I do not recommend this hotel if you intend to stay long. I booked a deluxe room and the first room they gave me smelled of raw sewage and I was forced to stay the whole night. Then they moved me to another room that had a leaking air conditioner and I had to put bath towels on the floor to keep the floor from getting wet. The curtains were filthy as well as the cushions. The breakfast was the same 5 days straight and the staff in the dining area kept watching the guests like a hawk. Very unpleasant. Overall the front desk staff was generally helpful as well as the rest of the staff.

My only real complaint was that the Wi-Fi wasn't reliable. I had to go to the hotel next door to get work done. Other than this, it was a decent place.

It's good for the area but could easily improve with better service. They took more than a full day to replace the battery on the door card reader and I had to be escorted to the room every time in the mean time.

I had a wonderful stay here! Location is optimal for exploring Maputo on foot. The room was large and spacious, with a large and comfortable bed, air conditioning, electric kettle, tea and coffee making supplies, a mini fridge, a flatscreen television with international news and entertainment channels (roughly half in English), ample luggage storage, an electronic safe, an excellent buffet breakfast with many local and international options like fried and boiled eggs, fresh fruits and veggies, breads and spreads, beans, cooked meat dishes, etc. (7am-10am), friendly and helpful staff, a full gym with cardio machines, cable machines and free weights (I really loved this aspect and even used the gym to train for 2 hours after checkout!), and a conference centre. The hotel is very new and modern, but there is a bit of water damage in some of the rooms (ceilings and baseboards namely). I am not exactly sure where this came from. The only negative aspects I can think of were that the water pressure in the shower was rather low and there were mosquitos in my room the second night, but I don’t think this is necessarily the fault of the hotel. Free luggage storage is offered at this hotel if you need to hold your luggage after you checkout. There are many shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. Super Spar is about a 15 minutes walk from the hotel. Overall, I had a great stay here, and for the price, I was impressed with all that the hotel offered! Thanks for a lovely stay.

Stayed at Hotel Maputo for a few days in June on business in Maputo. Staff are friendly and helpful in general, although breakfast staff left much to be desired. Breakfast offering was not up to standard with no employees offering any other options than the dishes set out, which did not look appetising in any way.

Poor hotel. Old yellowed and torn towels (mine had a huge hole in it). The shower door comes loose, almost falling. There is no minibar in the rooms and only a single bottle of water is available. The phone didn't work, the door to my room (502) didn't close from the outside and twice the receptionist had to go up and close the door because the magnetic lock was defective. The breakfast was indescribably poor: a few slices of oranges, watery coffee, juice that tasted like nothing. And when I arrived, they gave me a room (302) with a window directly over an area of precarious buildings that looked like slums and worse: the mute exterior of the apartment practically allowed anyone to enter my room. The only thing that saved it was the politeness and goodwill of the employees.
