marched to the desk to confirm my room and that I'd paid. Security guard told me that there is no way I had booked in when I had. No apology when it's confirmed I was a guest. Wouldn't stay again as hotel needs clear investment and feels like it would be a 40 quid a night level normally, but gig pricing raised costs. Now have a bad back and aching from sleeping in a bath for 90 quid and generally sore and tired. First time using Britainia should of gone with Travel lodge, IBis Brands or Premier Inn as nice front, but very dated and poor brand and rooms.

GgarethWhat an amazing building! So much character and history. Don't expect a brand new room, but it was perfectly acceptable. You can tell it's been a while since they were last refurbished, but for the cost of the room it was amazing. Despite my 3 star for cleanliness, the room was clean, sheets were fresh. I gave three because there was a bottle cap and random pill just under the bed.

GGuest UserMy man told me the doors locked yet there wasn’t any batteries to make functional, he also said I looked like a stoner n can happily smoke ****, so I took upon his request and enjoyed my stay to the fullest, was beneficial of the pricing range as the cost was no more then a 3.5 per bedroom
As for the the essential part of the trip, my associate commandeered a new sleeping partner,
So many thanks to the OUO house members for letting us stay in Middleton 😘
