This was the highlight of our trip! This colonial bungalow is set in the hills of the tea plantation area of the country, and the views are simply beautiful. It is located up a steep and narrow road, and the actual driveway is an unmade track which at first appears to treacherous to be safely travelled by motor vehicle ; our experienced driver was initially unwilling to take us down it! However, please persevere; it is well worth the effort! The house itself is full of character and the colonial feel has been preserved. However it is the staff and the view that make this a great place to visit. Our host was a wonderful man called Moorthy; he could not do enough to please us. He was almost like a friend by the time we left, and insisted on us all having photos taken together. The food was excellent, prepared by the talented Mr Mohan! A young lad, Prasadh, took us on a a walk around the village, and this was a highlight of our trip. The local people were all really friendly and welcoming, despite having very little in the way of possessions and wealth. Prasadh knows all the local flora really well. However, I should state that the walk was neither short nor flat, as Moorthy had described it to us! There is so much more that I could say about this place, but suffice it to say, we will definitely return there as soon as we can! A real gem!
