Holiday Inn TOLEDO-MAUMEE (I-80/90) by IHG

Staff was friendly and the room was clean. The fitness center was very uncomfortable due to the preset thermostat at 76 degrees. Please fix this. It was like a sauna in there. There was no hand sanitizer. I did appreciate the cold water dispenser though.

The carpet in the room and hall was filthy, stained. The shower had handprints and soap scum on the wall. The restaurant refused to honor pricing printed on elevator wall. The one manager just sat and was on his phone at all times. After all of my years with HI, it keeps getting worse. There was no pride showing. The elevator had grass on both elevator floors. Most likely carried in on customers shoes, but that was for 2. When we went to our room for the first night, there was a piece of plastics on the hall floor, when we left 4 days later, it was still there.

The room was clean. The beds were taller than expected so it was an issue for my littles and even I had to make an effort to get on the bed. I did not interact much with staff. I didn't check out the restaurant. Biggest complaint or concern is that something may be in the water. Shower felt soapy like I couldn't wash off. I felt sticky after.

There was no one there when we arrived. We waited in the lobby for 10 to 15 minutes and someone finally came in. Went to the room and it wasn't even cleaned. The pillows were on the floor, the pillow cases were laying on the bed. She gave us a new room. I just don't know how a room here with a king bed gets a 9.2 excellent rating on *******. We have been traveling a little lately and 2 out of 4 supposed excellent hotels were not very good.

The hotel was very clean, comfortable, & had spacious room. Breakfast is not included with room rate.

When we checked in, the key cards for the room were malfunctioning. We have to go back to the lobby twice to get new key cards that worked. Also, we thought breakfast was included, like before, but the front desk told us it wasn't. Because of the key card problem, they offered us breakfast coupons. Regarding the breakfast, the food was OK, but it was not totally self-served. We didn't see any beverages in the buffet. They kept the drinks in the kitchen. Drinks had to be ordered through a waitress who expected a tip. This was the first time we encountered a tip expectation for a breakfast buffet while staying at a hotel. We've already paid over $200 for staying overnight, why do we have to pay extra for breakfast and a tip? I didn't even bring my wallet to breakfast, so I couldn't leave a tip. Regarding the facilities, the bathtub faucet was problematic. The pull-up diverter didn't work right. Half the water could not reach the shower. This hotel needs to keep up its maintenance. We won't book this hotel again.

Elevator was so slow. All the amenities and building is pretty old and the room smells from the old carpet.

My room was clean and well maintained. Bistro in the lobby serves breakfast, water and coffee in the lobby all day long.

Was a short overnight stay. Room and bed were clean. Had a darkened window. Shade and bed was comfortable. Had a nice late checkout time of 11, which was helpful.
