It's the only 5 star resort in Mulu National Park vicinity. They have a shuttle to the National and it's only 5 minutes away. Marriott provides airport pickup to the resort too. Staff at the resort are amazing people. Friendly, accommodating, service oriented. Rooms and resort grounds are well maintained and clean.

The rooms are a bit dated and the dining options are just okay, but the hotel's facilities and services definitely live up to a 5-star standard. They even offer free airport and park transfers. What really stands out is how the hotel is surrounded by trees and bushes – you open your window and all you see is greenery.

If you're going to Mulu, you really should stay at the Marriott. The rainforest is so hot, so it's super important to come back to the room, have a nice bath, and get a good night's sleep after a day of exploring. The service is decent, pretty standard. The A/C is nice and cool, and the hygiene is excellent. They also have shuttle buses to the airport and the park, although they do feel a bit like cattle trucks, haha.

Staff were attentive and friendly, and they even had a Cultural Appreciation Night, sharing about the local culture and tribes. Hotel location were a short 5 mins drive away from Mulu National Park, and the property offers shuttle services. Sometimes you gotta wait a little during peak (noon and evening), and you can call the hotel or get the park security to holler the hotel to come pick you. Food is great at the hotel, and the rooms are clean. TV reception might be weak as expected cos we are in the near the mountains but everything else is great! Would stay at Marriott again when we visit Mulu in the future!
