Headed out for the day, enjoyed lunch at Furneaux Lodge. Such a delicious meal & great views. The vibe of this place is so relaxing & well worth the venture out there. Definitely will be back to soak the atmosphere up again. Very lucky to have this on our door step!

Beautiful location and premium, lovely room overlooking inlet. Unfortunately our lovely room was near a very noisy, well used hot tub, consequently could not have patio doors open and had to have window nets closed. Travelled on water taxi from Picton, which was a very special but The Lodge was full of people, loud music and disappointing on arrival. Walk on Queen Charlotte Track was good. Restaurant was really shabby and food not good with service poor (and expensive). It is a unique place but worth the money? Sadly the weather turned too

When visiting NZ, Furneaux was one of the highlights of our trip. We stayed in cooks 1. It’s a 2-bed cabin which was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The restaurant provides great breakfasts and, while not a gourmet experience, our evening meals were of a good standard and the service was very good. The staff were super helpful. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting to trek or just get away from it all for a few days.

I stayed in a Tobias Junior Suite, specifically room 10. I was very disappointed with the room in general, but also as it didn't seem to be to the same standard as other Tobias Junior Suites. The lighting was terrible, just one small wall lamp in the main living area, making it very gloomy. Most light from the single ceiling fitting in the bathroom was blocked out when the shower curtain was closed, leaving the shower gloomy too. There were only 2 tiny shelves to put anything on in the bathroom, I had to move a dining chair in there to put my clothes and toiletries on so they weren't on the floor! There was no extractor fan so the room steamed up considerably, even with the window open. It is set up as a wet room/accessible bathroom and the water didn't drain properly, so after a shower, there was a small pool of water left in front of the toilet. There was only one luggage rack for a twin room and nowhere to hang anything except for a single hanger on a hook on the back of the bedroom door. Yes, the grounds were beautiful, the food amazing and the staff lovely, but the accommodation could do with a LOT of improvement.

Doing the queen charlotte track and stopped here for lunch. Beautiful lunch, lodge and garden outside area. Good coffee and drink selection. We enjoyed a table on the outside deck in the sun and enjoyed our lunch. I had the raw fish salad and my partner the burger. Both recommended

My husband, son & I had a lovely few days here. They were kind enough to upgrade my son from a bunkhouse to a room right next to ours. I think we were in the Tobias suite which was lovely. The food was always good & the waiters so friendly & helpful. We always tried to sit outside on the deck to eat as soon as much nicer than inside. Thank you again for the upgrade- it made our holiday!

Well, the food the people and the bed and shower were exceptionally good and all great reasons to visit. Such a special place in New Zealand with history amazing walks and an atmosphere to match. Great times must visit again. We did the first leg of the Queen Charlotte Track and after 17 kms we were happy to see reception! We we booked in for dinner, lunch ordered and all queries answered, great to know before we had a lie down!

We’ve been visiting every year since 2006. The lodge has always had that wonderful character and outlook. Over recent years the considerable investments in infrastructure and amenities is impressive. Fabulous new toilet and shower block really appreciated by visiting yachties. Staff were very friendly. We didn’t stay for a main meal this year but enjoyed our drinks snd snacks. I only hope that the there is enough ongoing business to sustain this wonderful lodge.

Our visit was part of our plush tramp from Ship's Cove to Punga Cove on December 28. After being dropped off at the trailhead, our water taxi brought our bags to Furneaux where they were waiting for us in our cottage. After an amazing day hiking, it was a pleasure to arrive and have a nice glass of wine on the lodge deck. The cottage was terrific and well appointed. The restaurant for dinner and breakfast was also good. The staff were terrific. We would have loved to stay a second night. As it was, the lodge organized our bags to be taken by water taxi to Punga Cove lodge. It's a great way to tramp without the heavy pack.
