We stayed here on 28 January for one night. We did not have a pre-booked cabin so booked a 2 room cabin on arrival at the reception desk. We were given linen to make up one of the bunks in the second "bedroom" (too small to qualify for the name really) however the queen bed in the main room was made up, and was very comfortable. The split system air con worked very well. The cabin, supposedly a "family room," was extremely small, tiny little table, one easy chair shoved under the TV wall bracket, fridge NOT TURNED ON (in a heat wave), no UHT or fresh milk for tea/coffee. No tidybin in the bathroom, toilet brush handle came adrift, "Welcome back Zoe" written on the bathroom mirror (who is Zoe??!), and NO HOT WATER in shower, handbasin or kitchen sink! Also the switch cock in the shower was broken so we had to use the handheld shower for our COLD showers. The faceplate on the powerpoint bank in the kitchen was extremely loose. Bathroom sliding door would only stay shut when latched by a hook and eye type arrangement with two screws protruding right through to the other side of the door. When checking out we let the management know of these issues but we were not offered an apology or a discount. The cabin cost $180, a major ripoff considering 3 days prior we stayed in a cabin in a park in another regional town which offered two queen beds, 3 TVs, a separate toilet, HOT WATER, a fridge that was TURNED ON AND COLD, milk in the fridge, a sofa and a river view and no loose power points. And no message scrawled on the mirror! There was a very friendly dog in the park who provided us with our only positive experience in the Golden Country Motel and Caravan Park.
