Reviews of Ryokan Matsukaze

Location was close to the station. 10 walk but be had so much luggage to roll behind is so 15 minutes. Rooms were cosy. Small as most in Japan are but well heated as we went in fall during a cold day. Service was very pleasant. We were greeted well and shown to our rooms. We didn't get to see the service in action that much because we left early morning after 1 day.

I had the amazing opportunity to stay at a traditional Japanese ryokan, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm hospitality that made me feel right at home. The ryokan was beautifully designed with classic Japanese architecture, tatami mat flooring. My room was serene and minimalistic, featuring a comfortable futon laid out on the tatami mats in the evening. I especially enjoyed wearing the yukata provided and walking around the ryokan feeling completely immersed in Japanese culture. One of the highlights of my stay was the onsen (hot spring bath). Soaking in the warm water was incredibly relaxing and refreshing. Staying at a ryokan allowed me to experience the calm, simplicity, and beauty of traditional Japanese living. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic and peaceful retreat in Japan.

I really like the ryokan, even though the bath is shared, there are no problem with using it. Everything is super clean. The only downside is that because the wall is super thin, if you encounter noisy guests at the hotel, it could get really loud. I had to ask a family to quiet down a bit after 12am, because they had a kid that was making commotions. But other than that I actually really enjoy the room (and it’s really the cheapest option in the area)

The accommodation is quite difficult to find. After booking and paying, when checking in, I couldn't find it. The owner (my own opinion) only wanted to collect money again. It took a long time to find out. There is no parking. The only thing is that it is clean. Other things I don't like: When booking, I didn't read carefully that the bathroom is shared. You have to walk through the bathroom to take a shower outside. There is only a small onsen pool. You have to wait to take a shower. The price is expensive because it is close to the city but not too far from the city. I am very disappointed because I am not impressed. I left the accommodation and changed to a new hotel.

Accommodation is ok, there is parking, good room, shower room, toilet are separated, towels are provided, free tea is provided. The shower room has shampoo, shower gel, hair dryer, hot water, good water pressure, highly recommended. Although the owner of the accommodation does not speak English, we can communicate well. Recommended accommodation that is easy to understand.

It is a hostel in Matsumoto city. The room is clean and spacious, but there is no private bathroom. You have to go outside to use it. There are not many bathrooms. The shower room is on the first floor. You have to walk through the lobby. Overall, it is okay. The price is not expensive.
