Reviews of Riad Jemaa El FNA & Spa

Booked this hotel cause we liked it's location and the photos of the rooms were nice. As we arrived we're given a shoe-box size room on the lower floor with a glass door and no more than 12m2 and not in a very good shape (the toilet was hardly fixed to the ground...). One couldn't sleep there cause of the noise from outside for sure and we asked about the room on the photos. They said that it was only one room like that and was occupied and they suggest another room. The second room was on the first floor and was also minimal size and again far from the version they advertise on the site. We then talked to the manager telling we were gonna change hotels (which we did) and he told us he was sorry, understand the situation and that we we're getting a half refund. Till today we are still waiting for the money and are unable to talk to them since he gave us a number but simply doesn't reply to the messages we've sent... We felt scammed twice (first for the photos of the room and now for the refund) and can't stop thinking for how little people (and by their actions companies) sell their integrity, we're talking about 200€...

This hotel is absolutely everything we wanted it to be. Right in the centre, near all the shops,bars, restaurants and just about as traditional as they come. It is really tucked away but truly stunning in terms of a Moroccan feel. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We booked a quad trip which was good. I was terrified but my partner didn't think they let you go fast enough! We had some incredible meals. We were there over Eid so really struggled to find beer and wine. The best little place we went to every day was a stones throw from the hotel with a lovely rooftop bar called Salama. The beer was gorgeous. Wr hadn't incredible meal at un dejeuner marrakech which is also near by and had beautiful cocktails at Dar Dar. You need your wits about you as it is mad busy and cars and bikes are everywhere with no consideration for anyone. Also be preparaed to bartar as youcan easily get ripped off. Marrakech is not for the faint hearted but is hands down one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to and I would 100% recommend the Symphonie de Marrakech.

I booked dinner today for 7pm, when I arrived there they said the reservation was for 8:30pm, which I refused because we had 3 children with us. They then said they could serve us at 7:30pm, which we agreed to. The place was underwhelming (not as advertised) and hard to reach. We ordered food, which took almost an hour to arrive and it came lukewarm and poor quality (greasy, lamb covered in fat, mushy veggies, etc). The waiter disappeared, NONE of us ate it and when we complained the reception person blamed us! No apologies, no discount, no solution and he had a very threatening and aggressive attitude shouting at us in front of the children who were very scared. It’s the biggest scam in Marrakesh - avoid at all costs!

This budget friendly Riad filled all our expectations. It is perfectly situated minutes from Jemaa El Fna and lots of wonderful restaurants. The breakfasts were superb and served on the picturesque rooftop terrace. We had dinner there one night and again that was delicious. But what makes this Riad so lovely are the staff who really couldn’t have done any more for us.

Wow , what an amazing experience! The riad is beautiful and the place feels so so safe with staff by the door 24/7 so if you need anything they are there ! The food was delicious! And we got our breakfast included! Thank you to Zack and all the staff for making our stay so special! Upon arrival they sat us down to show us Marrakesh and book excursions which was so helpful and gave us an idea of how to get around the city. The staff would walk us to taxis and show us to one making sure everything was safe! They all went above and beyond for us the service was exceptional!! It was our anniversary on the last day so Zack and the staff surprised us on the terrace with songs and a cake bless them ! We had a dance and some drinks .. it made our trip !! The location is brilliant, tucked away but in the heart of Marrakech so everything we needed was in walking distance with markets on our doorstep. We booked two excursions with our riad , waterfalls and monkeys , hot air balloon and camel ride , both with food and travel included for great prices !! Couldn’t recommend this riad enough!

This is one of the best places I found in Marrakech. I like to do research prior to booking , and I chose this place after making a phone call. They were very friendly and professional. My stay has been just as good thanks to Ossama and his team. The room was very clean, and I was provided with all of the amenities I needed.

This riad is beautiful and traditional with excellent staff, they helped us with everything and greeted us to and from all our taxis so we never felt lost or unsafe. The room was perfectly fine for us and they had decorated the bed with petals for us! Lovely roof terrace but not enough sun beds sadly.

Perfect stay, right next to Jemaa el-Fna square. Warm and attentive welcome. Facilities always clean and fantastic meals on the rooftop. Thanks to all the staff, especially Mohamed Layichi, who always accompanied us on this magical trip. Thank you Marrakech!

This riad have taken my money and not returned it despite me booking and then cancelling with a free cancellation booking. This was back in august. I have rung the riad and they say they can’t help, I have rung the local booking agent and they don’t pick up. I spoke to *********** and they too are not not helping. I’m a grand down and this riad have stolen my money. I wouldn’t book with these dishonest people.

We stayed for 6 nights in this beautiful Riad . The team there really go above and beyond to make your stay special . Even though it is super close to the square inside is very peaceful with several areas to chill out . We ate at the restaurant a few times and what we had was delicious .

Decent hotel, but beware, they are scammers. I booked through ***********, but they charged me twice the initial amount without explanation. Despite numerous attempts to contact them, I received no response. Exercise caution with payments.

We stayed at the Riad for 6 nights, and had a total of 13 nights in Morocco. This was definitely the best stay. This is what i will highlight about the place. -Beautiful Riad, well held. -Very central, just a stone cast from the big square Jemaa el fna. -Very helpfull and great english speaking receptionists. Especially, a huge thank you to Zakaria that completed the stay from start to the end. It started by were received with a presentation of the Riad and then he highlighted the main attractions of the city on a map. That added a couple of places to the list. We flew very early in the morning, but still Zakaria took our luggage, and followed us to the square where he helped finding a taxi to the airport. -Good cleaning, and a fine breakfast that get's you started -The only minus i can come up with is the wifi, it is very unstable, and was down during smaller periods of the stay. 5-star value for money stay!

Great Road just off the main Square with a full range of nearby restaurants to choose from. The staff are friendly and welcoming and can't do enough for you. We booked a private tour through the road to Essaouira. The driver, Youssef, was excellent making us feel safe at all times on the 3 hour journey to Essaouira. He was courteous and pleasant through out and arranged our private guide in Essaouira, Ali, who also was very good. He went out of his way to ensure we saw the sights, explaining all the while the history of the place. You can tell he is very proud of his city. For those travelling in August the temperature in Essaouira was 10°-15° c cooler than Marrakech at 25°-27°. All in all a great experience.

Very welcoming atmosphere, relaxing perfect after a full day wandering the city. Very Clean and neat! The rooms are fully equipped and in our case, best night sleep, no noises, perfect temperature etc. It has different chill out areas great for the evening after dinner! Agafay diner + Quads in the desert are a must, and they make all the arrangements so easy and very good price :) We would like to thank all the staff for the experience and specially to our Agafay driver Youssef and our new friend Zakaria for all the help provided as well as interesting conversations in German and English! We will recommend the Riad to all our friends and family and maybe even repeat in the future.
