Abad Turtle Beach Reviews

We stayed at Abad Turtle Beach at Mararikulam from August 6th to 8th 2024. Everything went perfectly from the pickups at Alleppey railway station to the ambience, the welcoming and attentive staff, the facilities and the excellent food. The activity hall was large and the staff served us our dinners there; this included a barbecue on one of the nights. The resort is large and the rooms are spread out over the area, but buggies were just a phone call away. Alleppey railway station is a 30 minute drive. Not all trains stop at Mararikulam railway station, though for those who alight there can get an auto for the 10 minute ride to the resort.

Not valued for the money they are charging, old property needs maintenance,The pillows was not good enough,WiFi was not connecting at all when complained they said to go outside and try to connect well got connected and but after came back to room got disconnected

The location and the facilities were nice. We found the food a bit underwhelming though. As a Malayali, I didn't find the food to be genuine but more of an imitation of Malayali food. When we reached the resort and ordered lunch, we were told that we had pre book meals, no one informed us about this before we came. Porotta ordered during dinner was quite terrible. However the food is well cooked and hygienic, just low on taste. The location, however, is beautiful. The beach was clean and safe.

Sleep quality is ok, bathrooms are smelly, the buffet is good with variety, staff service is slow, food finishes on the buffet n takes time to refill. Rooms are scattered. The beach is clean accessible n very enjoyable, at high tide avoid getting into the sea. Prices are steep in comparison to stay n food quality.

Staff at Abad Turtle Beach made our stay at the resort both memorable and enjoyable. Mr Vinish’s attentiveness to service is remarkable. Mr Shameer and Mr Sumesh, part of the food and beverage dept, ensured that our taste buds were delighted with the excellent food from the restaurant. The staff in general bring guest experience to another level with their welcoming smiles and greetings.The room with the indoor pool is amazing- it is private and the ambience is so serene. The spa was definitely worth my visit- the masseuse was really good.

The resort is very clean and the staff are warm, courteous and very attentive to our needs. Special mention to resort manager Mr Sreejith . From the minute we arrived to the time we left, everything was amazing. The staff, accommodations, the pool, beach and food were all terrific. By day 2 everyone knew who we were, what we liked to eat and drink, etc…Room was well appointed, great air conditioning, roomy, good bed and great bathroom! Be sure to walk the grounds. Sreejith and staff have truly created a paradise.

Green tropical feel to the whole resort. Tranquil and quiet. Warm and lovely. Good food in the restaurant. Buffet in the morning and some evenings. A la carte in the afternoon. Staff are very pleasant and go beyond their call of duty. Shamir in the restaurant and Rasheed in the reception were very accommodating and helpful. The chef made some special dishes with Cassava and fish (Kappa and Meen in Malayalam). We had a disabled passenger in a wheelchair. We stayed in an accessible room. There were ramps to the room, restaurant and reception. The toilet was accessible and had a roll in shower. The spa offered Ayurveda treatment with a Doctor available for consultations.

Went for a family trip to Kerala last week and stayed in Abad Turtle Beach resort for a day. It was a wonderful experience, a vast expanse of a property with a private beach, lots of greens and leisure activities. The hospitality and staff were excellent catering to all our needs to the tee, be it food or anything else. Would definitely visit them again. Tejeshwar

We really loved our stay at this wonderful hotel. The staff and especially, Rashid, were attentive, hospitable and caring. Our bungalow was spacious, loved the tree in the bathroom. Food was cooked to order, and served. Lovely menu, waiting staff fantastic, room service exemplary. Thank you all for a lovely break, we would love to come back soon.

Lovely hotel, only issue is that the bathroom needs an update and water temperature is not constant. Restaurant staff are very friendly but reception staff are very laid back and don’t understand the importance of time. We were booked for one night in pool villa and second night in beach villa. It took them so long to transfer our luggage from one villa to another that we wasted nearly 2 hours in just waiting. Buffet food is good. Pool is nice and the grounds of the hotel is beautiful.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a spacious cottage set in beautiful gardens amongst many butterflies..the hotel was an oasis of peace and calm after our hectic tour. (We actually liked a tree growing in the semi-outdoors bathroom, even though it was warm in there with no air/con). There is a large swimming pool and the beach is vast, with the security *** and lifeguard (both lovely gentlemen) on duty to advise about the conditions for swimming and safety. Everywhere was kept very clean and tidy. All the staff were so polite and kind, they are truly a credit to the company. The food was first class and plentiful, being freshly cooked off an extensive a’la carte menu; although there was an occasion where a large buffet was laid out too, which was also very good. The restaurant service was excellent as all the staff were very attentive and helpful, we dare not name them all in fear of leaving someone out! We also enjoyed the pleasant teatime at ~5 pm, where fresh tea and coffee is served off an antique cart in the gardens, ***** with some snacks. So from arrival at the hotel being greeted with flower garlands and an efficient check-in, to sadly having to leave (although being very grateful for being allowed to have our room till early afternoon for our evening flight back to the UK) this hotel made the perfect relaxing end to our memorable trip in India.

This hotel is so nice to stay in to relax. We arrived here after having completed a 12 day tour so needed some relaxation and chill time on the beach From the moment we arrived to when we left 3 days later the staff were all so lovely and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. The little cottages to stay in were lovely and really spaced out within the beautiful garden. The air con in the room is good, the only slight issue is the outdoor bathroom complete with tree! It looks lovely and is a great idea, but the temperatures mean that you just get hot while trying to shower. We used the beach and pool and both are lovely and relaxing. The sea is quite rough and Augustin warned us about the currents. The food was amazing, while we were there there were no buffets for lunch and dinner so everything was 'a la carte' and cooked fresh to order. We didn't really leave the resort as were happy just to relax, but there are tuk tuks available outside if you want to go anywhere. Brilliant find, my only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.

This is a great mid range hotel with access to the beach. Cottages were clean and comfortable with complimentary water, tea, and coffee. Food in the restaurant was excellent with a great range of choice: the prawn dishes were delicious. The beach is quiet at this end with plenty of shade. The sea is quite rough, so not ideal for swimming in, but the pool is lovely and well maintained. Lovely gardens to walk around but there is a shuttle to the beach if there are any mobility issues.

A really peaceful location for our 3 day stay after a week of travelling through Kerala. Cottages have have direct access to a clean and quiet beach. Perfect for early morning and late evening walks. Augustine and Roy advised us on safety of the beach. Rolling waves and the setting sun were amazing. Other activities such as table tennis,badminton, a good sized pool and bicycles available to exercise, after lovely meals from a range of traditional Kerala and other cuisines. Meals cooked to personal choice of spiciness. Really helpful staff who take care of you from the moment you arrive to when you leave. Reception staff allowed us to check out 2 hours later than normal as our travel back to UK was in late evening.
