A beautiful property with absolutely stunning views of the Willamette Valley, Youngberg Hill is perfect for a romantic getaway. The room and views were incredible. There is a fireplace that we didn't need during the summer but would be lovely for fall and winter cozy nights. The room also had a big jacuzzi tub, and of course a wine fridge. My favorite part was sitting on the deck in the evening, drinking wine and enjoying the gorgeous view. The staff does leave muffins and the room has a small coffee maker. The only challenge is that there is not lunch or dinner food on site, so you do have to drive into McMinnville for meals.
Response from Property: Thank you for the lovely review. While we regret that we cannot provide lunch and dinner on-site, we are pleased that you were able to find our very close options in McMinnville. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and our accommodations.

The rooms were so comfortable and well appointed, the location up on the hill was gorgeous and we got the perfect sunrise pictures and loved watching the fog roll across the valley. The animals on the property were a neat surprise and we had such fun watching them each day. The cows, the sheep, the quail, the deer… we loved the sitting area in the middle of the lodge with the fireplace, and the four of us ended each day there over a bottle of wine, relaxing. And the wine tasting was amazing, getting to know the owners gave it such a personal connection and was the main reason we decided to try a wine club for the first time! I would love to come back and stay again.

My wife & I stayed the beginning of September and really enjoyed the facility. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and the views were terrific, especially with a nice bottle of Youngberg Hill wine!

We’ve been staying at Youngberg Hill & Vineyards since the youngest daughter was a baby & she’s now 18. It is the only Inn we ever stay at when in the area or just looking for a quick & gorgeous getaway from our home in Bend, OR. Why? They’re absolutely the best & there’s no reason to stay anywhere else! Beckie, their long time on-site manager, is not only friendly & fun, but dishes up a delicious breakfast too. The property & Inn are stunning no matter what time of year you visit. Wandering the grounds or up & down the long winding drive, viewing the Cascade & coast mountains in the distance, visiting the dogs & Highland cattle, & taking beautiful photos from the wrap around deck are reasons enough for this non wine drinker to enjoy a trip to the best wine spot in & around McMinnville, the wine capital of Oregon. I’m always happy when my hubby wants to wine taste & we stay at the Inn. We had an extra special treat staying during the Blood Moon total ***** eclipse, Mar 13-14, … yes, I saw it partially through the clouds, but also Ginger had a surprise baby Highland calf that night! Double wow!! Can’t recommend this Inn enough!
Response from Property: Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review! We are truly honored to have been a part of your family’s memories for so many years. Guests like you are the reason we love what we do. Becky will be so thrilled to hear your kind words — she takes such pride in making every guest feel at home (and well-fed!). And we’re so glad you enjoy all the special touches on the property, from the views to our beloved dogs and Highland cattle — especially little Ginger’s surprise calf! What a magical night to be here for the Blood Moon eclipse and that special arrival. Thank you again for your continued loyalty and for sharing such beautiful reflections. We can’t wait to welcome you back for more unforgettable stays — whether for the wine, the scenery, or just a well-deserved escape from Bend. See you soon!

Your confirmation number means NOTHING! We made reservations 9 months ago and 1 week before our trip, Nicolette (owner) sends us an email saying she had more important guests. Our replacement hotel was very expensive because of the short notice and high season. On the website, Youngberg HIll brags about being a top TripAdvisor award winner for seven years....how could that be?
Response from Property: The inadvertent cancellation of this reservation was an unfortunate situation, and the subsequent post was equally regrettable. We want to assure everyone reading that we would never randomly cancel a reservation because “other guests are more important.” That has never been our practice, nor will it ever be, and we never communicated in this manner. In this specific instance, the reservation was canceled in error, not a decision made by the owners or management, and not a decision based on other guests or potential guests. Once we discovered the issue, we immediately refunded the stay in full, reached out with recommendations for alternate accommodations in the area, and offered a complimentary wine tasting as a gesture of goodwill. While we understand this was frustrating and disruptive to travel plans, our intention was to ensure that no one arrived without options or a place to stay. We are continuously working to improve our reservation system to prevent this type of situation from happening again. We deeply value every guest and regret that this experience did not reflect the level of hospitality and care that we strive to provide at Youngberg Hill.

We loved our room. A gorgeous view of the valley and the distant Mt. Hood. Fog covered vineyards in the morning to watching the cows going down the hill to eat. We arrived on Wednesday which was their entertainment night. Loved it! Sitting outside listening to great music drinking wine. We had small pastries and coffee in our room with comfy chairs for the morning views. Enjoyed visiting so many great wineries and new restaurants. You are away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A great memory!
Response from Property: Thank you so much for the lovely review. We are so glad you enjoyed your time at Youngberg Hill. We love our little hideaway from all the hustle and bustle. We are close to everything, but far enough away to enjoy the quiet. We hope you come back to make more memories soon!!

We absolutely loved staying at Younberg Hill! Our room was upstairs with a full view of the winery. We were lucky enough to be there on a Wednesday so we enjoyed the weekly concert in the vineyard drinking wine and watching the sun set over the property. Can’t wait to come back!
Response from Property: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We love it when guests take part in our weekly Wine Wednesday during the summer, and hope you enjoyed the wines as much as we do. We hope to see you again soon! Our winter rates will be posted soon, so check back to enjoy our beautiful property during the winter months.

Please stay away from this venue! My brother and sister in law got married at Youngberg Hill in June 2025. I was their coordinator and had the displeasure of being the main point of contact with the venue. We had an absolutely terrible experience during the planning process, day of the wedding and after the wedding with Youngberg. After our initial tour of the venue with their then Events Manager, that manager left the venue and the position was never filled. Instead, a manager from Portland Catering Company, their preferred caterer, was our new point of contact, even though we weren’t using them as our caterer. It often took weeks/months for the venue to respond on simple questions. We were constantly asked the same questions over and over. It was clear there was no invested interest in our event from any employee we would be talking to. We were told one thing by the general manager and another by the catering manager at Portland Catering Company, which was all different from what we were originally told in our first tour with their events manager. I am baffled at their miscommunication, mismanagement and lack of care for their clients. On the day of the wedding, something that we had talked about multiple times with the venue and were promised they would provide was not fulfilled and I was told there was no way to remedy this because no one was available. Not a single person was able to do anything about this ball being dropped. After the ceremony, the bride, groom and bridal party (10 people total) went to the inn to relax for a few minutes before making their grand entrance to the reception. The bridal party was hooping and hollering for their newly wed friends (understandably). This was met with the inn keeper telling them “you guys need to be quiet because my boss will be mad if you’re loud”. The only people inside the inn at that time were the bridal party and the inn keeper… so apparently it is against their policy to celebrate the newly wed couple. Again, what a disgrace that you call yourselves a wedding venue and yet this is the response to being excited about getting married. The day after the wedding there was even confusion about retrieving our things from the event center by the on site staff, when we had an email sent the week of the wedding from the manager stating exact times we had to remove our items. It is clear this was not communicated to the staff on site and they arrived 50 minutes late to unlock the event venue for us. We have also found numerous things incorrect in our billing and they are only being fixed by us pointing them out. How shady! There was so much miscommunication among staff members, mismanagement by both the general manager and the catering manager and all around lack of care for the couple and their wedding day. After this experience, I offered to let the venue make things right before going public with our experience. Again, it was like pulling teeth trying to get them to respond, but I was trying t

I would highly recommend you pass on this winery. The view is beautiful but they really don’t care about accomodating guests or being nice. We visited as a group of 6 and were informed ahead of time we could not do a traditional tasting and instead needed to order bottles of wine. We were disappointed because part of our reason for visiting the different wineries is to get to sample many wines but wanted to visit anyway as we were biking and this winery made sense to stop at, and we heard there were great views (whcih there are). When we arrived we asked the tasting room manager if she could tell us about the wines she did, but we definitely didn’t feel welcomed at the winery. We were told we had to spend $30 per person, so we picked bottled to get us to that amount. We had reserved our spot and paid ahead of time. When it came time to settle up, we were told we owed more than we thought. It turns out that at least 2 of the prices on the printed list we were provided were wrong - by as much as $30 a bottle. When we pointed this out and said we would pay the amount that was listed and that we ordered from we were told by the manager she could not do that. After some negotiation we agreed to split the difference. We did leave her a tip on top of that. As we were getting ready to leave the Vice President came running out to ask us what had happened. We explained and he said they had no idea the prices were listed wrong and they were right on the website and we should have know and paid the proper prices. He became very rude when my husband explained the situation and when we said we felt we should have only paid the amount listed. What should have been a nice visit turned into us being bullied by the VP. Reading other reviews it seems that this winery doesn’t really care about visitors to their tasting room.

I have been here many times, but things seemed to have changed. I had a very embarrassing experience bringing my 5 friends for wine and a picnic. We bought 2 bottles of wine. When the bill was brought, the waiter told us we had to pay $30 per person because we had made a reservation for 6 people. I made the reservation on the phone, and at no time was there a mention of this fee. In fact, I asked if we could bring in food, and get a glass of wine, bottle, or tasting, depending on my friends' choices. Yes, we could. So we ended up owing more money than the 2 bottles, and my friend said he would buy the third bottle to meet the quota. Being an awkward situation, he just asked for another bottle of one of our choices. At no time, did we become aware that the bottle we ordered was $100; as it was not one of the bottles he had displayed for our choices. Bill paid. All of us embarrassed and dissatisfied. My friend went back to the waiter independently and asked if he could exchange the bottle for a cheaper one. He was told NO, it would be to hard to do. (My son works at a winery, and said it is no big deal.) He also said, "Didn't you enjoy the wine?" to which my friend honestly, "It was not as good as what we had earlier." We all left embarrassed and dissatisfied. Will not go back.

Visited Youngberg Hill after reviewing internet post and found it miss leading. No breakfast was offered. The room was dated. Wine and tasting was okay, not the greatest. The cost of $580 did not mat h the experience. The view was nice but expected more.

Beautiful location with hotel room windows and decks overlooking the vineyards, the coast mountains and the Willamette valley. Quiet and idyllic, you’ll see a couple of old dogs watching the hotel grounds, some highland cows in their pasture and few sheep in the vineyards. This is a perfect location for a wine tasting trip getaway. Rooms are warm and comfortable. Staff are super friendly. easy going and accommodating. I’m coming back.
