Ohashikan

I was very satisfied with this calm and quiet hotel. It's not right in front of the station, so it was perfect for me as I was looking for a peaceful place. The area seems to be a nightlife district, as there were people loudly chatting after 10 PM. I finished dinner early and went back to my room, so I didn't experience any issues. It seems yukatas were available for guests, but there was no explanation, so I just helped myself. A male staff member nearby kept staring but offered no advice, which I found strange. This was my first trip back to Japan in a while, and I was happy to experience the Japanese climate with good weather. The room was well-maintained, clean, and had a comfortable bed. The underground onsen isn't large, but you might find it empty if you choose your timing wisely. There's also an ice machine and a microwave on the first floor.

The hospitality was outstanding. As many ryokans nowadays are quite expensive, I opted for a room-only plan. It's rare to find a ryokan offering a room-only plan for just 10,000 yen per person. When I decided to add breakfast last minute and was quoted 3,000 yen per person, I initially paused. However, I was treated to a relaxing and serene traditional Japanese breakfast in a beautifully appointed private room. The riverside location was excellent, and the service from all staff members was impeccable. The staff at the breakfast area even escorted us to the elevator to bid us farewell. It truly made for a delightful trip. Thank you very much.

Good service and an excellent location.

It is really a very nice hotel. I didn't have any expectations for Shimane, but from the moment I landed at Izumo Airport all the way to the hotel, I met very warm and friendly people. The staff of Ohashi Kan is even more enthusiastic and responsible. I can say that the design and facilities of the hotel are among the top three of all the Japanese hotels I have stayed in. The design is obviously very thoughtful, convenient and practical, not fancy, simple and generous, and the room is really clean. The station is on the right hand side of the hotel, and transportation is convenient. The front desk staff was not only enthusiastic and patient, but also printed a Chinese version of the hotel guide. I was very touched and gave it a high praise! ! !
