Hotels near Bahia Palace in Marrakech

We checked in to our deluxe room, and it was a horrible stay. First off, the deluxe room building is the furthest building away from the hotel, and by the time we get to our room, the view from our balcony is of a construction site and parking lot. Our room had a particularly strong vinegar smell to it, and we asked to move rooms. We were told that every deluxe room was sold out and we would be able to move rooms the next day. Next day comes around and we didn’t hear from the hotel. Every call to guest services took at least 3-5 minutes until someone answered or called back. We also came back to our hotel room unlocked, and it seemed housekeeping didn’t truly close our door when they cleaned it. On our last night, the A/C didn’t seem to work. We called guest services and the lady I spoke to told me that it was turned off for the whole hotel. When asked why or when will it be turned back on, she abruptly interrupts me and says I’m transferring you to the front desk. I waited for at least 2 minutes on the phone before someone from the front desk to answer my call, and he informs me that someone will come check our A/C. We love staying at different hotels in different countries and had no issues with other hotels in Marrakech, however, our stay at Movenpick was very underwhelming and staff didn’t seem to care at all. This has been a very awful experience, and hope that the hotel management can make a much better experience and improvement for others.

Our stay at Riad Miral was absolutely perfect. Monica was a delight and Reda was very helpful and sweet! Their rooms are beautiful as well the communal areas, are all clean , cosy and welcoming. The scents that welcomes you as soon as you enter is wonderful as well as their mint tea and biscuits! The Riad is the heart od the Medina and very close to what beautiful Marrakech has to offer. Everything was perfect, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if anything we wish we had a couple of more day just to relax on top of the roof, the terrace was exquisite and we had lovely breakfast up there. Thanks Monica for making us feel like home and for being so helpful. I will definitely come back and I would recommend your beautiful Riad to anyone!

Hotel in a great location, 10 minutes walk from Djemalefna Square. The hotel is old and fairly poorly maintained, but the air conditioning has just been changed in all the rooms. The rooms are clean but could use some freshening up!!! Very nice swimming pool with a beautiful park-garden very well maintained, but old furniture around. The staff (very nice) was a bit understaffed and slow, but it's Ramadan. For breakfast it's passable but the pastries are always from the day before ... and the service is minimal. For the evening meal: go your way and for the price of the wines it's surreal!!! The staff barely speaks French (French is no longer taught in Morocco), the oldest still speak it a little!... We have been going to this hotel for more than 20 years only because it is super well placed and that we are not too difficult (having used to travel to the 4 corners of the world). But it is not even worth a 2 star from us. The management doesn't even do the minimum service, but again the location is TOP!

We have recently stayed at this hotel and had an amazing time! The rooms are very comfortable, the food is great (amazing choice for breakfast!), the indoor heated pool is amazing and relaxing, the outdoor pool is spacious and relaxing and the sun-beds are very comfortable. The hotel is in a great location, walkable to a mall and many restaurants. A special mention to all the staff members who work here- they are so helpful and friendly! We especially want to mention the following staff: Fatima at reception was very welcoming, Mohammed for his amazing tea and friendliness, Assam and Ismail for being so helpful and friendly at concierge, Abdul Kareem for being great at the pool side bar, Madi for being a great recreational manager, Loutfi for being very helpful in the bar and Essafi for being a helpful security man! You all made our visit so special! We recommend this hotel for great service, food and facilities!

With the hindsight of some of the reviews i have read on this hotel, my conclusion after just staying here for a few days is they are absolutely not giving the hotel the justice it derserves. Yes the hotel is old, might be some tiles missing here and there' or some wall plug not sitting 100 % in the wall. But generally its not a problem that can't be solved if you ask the staff they are both friendly and helpfull. With a large family in marrakech and the experience of travelling here every other year for the last 30 years this is nothing out of the ordinary on hotels of marrakech unless you are staying at something absolutely high end hotel which will probably cost you small fortune Garden is magnificent with a spacious pool area, friendly and helpfull staff that solves any problems you might have, good food with fair prices. Rooms are spacious well ventilated (Ive read a lot of people complaining about the A/C, to that i can just say morocco is one of the warmest places on earth specially during the summer time and thats not anything even the best A/C can solve) The only negative thing is the area around the hotel once was a ”highend” district with lots of luxury hotels sadly the last couple of years the area has been in decay leaving it quite ”dead” which means you have to find a taxi to get to anywhere interesting which is not a big cost (20Dh-40dh), but can be tricky if you are travelling more then 3 persons due to lack of big taxis and the fact that small taxi´s only take 3 people. Love this hotel everything exceptional food staff etc my husband and I are returning to the same hotel tomorrow for our third time staying there. A wide range of amenities vast selection of food with different outlets within the hotel. Staff friendly and make you feel so welcome. Everything immaculately clean . One of our too favourites

Very good service and welcomingandfriendly. Very clean swimming pools. Well decorated and maintained gardens. In terms of meals, it is very variety with international and local cuisine. For slides and water games, it's very close to the restaurants within the same hotel grounds. There are many, for all tastes, for all ages and above all, no waiting to get there. As for entertainment, it's great whether it's day or evening. Via reception, they can organize outdoor activities .

We spent wonderful days in Caravanserai with the Rotary Club with 28 people. The rooms are generous and individual and carefully maintained. The accommodation is very quietly located. The right place to tank. The atmosphere is simply charming with the beautiful lighting. The dinner was served at the pool or tent in the desired garden. The food was very tasty and fine. The staff is very friendly, attentive and premature. Chapeau for Philippe. He is an organizational talent. We're happy to come back as a couple or with a group or for a special celebration. On arrival at the hotel, the main reception rooms are beautiful and have a very Moroccan feel. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The main outdoor pool area is very pretty, and the palm trees, plants and garden areas are all well maintained. Unfortunately, as we were to discover, this was a case of style over substance. The TUI website that we booked from states that there are 5 restaurants ‘to work your way around’ ‘including a fusion restaurant with a creative menu’. This is not true. There is a buffet breakfast room, a pool bar and the only restaurant in the evening was a self-service buffet in the Cat location. The choice of buffet food remained the same every night for our entire holiday. The waiters did work extremely hard here and were running around but it seemed they could do with more staff. There were never any spoons for eating deserts or breakfast. Neither were there any serving spoons for the salads. Occasionally there were tiny plastic spoons which broke when you tried to eat with them. In the evening the bar served drinks in plastic glasses. 5 Star hotel – I think not! Breakfast was very poorly managed. The waiters seemed to ration the amount of coffee we could be served. This was limited to 1 cup each – unless you were able to ‘sneak’ the coffee pot away. Pancakes were cooked fresh, but left out to go cold, with no spotlights turned on to keep them warm. I also had to ask daily for the chocolate sauce (watered down Nutella) to go with them. The cereals were limited to a choice of 3 but often no milk and again, no spoons. There ware some tiny yogurts – but again no spoons. I had to use a fork. Fresh fruit was limited to sliced orange. Used plates were left on the table for the entire meal. The hotel states that there is an outdoor pool and a heated indoor pool in the spa area. The hotel does not state that the indoor pool is chargeable at 300 MAD/ £23 per hour. This is extortionate. I have never stayed in a 5-star hotel and being charged to use the pool. No wonder we didn’t see anyone using it, despite the couple of rainy days. The gym is supposed to be air conditioned but, on each occasion, when we used the gym there was no air conditioning. It was either not switched on, broken or incorrectly described. There was a lack of working plug sockets in the bedroom. Of the 3 sockets available, we had to use 1 for everything. There was no plug socket near to a mirror to dry my hair. I had to use my iPad camera to see what I was doing. The bathroom mirror was tarnished, and I was unable to use for makeup. Insufficient clean towels were left on a regular basis. The toilet paper was so cheap, it ran out every day and needed replacing. The air conditioning did not cool the room, despite being on the lowest setting. Thankfully we were not staying in the peak of summer. The bedroom & bathroom floor were dirty and had not been washed/cleaned. The fridge in the bedroom was not cold enough to cool water and the balcony
