Nice stay and helpful staff, but for one person at the reception who doesn't seem to know what hospitality means. Very clean and confortable room, good breakfast buffet, though dinner buffet is sometimes of lesser quality. The staff is overally very nice, I recommend to stay there if you have a rental car, or you prefer to stay and relax by the pool or beach.

I enjoyed my stay very much with friendly atmosphere and very nice and helpful people. All the staff is great and I really recommend this hotel for people who are not looking for crowded party pool. By the boat house at the beach you can find beach staff who arrange wonderful activities in and outside of the hotel area. Snorkling boat has a window bottom so you can see the sea on your way to snorkling. Thank you for the boat trip and snorkling day Youdish Seamen and all the helpfulness and advices that were important to make me feel safe and peaceful. I enjoyed every conversation with a professional attitude Youdish Seamen had in his job. Thank you Sonali making my days nice and tidy and homealike room. Thank you Annecy for the dance and fun in hotel activities. Omelette guy in the restaurant made my every morning with a friendly smile. So sad I cannot mension everyone of the staff by name but I would thank every single one.

I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in June 2026. The receptionist who checked me in showed excellent customer service skills. I was given a welcome drink and a cold towel on arrival. She upgraded my booking to a Deluxe room, gave me a brief tour of the hotel grounds and showed me to my room. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious and well furnished with plenty of storage space. All appliances in the room were in good working order. The view from the bedroom balcony was beautiful looking out across the hotel grounds and towards the sea. The room was serviced every morning. The hotel was very compact with all amenities within close proximity. All the staff whom I came into contact with were friendly and helpful. In the early part of my holiday I mentioned to one of the staff that I liked Indian food. At dinner that night I was served with a curry and Indian bread made specially for me. A really nice gesture, very much appreciated. The food was varied, tasty and well presented. The cocktails at the bar were probably the best I have had on my travels. The Bloody Mary being exceptionally good. Musical entertainment was provided most nights, which was quite good. The hotel grounds and gardens were very well maintained. For a relaxing holiday in nice surroundings, I would certainly recommend this hotel. Room 220.

Third time visit and it just gets better every time, Every member of staff just make us feel so welcome and it’s so personal. This time I did all my own arrangements and the reservations team just made it so simple. When we arrived it was like we was visiting family the welcome from everyone was so special. The room again was lovely and the bed is massive and housekeeping were always asking us if we had any problems just say but we never had , oh apart from after the trees were cut we woke to find a spider (bigger than uk but not dangerous) and we are not fans so they dealt with it straight away. We have always enjoyed the food and this year it was even better. But for us the icing on the cake was they arranged a romantic dinner on the beach for our last night and it was fantastic. Definitely will be back as soon as we can

This was our fourth time at this hotel, and honestly, we still don’t know exactly why it feels so special to us — but it truly does. We stayed there again last week with our family, a group of around 40–45 people, and once again, the hotel made us feel completely at home. A very special thank you to Ms. Vanessa, who has always been incredibly kind and supportive. From our bookings right through to check-out, she helped us with every arrangement and ensured everything went smoothly. Words are not enough to express our gratitude. All our family members conveyed their appreciation and thanked her wholeheartedly. Special thanks as well to Ms. Kietsia and brother Adip, who made everything easy for us during our stay. They are always welcoming and greet everyone with such warm smiles. Staff members like them are one of the main reasons we keep coming back. The hotel itself is beautiful. Housekeeping does an excellent job every single day, keeping everything clean and comfortable. The pool is stunning, and the kids absolutely loved it. The food and drinks were superb. We enjoyed a great variety of dishes including meat, fish, chicken, pasta, and much more. During the two days we stayed, we truly enjoyed every item on the buffet. We also had a wonderful time enjoying the sauna and the massage services. Thank you once again for another memorable stay. We are already looking forward to coming back again. We want to start with saying a huge thank you to the staff and management at the Jalsa Beach hotel we had another amazing holiday with you. Your staff go above and beyond, they remember your favourite drinks, your room number and also any special dietary requirements, and are always greet you with a hello and warm smile. Special thanks to Dannesh, Vanesha, manesha, Roshan and the rest of the housekeeping team. At the risk of rambling on I would like to address some of the not so great reviews I have read! This was our 4th stay at the Jalsa Beach and we would not wish to stay anywhere else in Mauritius. It is a smaller hotel which we prefer because you are known by your name not just another guest, the staff are exceptional and no request is too big. The management are constantly doing things to upgrade the rooms and outside areas, there were mostly all new sun loungers since our last visit and the area is beautifully kept, well done to the guest who posted a photo of the adjacent property that looked very unkempt and has tried to pass it off as the hotel, this photo could only be taken whilst standing on something to access a window about 7 feet high. These are the lengths some people will go to to try and get free room upgrades or other compensation, we witnessed appalling behaviour by some guests bad mouthing the hotel to try and achieve this. Shame on you. Lastly to address the issue of stray dogs, we have never had an issue with them, yes they are around mostly they are too timid to come too close and sometimes there is noise from them barking at the adjacent property but never to the degree that it has bothered us. The Mauritian authorities are trying to address the issue by neutering strays but this is a slow process. Car hire is a good idea to make the most of the island as the hotel is a little remote if you want other restaurants or a supermarket, they drive on the same side as the UK and it is reasonably priced, we use Ebrihim tours, they will drop of and pick up a car from the hotel. Alternatively haggle with the taxi drivers there's always a deal to done. Thank you again to you all, especially for our special dinner on the beach, we know how much time and effort this took. We look forward to seeing our Jalsa Beach family again next year.

This was our first time to Jalsa Beach but our second time to Mauritius and we had a fantastic time. I had read the reviews, both good and bad, before we booked and were unsure what to expect but our stay exceeded our expectations. It's a small hotel but this provided the intimacy to the place. It wasn't too long before you get know everyone and formed friendships and companionships. The hotel is remotely positioned, but we knew this before we booked, however there is a bus stop outside the main gates which will take you to the markets in Flaq and Goodlands. Check with the staff for market days. The buses have their own timetable. If you are adventurous book a trip or a car, they drive on the left. I don't normally mention the staff but on this occasion I make the exception as they were an integral part of our holiday. On arrival we went to the restaurant and as we entered were greeted by my name and room number. Within a short space of time all the staff knew us, greeting us with big, wide smiles and making sure we had the best time ever. In particulate Kushi, Shrishna, Manisha, Fourdoor, Katsia, our lovely cleaning lady, the animation team who work hard and not forgetting Vanessa, whom I am sure kept a watchful eye on our stay to make sure it was as wonderful as it could be and whom I am sure was responsible for putting us in a great seaview room. Regarding food and drink, it was plentiful, varied, well cooked flavoursome and suited our needs and will say no more as everyone has their own view on what they want or need. The view from the room and/or the beach is fantastic, as you look across the lagoon to the jungle, mountains, reef and more. We were made to feel special, had a relaxing time, enjoyed good company, enjoyed being in Mauritius. No complaints from me.
